I will say #20 should’ve had another pick for a pick 6. That pass interference call should’ve been on WH instead of the Jackets. Watched it on YouTube, it was a make up call for one missed earlier.

I was surprised WH left their starters in the whole game, after the game was decided in the fourth qt. I guess wanting to try and save a little face, but you risk injury to your main guys. With WH having a legit shot to finish second in the region and host a playoff game, it’s foolish to me to needlessly risk injury to your starters.

And that last one was with about 2 minutes to go......I’ll give them credit their two running backs are pretty good

Very true. If Porter was still their coach I could see him holding the petal down a little longer. Porter was known to pile them on Springfield whenever he got a chance. Very fitting his last game coached against the Yellow Jackets he got smoked.....never did really care for him.

It’s obvious it’s not about covid and more to do with SCS systems beef with the TSSAA. They’ve got to realize the rest of the state can absolutely play without them, but can they play without the rest of the state? It’s just ashamed that one mans pride can ruin something needed for so many kids.

It was. Think about this.....in a 7 season span there were 3 state championships won and 6-7 Mr. Football awards won in 20 mile radius of each other. Portland having 4 Mr. Football lineman awards in a row. Plus double dipping in 98 with Mr. Football back and lineman in the same season.

94-97 seasons. He was on a team that beat WH in 94 playoffs and the regular season I think. That Springfield team lost to Portland in the semi’s if my memory serves me correctly.

It’s mostly talent drop off. JBHS goes in cycles being as small as they are. They’ve got the same head coach that was there when Drew was the D coordinator. I’m sure the defense isn’t as good as they were when Drew was there, but he’s not the reason for the fall off. JBHS will cycle back around in another 3-4 and be a really good 1A team with some kids they’ve got coming up.

I have to agree with them. The whole region is down this year and Portland probably lost the most of anyone. I’d almost bet they finish last in region play

So back to the game......what happened to the blue devils in the games against Trousdale county and FRA? What did they do that gave them problems? TBH Springfield hasn’t been tested really, but they’ve handled the sub-par competition accordingly. I do doubt they get tested this Friday, but you never know with teenagers.

I’ll give you the benefit of the doubt on a lot of things because I haven’t seen you guys in person this year, but to say you guys aren’t far off from talent compared to Springfield is a far stretch. You’ve probably got some guys at a few position that could be very comparative to individuals from Springfield but has a team, no way. John was. That was the year he was gifted with an UNBELIEVABLE amount of talent and went 10-0 and screwed the pooch in the playoffs because he’s not head coach material.

A question for the White House faithful.....how will White House’s defense stack up against a Springfield offense that’s clicking better than any I’ve seen in a long time.

This game will end in similar fashion to the 2018 game did with White House getting thumped. Springfield has way to much talent for the Blue Devils to contain this year. I do wish White House could close the gap and make this game more competitive, but I don’t see it happening in the near future. Springfield by at least 3-4 TDs

I hate that for him and for Hardin County, definitely not how you want to see him end his high school career. They’ve still got a gunslinger at QB tho. Can beat you with his feet or his arm, one of the best in the state.
