  1. I'm not going to say he is a contender for a medal, but our HWT, Jesse Cross will make some noise and be a very solid opponent. He has an outside shot at a medal given the right spot in the bracket and a few good matches. He has been wrestling for years, now has the size, and from what I hear has put in the extra work to prepare for his senior season.
  2. Sorry coach, I might get a little excited and maybe I'm biased but the hard work that the coaching staff and all these kids working year round is paying off. I wasn't even thinking about the dual title, but I would agree with you, we are in the hunt for sure! I know you have to be humble and I appreciate that but with this lineup, finally, the schools in Bradley County are chasing us. If we medal 8 kids and put half in the finals, no one is catching us. I agree, it will be very fun and I hope we fill the bleachers for every match this season.
  3. I'm still a little unclear on Wysong's eligibility at Cleveland but after what I've heard surrounding the transfer, I don't think he will be eligible this season. Given that, and at the risk of sounding like a homer, I think Science Hill is the clear front runner for a state title. With Nate, I think Cleveland makes it a battle. Otherwise The Hill has too many returning weapons along with adding a few freshman and sophomores that have been mentioned before. We have 8 potential medalist, probably at least 4 finalist and maybe 5 if we have a great tournament. Mann Seeley* Story* James* Diehl* Kalogeros Brown Medina In addition, we have a few just sitting outside a medal and will score real points. This is the year that we bring a gold trophy back to East Tennessee!
  4. That's not the case with one of them.
  5. SH has kids in the pipeline also. They also have kids who were JV this season that could have placed in Region and made noise at state. Stiltner was thrown in at the end, with a full varsity season he can go deep at state. Joseph Frye will be an immediate contributor. I see him on the same level as some of the highly talented freshmen who medaled this season. They only lose Brown up top. Hope they go back to Cleveland duals next year.
  6. Compare the two lineups. Head to head or in a tournament, I believe SH comes out on top.
  7. Science Hill is the team to beat next year. They return all 3 placers and will have 3-4 more at least. Hard to say they're not a favorite with 7+ place winners.
  8. Thanks for noticing our boys. That's all I'm saying. Didn't mean to seem overzealous. I don't want to put a target on anyone but won't be surprised if any of those I listed place. Didn't say all would place.
  9. 106120 132 138 152 160 182 Keep laughing. Any of those could place. At least 3 will and the other 4 have a great shot. Talk to me Sunday.
  10. We will win it for sure if we have 10 on the podium! Yes, I might be a little biased but we have some good kids that just go unnoticed. Six or seven could medal, no doubt some would have to have a few things go their way but it's not a huge stretch.
  11. I'm not going to call out individuals, no undue pressure needed but I'll just say this is a great team and don't be surprised to see them at the top of the team list on Saturday.
  12. We have beat several kids on this list. I like the sleeper role too but those who know realize we are a threat. We will show up this week! Looking forward to a great weekend and our boys and girls making Johnson City proud.
  13. I'll tell you who everyone is sleeping on, Science Hill! They have shown all year long that they belong at the top! Third in State Duals already and multiple tournament championships. Fell just a few points short at Region but they will come through this weekend. I'm picking the Toppers as state runner up--6 individual place winners, 2 champions, and several others very deep in their brackets.
