  1. I'm still waiting on an answer. Maybe Weasel will come out and tell us why his boy Clifford cancelled.
  2. When you asked me that question several popped in my mind. Stacy was a really good player. I will have to give this some serious thought because there have been a lot of top notch players come from that school. I'll give it some thought and give you my opinion after I ponder on it for a while.
  3. I was not trying to take away from hitting just trying to let people know we use both pitchers and as you know a pitcher "takes" the loss or the win in stats not like the other players as far as statistics go. Just read the paper. In my most improved post I gave all the girls credit for how well they played during the Ooltewah tournament. We beat East Ridge during the Soddy tournament and honestly I don't think anyone did much offensively it was a very close game. There were some really good hits in the Baylor game but I don't remember who. And they were hits not errors. We actually lost to East Ridge in the Ooltewah tournament. What are you disagreeing on? I am confused. We all know when the hitting stops the winning stops. Aren't we experiencing that right now? I just want it to come back. Who is underappreciated? I have always given any Ooltewah girl credit when she earns it. Dana is hitting really well right now coming back from her surgery. Rice, Saunders, and Jenkins are hitting and this is the only offense I see. I hope they all come around soon. I know they can I just don't know when they will. Maybe in the district tournament that would be a "good" time to peak!
  4. Are you saying we should be ashamed of that record just because Soddy has a better one? Well I am not. A lot of teams would love to have a record like that especially since 7 of the games were lost by one run. No one is trying to convince anyone of anything. Soddy has a great team. The best in the state we will know in May won't we? Are they unbeatable? No, anyone can beat anyone at any given time. Of Course I hope it is Ooltewah that gives them there loss but you know what you guys would be just like Baylor if Ooltewah did beat Soddy there would be a million excuses why. No one wants to give any one else any credit get over it there are other good teams out there and Ooltewah happens to be one. Did I say the best? No. Did I say better than Soddy? No. but they are a good team and certainly capable of dealing a loss to any other team out there. youwilneverno needs to come out and give us some credit for beating Baylor and East Ridge after he questioned us on who we had beat and when those 2 were named he went back into hiding. Typical behavior when facts are stated. By the way Thomas gave Baylor the loss and Rice gave it to East Ridge so don't go starting no crap about that.
  5. That was the weekend I declared Ooltewah the most improved team they played really well and there were some great catches in the outfield in that game. I don't remember our girls playing that deep. I really don't think there would have been that many homeruns because I don't see where Baylor has been hitting that many out this year. Baylor has graduated some very talented girls recently could that have anything to do with the win? We all know no one is going to give Ooltewah credit for beating a good team. Go Mary Catherine u r great my fovorite Baylor girl!!
  6. Some girls are hitting consistently. Some are really struggling and if it was just against good pitching I could understand it. I agree that Jackie Mclain was a great hitter but the best to come out of Tennessee? I don't know that I would go that far. I have watched a lot of softball in Chattanooga for a long time and have followed Ooltewah closely. I am a graduate of OHS and was there when they first started the softball program and when Jim Lovell brought the first state title home. I was also there when Coach Nelson pitched Leanne Mongar back to back and was sitting in the winners bracket and lost to Beech twice to lose the state title. I have seen a lot of softball and can name a lot of girls that have come from Chattanooga that could maybe help with the hitting. But, that is probably not an option. I think sometimes coaches do all they can and then it must be placed in the players hands. If they have the "heart" drive, desire, and determination they will ultimately be successful. It is not always the most talented player that performs the best. I also believe you can surround an average pitcher with a really good defense and offense and make them look really good. That is how I judge great pitchers not the ones that are on the best teams but the ones that consistently keep there teams in games. I asked you recently who you thought was great? It did not surprise me that every pitcher you named is surrounded by a really good team. Megan Rhodes was the exception and did not play in a district as tough as Ooltewah. What do you think about Abbott at Tennessee? Did you watch her in the games against Georgia this past weekend? This is just my opinion and I'm not going to change it. I just wanted you to know I too have watched a lot of softball and will continue to do so.
  7. Honestly I have come to the opinion that you are just ignorant!
  8. Club K is the only reason that Middle Tennessee teams can now compete with Chattanooga teams. Don't kid yourselves give credit where credit is due. I cheer for all Chattanooga teams unless they are playing Ooltewah and I think most fans do. Whatever Chattanooga team makes it to the state I will be cheering for them to bring it back to Chatt! Overtaken. Osama.................are you stupid?
  9. Well, everybody has said all kinds of stuff but no one hadsanswered my question WHY DID CLIFFORD CANCEL THE GAME?
  10. Come on soddy fans why was the game cancelled it is not like Clifford to declare co champions and cancel a game on a sunny day?
  11. I never said Ooltewah was a great team. Even though I think they have the potential to be, I said they had some great players She has given up 3 earned runs in 19 innings and 2 of them were the homeruns last night. They were not good pitches she hung em and they ripped em. Some of the pitchers you have called great have given up some homeruns recently also. Rice gave up 2 earned runs last night after pitching 5 shut out innings. You and I will never agree on this so I am not going to say it anymore. I think the kid is a great pitcher. I have obviously watched her a whole lot more than you. She shuts these same kids out on her summer team when she is surrounded by a better defense and more offensive support. Great pitchers have bad games as I have said before. Soddy is a great team. Ooltewah played really well in the Ooltewah tournament and I just gave them some credit. If you go back and look you will see since then we have not hit the ball and I have made that clear. Ooltewah has scored 2 runs in 21 innings it is hard to win games that way. I do not know why they are not hitting. You seem to think you know a lot about the game have you got any good drills we might try? They are not hitting any kind of pitching good, bad, average I mean none! Maybe it's those demons in there head that you mentioned recently do you think an exorcist might help? Go Ooltewah !!!!!!!!!!!
  12. Anybody can beat anybody at any given time. You better lose some of that Soddy arrogance the district tournament is coming up. Granted you have bragging rights until someone does beat you but what is so big about beating Ooltewah according to you they do not have the players to beat Soddy so why act so high and mighty when you beat them? And just FYI Ooltewah has beat East Ridge and Baylor this year. And oh yeah Rice is still sitting on that bucket.
  13. And in addition Ooltewah can't beat anybody right now. They couldn't buy hits if they had a million bucks.
  14. What about East Ridge or Red bank do you think they could beat them?
  15. I do not think Soddy as a team is overrated. I think some of the individual players are. Clifford knows how to motivate and get the most from his players. A lot of players that played there in the past once they go on to college do not perform like they do for him. Of course I know that is true for a lot of high school athletes but there really is a trend there. You are exactly right about girls moving there just to play it had always happened and will probably continue as long as they are so successful. I agree with you a lot of teams could beat them but, until they do nothing changes.
  16. I wanted to make sure you hadn't changed your mind. If Waters is one of the two best where do you rate Fairbanks? Waters injury has not slowed the Trojans down at all.
  17. Hey Bleacherbum is Soddy overrated? They too have a great coach, but what do you think and tell me why. I think they are a great team and Clifford will have them there fighting hard in the end.
  18. I'm glad to see Fairbanks get some credit she deserves it!
  19. ok, so are yousaying you have an on base percentage and a reached on error percentage? That is gettting really technical. It is also contradicting the wording because regardless of how you get there you are on base. I will continue to figure our obp including roe. Thanks for the info!
  20. Made it to the quarterfinals lost to Goodpasture 2 to 0.
  21. I have heard she will be out for a month and I have heard she will be back sooner. I do not believe Blevins hit any homers sthis weekend. Lincoln County has beat Soddy twice and I believe Waters pitched the first time. I don't think pitching is the deal against that team. Sodddy cannot hit this pitcher. She has held them twice.
  22. Let us know how that game goes I bet it will be a good one.
  23. I am not sure but I don't think she was able to pitch any. I know as of Saturday afternoon she had not. She hurt her back.
  24. Owens beat them twice so obviously they can be beat and obviously it wasn't a fluke. I watched her this past weekend and actually talked to her. She is a real sweet girl. Congratulations to her on beating a great team twice! Someone needs to give some credit to the Fairbanks kid too who has stepped in and filled the pitching shoes all by herself and Soddy doesn't seem to have missed a beat while Waters has been injured. Just more compliments to Clifford on his coaching. Did Goodpasture play Soddy this past weekend?
