  1. I was told that Top 100's is not allowed to be hosted at a school, but it is obvious that rules are bent for some to host it. Honestly the fact that there is not a Top 100 in the Nashville is crazy. It would definitely pull more states in being that people enjoy coming to Nashville and also it truly is in Middle Tennesse which is one section of the Medal Series.
  2. Siegel Middle is looking for a head coach. It was a "first year" program with 40 kids but has had a very active and successful K-8 club program that feeds it. Teaching and Education Assistant jobs are available including PE If you are interested please reach out to Donovan Freeman (freemand@rcschools.net) Clay Taylor (starstnwrestlingclub@gmail.com)

  4. TNUSA is growing and it is awesome to see it happening. I know from our club we grew triple the size we have had in the past even tho some did not wrestle this weekend. I agree that the event needs to become a 2 day event or different venue. TNAAU State and the Top 100 Series are normally hosted at sites that could accommodate TNUSA number while also allowing room to grow. The only other complaint I heard/told about were the medals. Medals are not the end goal as most of us know BUT for a-lot of these kids medals play a factor. If TNUSA wants to continue growth especially with the younger kids they need to step up their medals. With a change in venue and medals along with upping the gate fee I believe you could help fill the money gap.
  5. Nice. Nobody knows what happens behind the scenes. It is nice to know we at least tried. Would love to help work on trying to try to find funding for the girls for future events.
  6. I agree!! Adding girls to this event and WN1 seems pretty easy. Even if you dont want to do full line up highlighting some matches would be great. The girls work just as hard as the boys and get ignored by TN organizations every year. When will Hatcher let them shine??
  7. At 113lbs yall assuming Jakobs gets by the winner of Boltz vs. Creque. Both are returning placers.
  8. Recruiting in our sport will continue happen as long as nobody turns teams in on it. I notice it all the time when kids wrestle on these summer dual teams and then end up at that coaches school.
  9. I see your point but when you have to reserve hotel rooms and vans for travel you cant cancel last minute and not be charged for those items. TNUSA does not have the money to cover all the expenses. The logical answer is to have the kids pay an amount by a certain time to reserve their spot.
  10. Ticknor has been involved with the National Girls team since he moved here after the Marines. He also coached the National Girls team in Michigan. He has been coaching at Siegel since then. I know that the girls team had multiple girls dropout last minute. I also know some girls that normally would wrestle did not wrestle due to injury and preparing for Fargo. I truthfully dont see how going to a national duals tournament isn't viewed as preparing for Fargo. Im sure if any other girl coaches wanted to step up and help that it would be welcomed. I think the Girl Coaches should be pushing their athletes to go represent the state. If coaches encouraged the girls to wrestle on these teams then maybe having holes wouldn't be an issue.
  11. Stars will be hosting a camp at Siegel High School on June 5th and 6th 9am to 3pm. Cliff Fretwell will be the technician and he will be teaching his Granby and Leg Ride Defense. We will take a break for lunch so bring a lunch and drinks. This is the link to Register. https://gnwa.wufoo.com/forms/siegel-hs-granby-leg-ride-defense-camp If you have any further questions please email starstnwrestlingclub@gmail.com
  12. They are not the only programs in the Middle Tennessee area. You the Stars Wrestling Club and Middle Tennessee FRECO club also. I do agree I wish more kids would train Freestyle/Greco. I know Stars Wrestling is taking a decent group to Iron Man this weekend
