Also, I may be dead wrong. However, I do not think I am. I am telling you this game is going to be closer than people think. This UC team is really good. I have no kid or family member playing there I just have first hand knowledge of how good this junior class is. UC takes a lot of pride in their football program and I fully expect UC to give EW a great game.

Did they call Lausanne? They have played the last several seasons without 10 games...

Do not overlook UC for the next couple of years. I am telling you these boys are tough. EW should win in a blow out... I fully expect the game to be closer than most think. If, I am wrong I will eat my crow. However, I do not believe so. This UC team is different. Just sharing my thoughts.

Tyrone, I agree. The hogs up front make it tough for any opponent. I glanced at the schedule I have a hard time finding a team to beat them.

From my experience in broadcasting the folks that watched the games were either out of town or family of a player, band member, cheerleader, etc. If you have a kid playing or you really want to go to the game you are going to buy a ticket. Also, I personally saw numbers of tickets sales actually went up for schools that had live coverage. Seems crazy, but it is what I saw. I think it comes from better exposure and folks talking about the games on the air and around the community. There are some really fine broadcasters and productions in the WTN area. There is also some trash. Broadcasting is hard job. You either have it or your don't. If you think you just pick up a headset and start talking you are sadly mistaken. When I would get done broadcasting a game on Friday night I would be completely gassed at the end of the night.

^^^^this^^^^ I don't think most folks have a full understanding of how the " scholarships " work. If your kid is a freak and do mean freak athlete he might get a D1 scholarship. If he is not a freak and just a good athlete ( 99% ) of players he is not going to college for free. I had to explain to a friend of mine that was over the moon excited her son earned a scholarship to play at a small private christian school. I was excited for them as well. However, after I explained the math to her and she realized this was not a good deal for them he ultimately did not go there and went to a state school. The school offered him a $10,000 scholarship to come to the private school. Unfortunately, the tuition for this school is $47,000 a year. The family was going to be out $18,5000 a semester for the kid to go to school there. Just does not make sense to me. Also, I believe in freedom. If the kid wanted to continue to play at the college level I am happy there is a place for him to play. However, you are paying to play not being reward a full ride to play.

All sports have turned into year around sports. I hate it. I wish athletes would play all the sports. I think the hyper focus on individual sports causes injury and a lot of time causes athletes to lose interest in whatever sport they are doing year around. There are seasons for a reason.

This seems like a bit of a reach for me. However, I have to trust coach Cat in the central office. He knows football and he must really believe in this young man. I can't argue 1 way or the other because I do not know him. This is his first HC gig and I wish him the best.

Yeah, SGC was extremely fortunate to make it out of Selmer with a win that season. I was on the call and it was all knotted up up with under 2 minutes left in the contest. SGC broke a huge run in the last few minutes and scored. I predict the exact same thing happening this year in this region. However, what team is it going to be? The top teams in the region all can make an argument that they should be favored to win the region... There are a couple of teams that we do no know much about that may surprise us. I love football. I am so very happy that it is right around the corner! BPM is still ugly.

Agree. I will be watching how this region plays out very closely. It should be a lot of fun to see it unfold. I have a feeling there is going to be a pretty good football team sitting at home when the playoffs start. I remember about 5 years ago McNairy county was sitting out the house and they would have destroyed any team that region 7 played that night. Unfortunately for them, they were in the 5 spot and did not even get a chance to dance with the prom queen because they did not get to the dance.
