where can we see the pic?
-
He has a twin I'm sure. So it could have been him, unless you saw a pic of both of them there
-
At this point. let it all play out. Prep will win the state title. It will be vacated (who cares). The kids will probably get rings or something. The school will fold. And then at that point, the TSSAA needs to declare every kid academically ineligible that is enrolled at that school since there was no actual education taking place. So those kids won't be able to transfer anywhere and play.
-
I don’t want to see games fixed. But…maybe officials know all about this and make some nice ill timed calls and Santa Fe wins
-
Does Bibb go back to Stone?
-
What is it. Like his 4th trip leading them to the glass house. Grass ain’t always greener. He had done well. Making it out of that region is tough knowing the past years you had to play either Pickett or Clarkrange in the semis.

How are we really on page 17 of a guy who literally spends his time in investing in our youth. Did he recruit? Maybe. Maybe not. Did he make Smith County better?. Maybe. Maybe not. Recruiting has happened for years across this state. This wouldn’t be the first time. And most people sit on this board and talk about how great those coaches are. I can tell you that Matt invest in kids not just for the court but for the future. Will I defend him. Yes. But to sit here and bash a guy who wants what’s best for the children around him. Y’all are crazy.

Who is going to beat Eagleville or Chatt Prep to get to the title game?
-
how did he end up there? His mom even still teaches for Pickett
-
I am pretty sure they do. according the TSSAA website for this year. I shows actual attedance of 123 and a classification attendance number of 246. so I'm guessing they doubled in attendance and that is now how they got the 500 number.
-
If that’s the case. Then they need to be automatically moved up in classification. No way your enrollment jumps that much for whatever
-
well. you nailed that one. Looks like its Layne Bussell, head coach at Algood Middle School
-
Will they just go across the river and get Bibb?
-
Unless TSSAA does something drastic in the classification and where prep schools can play, its Chatt Prep.
-
so question. if a kid starts his first 2 years at a school. then wants to play in the next school over. will there have to be a move to go to that school or can he just go to that school? who approves the transfer? with chatt prep and these other charter schools it seems there doesn't have to be a move or anything. just make the transfer. or does tssaa have to approve that transfer as well?
-
Sad that all of us on here have figured out all that is going on at Chatt Prep. I get that they may be playing by the “rules”, but sad that so many kids across the state had their seasons end because of these situations. I’m guessing the TSSAA won’t do anything about it, until it starts messing with the big schools
-
yeah its a charter school. there has been other discussion in another thread. basically the school started. they hired a "basketball trainer" to be the head coach and his twin to be the assistant. their first year of high school ball they made substate with 8th and 9th graders. they lost. now they are in the state tournament the past two years. the "basketball trainer" started the year, but a quick google search of his name will let you figure out why he aint the coach anymore. now his twin brother is the coach. so yeah. they can basically recruit all over the metro area and form their all star team with public education money.
-
Same thing. Basically a team put together and in their third year of existence but first in high school they make substate. And then 2 straight state tournaments. Just out of nowhere here they are.
-
so yeah. so the one twin who used to be the head coach was a basketball trainer. doing a quick google search, ( I think there is some "reasons" he is no longer the coach. so brother steps in and becomes the coach. I agree that charter schools need to be moved to d-2. look at the charter schools a few years ago in Memphis. the one that lost to clay in the championship game just up and closed. and then another one will pop up. not saying they don't do good things for the kids in the community. but when you have open zones and can pick and choose who gets in, its interesting.
-
Pickett County, Jackson county and Shelbyville all have done a 4 peat.
-
They had a junior class this year
-
That may have to do with the connection rule. One of the rules in that ruling is that you can’t be connected to a personal trainer. Interesting.
-
So I was kinda wrong. One collins is the coach. Twin brother runs a basketball training company.

Yes
