if the coaching staffs were changed then PC would have won be 2-3 touchdowns. How many coaches are dumb enough to kick and xp for one late in the game when already up 13-12? PC did, a FG still beats you and if you went for 2 then the a FG only ties you. All night long stuff like that. #4, Kane Patteson got hurt and CPA was linebacker vulnerable to counters and bouncing outside. Ryan Elledge was wet ball off, Noah Henderson was dominant at WR. CPA K was hurt and they had no skill left for kickoffs or XP or FG. It was a wet, wear down game and the depth of CPA lines was the final decider. Both coaching staffs were hard headed and tried to force the game even when the weather obviously changed what could be done. Lots of near fumbles that might have been different if replay were available. PC always felt like they could just break it, only happened once but PC had more outside speed than CPA. Madden and West between the tackles is not the same as Kane Patterson between the tackles. Neither Bryce McCormick nor Patterson have been the defensive stalwarts they were last year (and earned schollies) because of injury/recovery. If they come back late and put it together then I might get to see Kane vs Eric Gray.
Both teams have talent and should handle themselves well on any Friday night. Speed kills which fits PC but CPA runs a system and lots of kids. If Elledge were on a dry field then CPA might have widened the gap, but it wasn't and it what it is.
