  1. Out of Chattanooga, it is the typical powerhouses again with some twists. On the private side Baylor & GPS should be favorites to contend for state titles again. CCS lost a lot of seniors & changed coaches as well as a move up in class. It will be tough for them this year with a freshman keeper and the move up and I don't see them contending for state for a third year in a row. Notre Dame looks to be a contender for their region title and yes Boyd added some new assistant coaches, 9 solid freshmen that play year round but are still incredibly young with only two seniors. On the public side Signal Mt should contend again deep into the state tourney. Soddy Daisy has a ton of senior offense but graduated their keeper to TN Tech and lost a junior center back that transferred to Darlington School in Georgia. If Soddy contends in the region it will be scoring fests and track meets. Not sure on East Hamilton but they were strong last year.
  2. As far as I know St Andrews and GB never made up their rainout. Without a head to head Grace has the tiebreaker going into district tournament play.
  3. Anyone played McMinn Central yet? Wow, in 10 years of coaching select and longer attending high school games I have never heard a coach or fans treat refs and players that way. Tonight I got to witness a special environment that could only be compared to "What Would You Do" or Jerry Springer. Those poor refs!

  5. Just remember while we are all passionate about soccer; board decisions, classifications, and high school sports here in TN revolve around the other football and the almighty dollar. While we wish girls soccer drew 2,000 fans paying $3 to park, $7 for admission, and $30 in concessions for Honey Boo Boo and her momma. Any reclassification was requested and granted for throwball and not soccer. On second thought, I'm glad momma and Boo Boo support the other football, but a decent crowd would ne nice.
  6. I was at the Boyd game last week and the Bucs had 1 first down that I remember. Their starting QB was hurt on the play. Unless SP is really weak it shouldn't be much of a contest.
  7. Now that the Fall 2017 girl's soccer season is underway and CCS has played both AA opponent Baylor to a 0-1 loss and A opponent Franklin Road Academy to a 7-0 win; does anyone disagree that CCS's appropriate classification should have remained above the 450 student cutoff? In discussion with FRA parents after Friday night's game, they feel the competition was definitely unbalanced. Looking at the results of the Baylor game, obviously CCS can compete at the AA level.
