SGC - 24 FRA - 18 Final It was a tale of 2 different halfs of football. The first was dominated by SGC in everything except the scoreboard. SGC goes to the locker room with a 10-0 lead at the half. We DOMINATED every stat your can think of but came up short on points on a couple of long drives that stalled inside the redzone. The second half FRA finds the passing game and starts putting the ball in the playmakers hands. FRA is a good football team and will win some games this year. They have some wrinkles they need to work out but they are by no means a pushover. They have some really talented kids especially there front 3. Both DT's and the nose are really big and tuff. SGC had a really hard time running between the tackles tonight. The panthers are young but are ready to play some ball! Good luck to the panthers the rest of the season!!!

WOW is about all i can say. I must confess i didnt see that coming. I knew Peabody would not lay down but i thought Milan would pull away as the game wore on. This has to be a huge confidence booster for the tide! Congrats on a big win!!!!

I saw that!!!! The qb can throw the ball a country mile and it looks like a dart. I hope we can get pressure on the qb with our front and not give him time to throw the ball around the yard.

I do not know much about FRA. I can only go by what I have seen on film. They have a some talent and some size up front. I think they will get a couple of gimmick scores where they catch SGC out of position but I think SGC wins. SGC must continue momentum after the big win over Lexington. SGC - 32 FRA - 17

Has TCA and JCS always played? I was surprised when I saw that USJ was not on the schedule.

Being very truthful I thought Lexington was going to be a lot better. I dont know if they over looked SGC and we just surprised them early or what.... But none the less it was all SGC. When is the breakfast? Im a cheap date a sausage mcgriddle is fine with me! On to next week do you know anything about FRA? we play them at there house this friday. Lastly, Whats up with your lions putting such a whooping on JCS all about? Figured the coach would have called the dogs off when they were up by 30 .

SGC came out firing on all cylinders. They won on offense, defense, and special teams. The second touchdown came in trash time against our 3s. So the game was really a 5 TD running clock. Lexington didn't execute very well at all. Im not going to take a ton away from this game because it is week one. Lexington is always good and they simply did not play well tonight. Lexington brought a great crowd to the game. Good luck the the big red machine the rest of the year! SGC on the other hand looked like they were ready to play with anyone in the region. We shall see this is why I love high school football. You just never know. Its final SGC 34 LEX 14

I was not there so I cant report but I still say that If those teams played again 10 times Liberty would have won 9 of them.

I am a SGC guy to the core. Thanks for your fair thoughts. The triple option is nasty if you have the players to run it.... IF and that's a big IF. SGC returns a huge senior class and should give the big red machine a run for there money. I hope SGC pulls this one out but this is why we play the games! Thanks tradertwo

TRIPLE OPTION!!!!! Its really really really hard to teach or coach up but...... If you can its really hard to stop. Im looking forward to a great game. I do not think the game will be a blow out in either directions. Im sticking to my original thought SGC in a close game.

Can't disagree with any of the posts to this point. I love that Fin schedules tuff out of region games to get his teams better. Should be a good game. I think it will be a measuring stick for both teams to see where you are. If neither team as a ton of turnovers it should be a good gauge. ie Liberty lost to NSHS last year early but I think they turned the ball over 6 times so Liberty was probably the better team but NSHS won the game.

Hard for me to put a prediction on this game. So much unknown. Lexington historically is always good. Im going to go with SGC in a close contest. SGC - 20 Lex - 17

You know as well as I do that ward is just waiting for Morris to retire. If they hire someone else I will be shocked.

Its going to be really interesting to see how things play out for Milan after Morris retires and Ward takes over. I'm going to get my popcorn ready because its going to better than any motion picture on this board!!!

This season is going to be really really interesting to see how it plays out. Milan and bolivar IMO are the teams to beat BUT I can make a legit case for Covington and SGC. Thats why we play the games though.

Well past performance does count..... It just does. Its all coaching for me. Morris has proven time and time again that he will turn a lemon into lemonade. If your going to beat milan you better do it early because as the season gets longer they always just get better. With only one exception that I can remember.
