  1. really really great in a true down pour. To whomever replied that PC lost by 4 which makes their coaches str8, NOT TRUE. If CPA had kicked a FG then you would have lost by 1 which would have been prevented by going for 2. Totally dumb and wrong coaching move. Up by 1 then go for 2 especially with only 5 minutes in the game. Until the 4th Q neither team could finish. Great game to watch. The 2 play clocks were out of sync also which prevented their use. It was the remote in the officials pocket that screwed the clock.
  2. if the coaching staffs were changed then PC would have won be 2-3 touchdowns. How many coaches are dumb enough to kick and xp for one late in the game when already up 13-12? PC did, a FG still beats you and if you went for 2 then the a FG only ties you. All night long stuff like that. #4, Kane Patteson got hurt and CPA was linebacker vulnerable to counters and bouncing outside. Ryan Elledge was wet ball off, Noah Henderson was dominant at WR. CPA K was hurt and they had no skill left for kickoffs or XP or FG. It was a wet, wear down game and the depth of CPA lines was the final decider. Both coaching staffs were hard headed and tried to force the game even when the weather obviously changed what could be done. Lots of near fumbles that might have been different if replay were available. PC always felt like they could just break it, only happened once but PC had more outside speed than CPA. Madden and West between the tackles is not the same as Kane Patterson between the tackles. Neither Bryce McCormick nor Patterson have been the defensive stalwarts they were last year (and earned schollies) because of injury/recovery. If they come back late and put it together then I might get to see Kane vs Eric Gray. Both teams have talent and should handle themselves well on any Friday night. Speed kills which fits PC but CPA runs a system and lots of kids. If Elledge were on a dry field then CPA might have widened the gap, but it wasn't and it what it is.
  3. head to head Kane Patterson took down Ernst last night. Ernst should have had good numbers, had at least 3 11 yard carries as an oddity, but was zero threat. Ernst stopped Patterson mano y mano from the one a third down and Kane just walked on him into the end zone on the next play. 2 really tough kids and leaders without question for their team. Patterson and McCormick are a dynamic duo and Ernst is a sole avenger. I predict it comes down to regional voting bias and BGA will split CPA, so it will be a wait until next yr to win the award for Patterson. Methinks Lausanne will have another Mr Football in this class.
  4. can I take BGA over Lausanne in an early line? If Kane Patterson is hurt then ND over CPA, no other way that ND can win. Someone made a great point about FRA coaching, esp D where they truly line up wrong and are easily exploited.
  5. Webb could not get a space advantage, CPA's Patterson (got hurt) and McCormick dominated the field. Edge rush was good, middle was stacked up. Patterson, McCormick were the best on the field. Noah Henderson jr.WR for CPA had more speed and hands and size than any of the Webb kids. It was run clock by the end of the first half. Webb only scored late against second and third teamers playing because of injury. If Kane Patterson is not Mr. Football then the award is rigged. The junior class at CPA is almost everything that makes this year great. However, Kane and Noah both got hurt and that will change the whole outlook if they are not on the field for the Shams. Webb speed was matched by CPA is the direct answer to the question. More pressure from CPA and their speed is in bigger package. Noah Henderson had speed and size and hands and looked like the most D1 likely WR on the field. LOS is back to traditional CPA size and dominance. CPA will only graduate 112 in the senior class which is coed, but their system is in place and enthusiasm for the game is prevalent. Best team at the school is undefeated all time 6th graders. Webb dressed 34 kids in pads last night. CPA put 68 in pads plus injured. CPA in purple looks big and organized. I think if healthy it could be a BGA v CPA repeat. FRA was up 21-7 on Lausanne, for awhile got that down to 21-13 by half and then won out. CPA had them mercy ruled at FRA in the first half. Key to CPA season is still whether Kane Patterson can play at his level the rest of the way.
