Your entitled to your opinion however, the two kids I have on the team as alternates, were asked to be alternates before I was asked to step up and coach. They were asked, then I was asked about 4 to 5 days later. So i you want to say I got on through the “daddy ball” method that’s fine. But to give you an update we are 3-0 currently.

I think KG did a great job putting this team together on such short notice. I can tell you that is was certainly short notice, as I was contacted to make this trip as well and will be going. I think it’s a great opportunity for the kids that are going, and I know we are all excited about going. I am also looking forward to being around kids that I haven’t met yet.

Region 1 AAA also had medals.

Congrats to DB and Science Hill, they will represent Region 1 well. A little confused as to why DB forfeited out after losing a few matches up to 138?

I wouldn't automatically say these two will be wrestling for a state title, they could. But I think there are many other teams that will have something to say about who wrestles for a state title. (Science Hill, Wilson Central, Halls, etc...)

William Blount defeated Maryville 59-9, looks like Anderson defeated both Clinton and Powell in their district duals.

I would imagine that William Blount will be the 2nd team out of region 3.

If the discussion is State Duals, what two teams do your predict will represent each region at the duals?

Wanted to say congrats to TN High, Jeff County, and DB who went 1, 2, 3 at the Bill Brimer Brawl in the Hall this past weekend in a field of 25! Crockett made a strong push to get into the region duals last night by defeating TN High, 42-36. District 2 seeds will be decided tomorrow as Jeff hosts Mo. East and Mo. West, district 1 will be decided on the 16th as DB hosts Crockett. Any predictions? These duals are just a few weeks away!

Jefferson County defeated DB in our home opener 29-37. DB looked tough, very good squad be interesting to see them again.

I never count the vikings out, and you are correct they always seem to compete well year in and year out. Didn't mean to step on any toes, simply making an observation. Hope you all have a good season, love watching the region improve.

I do not believe they have the kids to fill the classes, I saw another dual where I believe they forfeited 4? I just included it since they were being listed with the ranked teams as an "Honorable mention". True, Chase Brown was also out for Halls anyways.

Dobyns Bennett and Morristown West, both finished ahead of TN high at Border Duals this weekend. Halls finished second in team points at Knox Catholic, just behind Heritage.

Jefferson County competed at the Catholic Invitational this weekend. Placing 6 (3 in the finals) and took 4th as a team behind Heritage, Halls, and Coahulla Creek. Any other Region 1 teams in action this weekend and have results? This should be a very interesting match up on Tuesday!

It's always good to see schools starting up programs! Claiborne County started a team this year as well (varsity level), Carter added a program as well.

Very true. DB defeated Morristown East last night 51-30, it was a close match up until the last few matches. It was really good to see that Morristown East had a full line-up don' t think they have had that in a long time! Seems like every squad has solid kids throughout their line-up, should be very interesting for the individual tournament.

Thank you, we are definitely doing some things differently and hope to be the second team traveling to state duals as a team. TN High defeated us last year by 10 last year and by 2 the year before, we are working to get back this year. We will have a tough test Tuesday as we take on DB, should be interesting to see how they do with Morristown East tonight. Thank you, we do have some kids that have wrestled for Joe and they came in prepared for the most part. We will still continue to develop them into the wrestlers they can be. Our middle schools are also getting better and having more kids come out.

The Hill is definitely the favorite this year, I have a lot of respect for that team and it’s coaches. We are hoping to be in the mix when it comes to region duals, big match for us on December 5th with Dobyns Bennett. Wrestling in the area is getting much better! Jeff vs Volunteer: 53-27
