  1. We appreciate everyone being flexible and coming to wrestle at our place yesterday. Great day of competition indeed. Appreciate Charles Pulliam from the Williamson Herald for coming out and covering the event as well. http://www.williamsonherald.com/sports/wrestling-fairview-tips-hat-to-johnny-drennan-memorial-hosts-high-caliber-8-team-tourney/article_574f2906-533f-11eb-a861-d7b82f94b5c6.html
  2. Clevenger has started the season at 220 but not sure where he will be in January.
  3. Thinking outside of just teams, some kids I’ve enjoyed watching over the summer that are top notch wrestlers and humans: Garret Foreman at PF Parrish Pacetti at Hixson Hunter Mason at Greeneville Kodiak at Greeneville Dalen Kimble at Sycamore Just to name a few. We return a very talented young team with some experienced juniors and seniors at Fairview. My son who was 152 last year is 182 lbs this year. Will be fun to see where everyone is at this year in weight and where everyone will be wanting to get to after Christmas.
  4. Mostly state placers/finalists on this team. We still need a 106 and a hwt. Great opp for mat time.
  5. We have a team going from Mid TN down to Deep South duals. We definitely need a 132, 170, 220, and HWT. The tournament is in Birmingham, AL Friday and Saturday 7/24-7/25. Email me at [email protected] or text me at 615-627-8708 if interested or if you'd like to see the flyer. This is HS Folkstyle team with a 1lb allowance. Team fee is $60. We aren't doing t-shirts or singlets, just going for mat time and some great competition. Should get 8-10 matches during the two days.
  6. Benefits: 1. Opportunity for all kids of all levels to stay exposed to wrestling in the off season to continue to learn and grow at their own pace. 2. Short travel for large room (lord knows we've heard enough about the bradley/Chatt rooms) 3. Fairview may have 3 kids want to do work intermittently through the "off season" to supplement their national/FS/Greco competition schedule. At fight nights they have several like minded kids in the room with them when they want to show up to do extra work, whereas if they didn't have fight nights, two kids would have to get a coach to let them in the gym to get in some work. 4. Stay in shape 5. Learn from other kids and coaches 6. Stay connected to big school and D2 kids that they competed against for years in AAU Disadvantages: While I'm at it, let me go ahead and thank these coaches and programs for their commitment to raising the level of competition across the board in middle tn and opening their doors to kids from our program and others. Some wise man once said, "It's just small school, who cares?" Well we do at Fairview and apparently so do several coaches who afford us an opportunity to grow with them despite our school division status.
  7. Coach, catch up with Jeff Bennett from Fairview next time you see him. He had the exact same experience. Eric Church donated the money to our club to buy the mat and his lawyer ended up having to handle it after months of broken promises and non delivery. Seems the norm not the exception with that group.
  8. Fairview will be hosting Coach Buck Watkins (Wrestling Mindset Coach) on July 13th and 14th at the Fairview HS Auxiliary Gym located behind the school off King Rd. Saturday's session will start at 8:30 and run through 2:30 with lunch provided and Sunday will be noon through 5:00 pm with a snack provided in the afternoon. This camp is for 3rd grade through 12th grade and wrestlers will need their AAU card at check in. You can email me at [email protected] for the flyer/registration form ahead of time and you can send completed registration to me at that email as well. Also, feel free to call or text me at 615-627-8708. Cost is $50 for either day or $75 for both days. Registration will be capped out at 75 wrestlers.
  9. Lots of teams looking for MS kids to fill their rosters for the Memorial Day weekend tournament. Contact [email protected] to be added to free agent list. Send wrestlers name, weight, email and phone number. I sent my kids track profile too.
  10. Just FYI Biffmar4 is me, Biff Curtis, 615-627-8708. You guys lose all credibility with me when you make silly accusations about one person having multiple accounts. If you were to put a price on the line items, what would it cost? Simple question.
  11. First time poster. No dog in the fight. Here’s my thoughts, I don’t even know total number of days but when you start putting amounts to what’s included, you can see how the figure can get to $1500. Maybe some are more, maybe some less and maybe some amount goes back to the club and it should. Until you’ve volunteered your time (basically a full time second job) for a youth non profit, it’s understandable to not be clear what it takes. How much would it take you to feed, house, and fly or drive your kid to Fargo? Then you can pay for your coaches certification and pass to coach your kid. Lastly, I see where there are two emails if there are more questions. Has anyone tried those options? This includes -Camp $200 -Gear $100 -Food $100 -Lodging $500 -Travel $400 -Coaching $100 -Entry to Tournament $100 Any Questions please contact Ben Bowers TNUSA Chairman [email protected] or Nelson Shirley West Region Director [email protected].
