EN goes for it on 4th and 17 from the PC 37 after an offensive penalty and a PC sack. Pass caught but out of bounds. Turnover on downs, PC ball at their own 37 with abt 9 min left in the game.
EN bobbles kickoff and takes over at their own 10. EN qb abt to be sacked in the endzone. Looks like an intentional grounding in the endzone to me, refs throw a flag and then pick it up. EN shanks the punt and PC takes over at the EN 21.
PC ball at the EN 1 after a couple of nice runs by PC's "Mighty Mouse" #3. PC's RB #2 finishes off the drive and scores from 1yd out. PAT good. PC leads 7-0 with 3:11 left in the 3rd.
PC drive stalls at the EN 20 after a failed 4th down conversion. EN cant move the ball either and punts on 4th and 1 from their own 29 after failing to get PC to jump offsides. PC ball at their own 47, no return. 5:17 left in the 3rd, still scoreless.
PC unable to capitalize after an EN late hit on 3rd down and has to punt, touchback. EN ball at the 20 with 1:20 left in the half. Lots of penalties and negative plays on both sides.
PC loses 7 yards on the drive and punter booms his punt. EN returner may/may not have touched it. Refs say no, ball rolls into the endzone for a touchback. EN ball , 6 min and some change left in the half. Still scoreless.
PC takes opening kickoff to midfield and their drive stalls around the 27 yd line. EN takes over on downs and takes their opening drive, with the help of a couple of PC penalties, to the PC 31 and punt on 4th and 16. 0-0 score with 3:10 left in the 1st.
Thank you Gary for finally believing the Yellow Jackets can at least keep this game close. I would have expected you to predict something in the neighborhood of MC 100- Springfield minus 6.
Thats right, myself included. Probably should have been 14-14 with 9 minutes left in the first half with neither teams D able to stop either offense after 2 drives apiece.
Anyone know the difference in yardage, not counting the 3 shotgun victory formation kneeldowns? Just guessing it was a bigger gap than the scoreboard suggests.
