This one matches up to be a good one. I’m kinda wondering though where all the “Peabody is best team in class 1A through 5A, and The East could put an all star team together and Peabody would beat them went”. Don’t get quiet now. You guys are the beast, we are just Meigs. However, my thoughts on Friday’s game- Receivers and Passing game spot freaking on!! Receivers caught everything and QB threw darts. #34 had bust out type game against big time competition. QB ran well, TC phenomenal in 1st half but then his punt return put us in business. Big #77 played game of his life. Defense 1st half lights out 2nd made some mistakes BUT big time play on 2 point conversion by #52 and several others. Maybe most physical game I’ve ever seen.

Great game! Credit Both teams with putting on a show. I can’t believe the outcome though. To Trousdale fans- thank you for your comments and attitude. The reason your tradition is so strong is you don’t whine. Proud of Meigs and Meigs fans

Trousdale fans- don’t be surprised to see the ghosts from cemetery hill lifting these Tigers up. You have the creek bank we have Decatur cemetery and our ghosts. Enjoy your ride but keep in mind you’re not coming here for a picnic.

Last year it was you would punish us and we had played a weak schedule and couldn’t handle the creek bank. This year it’s your defense and coaching are superior. If Trousdale wins I’ll be on here congratulating no matter how. I bet the same won’t be said the other way.

Much like Trousdale football seems you are paranoid... on the other hand just got out to stadium and put some “seats” out. Field had standing water... talked to a couple and they said heard Fitzgerald ran the sprinklers to try and slow down yellow jackets speed. Great idea.

Happy Thanksgiving! No need to talk about what we can do through the air or what our other backs can do or what our QB can do. The vaunted Trousdale Defense is too much to handle for our offense. Our offensive line will be bullied by a defense far superior to last years and #23 apparently is the 2nd coming of Lawrence Taylor. Trousdale remember what I’m telling you; better stay up all night because Decatur is where dreams die. Inside some numbers: thanks to coacht MC at home over last 4 years: 30-1 Points for/against at home this season. 418-60 (9 games) 46.4- 6.6 TC on road last 4 years: 19-6 Points for/ against on the road: 186-54 (7 games) avg. 26.5- 7.7

Yes!! Several of the fans were extremely complimentary after the game. Saw a couple at gas station on way out and they were great. I think a little heckling is ok and part of it. I believe being thick skinned is a great trait but cursing kids or some of the other stuff crosses the line. I’m excited for turkey and dressing , hunting on Thanksgiving, big fat nap watching the Lions and that Meigs is still playing. No disrespect but I believe, no matter the outcome, we are the team who can knock Peabody off their pedestal. If Trousdale represents though I’ll pull for them.

Weathers going to be nice but it was a monsoon last night. Had to wake up the wife and have her hold umbrella because of all the holes in the roof. According to players yes Trousdale fans stood in their letterman jackets yelling at them in the locker room doorway. Also hear horror stories about the locker room and toilets from our coaches. Never mentioned it after game— no whining or excuses. But your kids won’t have that, dress Area will be clean, restrooms clean and they will have safe walk to the field. You will be treated well until the game starts; then the feeding frenzy will proceed

I’m guessing Trousdale is an unbeatable that Meigs is not worthy to be on field with. Our QB doesn’t deserve any credit our defense is soft. Just keep putting on your letterman jackets and standing in our doorway yelling at our kids. Oh wait it’s in Decatur. Bring your best.

I don’t think a single Meigs poster has said anything except that you were the better team that day. Ask the player and I bet he’ll agree and never mention being sick. I bet this team or coaches wouldn’t make excuse for that loss just like I never heard them make excuses after last years loss to Trousdale.

Our offense doesn’t change.. it is vanilla, boring and really hard to watch. We are overrated, haven’t played anybody, have no tradition and lucky to even be playing. Our defense is small, slow and soft. They are afraid to hit and just hope the RB falls down. As for pass defense we do our best work when the other team is running by our secondary shouting I’m open. All that being said it’ll be a blowout and TC will roll into Cookeville healthy and happy.

The barn is an indoor facility w heat and turf. Stadium may not be huge but it’s Home. It would be nice to have big stadium like some in Chatt where just like there we could never fill it. Ask Vandy If they had our capacity they might fill it

Im Meigs all the way but love this type of quote! Everyone should read this.. it should be posted in every school, principals office and board of education. It should be posted in every court house/ mayors office. These kids and coaches give up family time to play the game they love and for you. Don’t they deserve a full house and cheering fans? Don’t they deserve you to be there when they play EVERY game. Because they play for the name of their school/ community or hometown and NOT for the name on the back of their jersey.

TC is the standard. Last year was classic game on the “bank”. Hoping for the same atmosphere with different outcome. Last year, no referee interference, no dirty play no whining when it was over. 2 teams who played hard for 48 minutes with their entire communities standing with them. Night to remember. I believe we gained some respect that night now let’s get the W

Well Oneida always plays the sportsmanship angle but why cry. There offense got after our defense but ANYBODY who thinks #19 gets his way should have watched the 2 plays where he got hit late and out of bounds. As for #51 I’m sure they were complaining. Now on to Trousdale. Nothing but respect! #5, #7 were tremendous last year and I expect nothing less. The winner will truly be the best in the East.

It’s getting close. It’s time for all Tigers to start roaring. There is a home field advantage in Meigs County! We saw one last year at Trousdale. The ones who say there isn’t home field advantage are just jealous of those who do have it.

Game Day and it’s looking like rain but maybe not much during the game. Looking back to last year though we had one of our best passing games in the rain at Trousdale. Maybe the Navy kid likes the water. I’m going to make my pick- MC 35-9. Big receiver explodes back on the scene.

SHHH it’s quiet. Indians trying to sneak attack. Thing is that Tigers will attack when provoked or unprovoked and I’ve heard this group of Tigers are mad. Some Oneida comment that “We believe we are the most physical team and in the mud they can’t run away from us”

Just hoping ALL of Meigs shows up! I know Oneida will come in force and hope somebody brings one of those Raezachs burgers with Cajun okra. Regardless if weather this game should be entertaining.

Agree. Swafford hasn’t played in many 4th quarters either. Once we are up 28-35 he’s out. Truth is though that’s the way it should be. Hate stat chasers.
