I believe Karns is 8-3. We lost two to Halls and one to West. And we haven't made up a rain-out with Campbell County.

Karns 4 - Clinton 3 in a nail-biter.

Yeah Baseballmad. I watched the first Karns-Halls game and I thought your defense looked suspect. Then you came over to Karns and even though we put the ball in play quite a bit your guys played an error-free game.

Karns had two wins. They beat Coalfield 15 to 5 and Webb 11 to 1...

Our coach as he's walking away from a discussion with an ump: "We're in the Bermuda Triangle of officiating." When a runner gets thrown out trying to steal: "He's got deceptive speed. He's slower than he looks." or "He's so slow they time him with a calendar."

What can you say? - It's baseball. That's why the majors play 160 games. On any given night any team can win. In the long run, the best team will come to the top. Of the teams I've seen this year - and I've seen most of them - Halls is still the best time in the District. (tho' I hate to say it) Everyone should learn a lesson from this game. BAD. BAD. BAD. A lot of it seems to be just patently ridiculous. Does TSSAA even have authority to impose the 50% rule on "non-school" teams? The TSSAA seems to be bent on further degrading the quality of Tennessee athletics.

We were at Gibbs last week. Their new bleachers are still under construction but they are really nice. They're made of block and are elevated about 12 feet so spectators are looking down on the field. The dugouts are really "dug out" so they don't interfere with anyone's line of sight. Nice field - it'll be really nice when it's all done.

Karns beat Clinton last night. Clinton had a lot of problems in the field - six errors as I recall. Final score was 12 to 0. Lee Henry threw a no-hitter. He walked one batter who then got picked off stealing second. Way to go Lee!

Hey Rebelguy21 - you guys are coming over to see us tomorrow. I hope it's a good one. We didn't look too good against SD last night. Yes, they are good.

It truly is a tough way to end the season. To the O.R. fans I pose the question, "What if the shoe were on the other foot?" You know you would protest the game just as Halls did. I personally think pitching a high school kid two nights in a row is a bad thing. Nichols shouldn't have even seen the mound Saturday night. To his credit, Coach Fro owned up to his mistake and took it like a man. He is a class act for Oak Ridge. thumb p.s. I agree with the comments about the teams cheering in unison. I've seen a couple of local teams do it - not just Halls - and it is truly classless. It is obviously done to distract the pitcher. Come on guys, grow up and leave the orchestrated cheering to the girls.

One thing is clear to me - Larryboy knows the Beavers. After those comments and "colorful" descriptions of the players (fat? dumb?) he better either be their good buddy teammate or if he's not a teammate he needs to stay anonymous. I bet he's a teammate - especially considering the prediction he made
