Science Hill is so Jekyll/Hyde this year, you just never know what you are going to get.    I'm going with the Toppers by a TD

In reality the Jekyll /Hyde ???? is what WB offense will that reeves man use. We may see the old school "T" in the deck of cards this week vs. Science Hill. Already has used (Wing T, Spread) Could take a couple plays from the Bolt offense that beat them last friday.

Govs do not score FYI. Science Hill 49- 0 , running clock by half-time.

@BarneySox2007 you know Mr. Cupp screen name is @etcoach

Whether they see or hear worse on TV has zero to do with this. You are supposed to put people of character in your classrooms and in your locker rooms especially at this level. This is a completely different situation. If you are to mold and teach young men, this isn't it.

Not to mention he's portraying something he isn't teaching. Did you read the excerpt from the Daily Times I posted? This is also the coach that used specific quotes from these message boards in his press conference when he was announced as head coach. He cannot himself eliminate outside noise and therefore is instilling more garbage in the heads of these boys.

We are all allowed to have differing opinions but, like @camppacksaid, GQ wouldn't do this and I'm pretty dang sure Hunt, Nix, Reeves, anybody in the area for that matter isn't making it abundantly clear their team better not embarrass THEM (not the school, but selfishly THEM) by losing a rivalry game.

I would hate to know my son (or grandsons) are sitting in that locker room listening to that trash. Not one thing he said was motivational, not one thing he said had anything to do with actually setting the tone for rising above the 'outside noise'.

I'm sure this morning will be filled with damage control at HHS.

Not defending Coach O for his words of choice, but clearly you do not watch enough college or NFL. This happens more in the coaching world then down at the base of that mountain. I would adventure out and say this happens at the HS ranks as well.

Hate to break the news, but this video is not going to make or break heritage recruiting better or worse. Players talk, parents talk. Those players and parents are already not playing at heritage nor will they ever want to.

Also hate to see this go public because I was pulling for a Heritage win, but now I will have to reshuffle my hand. No one should speak high or less of Coach O. As he is just doing what he knows and where he has came from - Which shows you how that Jeremy Pruitt guy spoke at UT and why he did not last :roflol:

Sidenote: I bet @etcoach @williebgovs04 and the Admin at William Blount are laughing when people attack them about passing on Coach O. They did win that battle.

Signing out as I need "to go piss hot this AM"

That's exactly the same conversation I was having with my barber an hour ago. He said the line was WB by 6 points I believe and I began to tell him just how bad that Clinton game was. I didn't watch the replay of the Jefferson County game because I did see the halftime score which saved me from watching it. I just hope none of the kids jump ship and quit and see this through.

What is there to see through? List two reasons why a parent would want their player to go to William Blount over any school in the county.

I find it funny that you accuse this guy, and anyone else who speaks common sense, of being a coach. Could it be that YOU are actually a coach and you do this just to gaslight and deflect your own insecurities onto others? Or perhaps you were once a coach who had a falling out somewhere along the way?

This is all true. I wish someone would hire me to be a coach. I had a big fall out in 2008  I used to be in banking but, I lost interest.

I would give the edge to Heritage. It’s way to early to call the hires at either school a success or failure but Heritage currently is in a better place.

The new coaches at these schools started in very different places. Despite their lack of success on the field, Heritage had discipline, structure and toughness under Hammontree. They also had a solid strength and conditioning program. Osovet was able to start there and add energy, improved communication, new facilities,  a new offense, etc.

At WB you had a program that lacked discipline, structure and many other pieces needed to create a winning program. Starting from there means undoing the culture of the past and creating a new one. This is tough, most often means losing players and coaches who don’t buy in and slipping further backward before you can move forward. It will take longer to turn WB around but in Reeves you have a local guy who is committed to the long term success of WB.

Only time will tell how these hires work out.

Speaking like a true coach or someone who is or has been on the inside of both programs.

Only time will tell if you get caught of which side your on :hungry:

There’s no eagleton affect. It’s a program that kept a losing coach that was ruining the program around too long. They drug their feet for two months knowing they wanted to fire Shad. They passed on a D1 coach and a 2X state champion head coach to hire a guy who just came off three 0-10 seasons and a 1-9 season at WB. All because they have a clown running the athletic department who’d rather make YouTube videos in his office than lead. The new coach ran off their best players. One is the starting QB at Maryville and the other is starting at Hardin Valley. He’s so indecisive that they’ve changed their entire offense from week 1 to 2. WB isn’t hurt by eagleton, their killing themselves from the top down.

D1 coach? 2X State Championship coach? Who were these guys. you speak of that they passed on for the current coach.

Was Shad not a State Champion coach?

  7. I feel honored to start this Thread. Tons of WB faithful out there who could of started it but, I guess they do not care much about this game or have they already abandoned the game plan :roflol:

    Questions going into the game:

What offense will the Govs be in?

    Does Jeff Co. Travel well?

Is the Gov Nation peeps already looking too the Heritage showdown?

Jeff Co. Defense has looked dominate, could this stay true for opening region opponent?

IMO: Jeff Co 35 WB 7

Any other thoughts or suggestions? @OrangePylon @BarneySox2007 @GovForce1 @williebgovs04 and my old friend @Shadroach

I think the new regime is doing things the right way. When you can't field a decent defense (yet), it makes sense to have an offense that can eat up a lot of clock. It seems like they will be able to move the ball on people judging by how they moved the ball on Maryville on the ground. They have two running backs, Walker and Ogle, who were productive in the jamboree. I was also really impressed with the new QB. He actually looks like a really good athlete and if he goes down we will be in trouble. He was able to scramble and avoid sacks and he even made two nice throws that should have been touchdowns but the intended receiver dropped them both times in the end zone. That's one thing about the wing-t offense. You don't throw the ball much, but when you do there's usually guys open.

Is your assessment still the same after game number 1?

By your last posted. It seems as you have already jump ship?

Not a good start for the new era…

Clinton should be a deep playoff team , just got to question why the qb and most starters were in the game in the 4 th quarter of a mercy rule game leading 41-0

barney, When will these teams learn how to build a dynasty.

Did you expect any different outcome?

Congratulations on the county voting 16-3 on the new synthetic turf fields at both William Blount and Heritage. 3.8 million to be spent on both fields combined for use next season.

This should help with the overall wins for both programs as well help them compete with Alcoa and Maryville. Oh and that school Eagleton on the other side of the county.

According to the county. That was the only win that some people cared about.

I think one of the best things that happened at WB is the wrestling coach taking over the O line. We have a really good wrestling program and the line is looking better.

How long has the wrestling coach been there? How long has he been coaching football and wrestling?

Lol! We have given up 40 points a lot in the past decade.

Going to be a tough one for the GOVS come Friday evening. Offense can run run run but, once they get down 21-0. I would bet my 3rd grandchild, that Offense gets into panic mood. IMO

    Clinton 35

    WB 7

Only reason they do not score 40 on the Govs is due to the running clock and Govs manage the first possession by chewing up a ton of clock.

Yes. I'm not making any predictions about wins and losses, but I'm convinced the days of us giving up 40+ to everyone are over. It looks like they will be able to at least move the ball on most teams and eat clock.

What makes you so sure about the 40+ ?

I assume this is because they held maryville to 7 points in one quarter of action :bored:

    Huh.

Almost like some high ranking local government person is an Eagleton guy.

Sounds about right. I guess the Mountaineer & Governor faithful did not realize that they are now both the red headed step child to the county and city school systems. :roflol:

However, could the county commission be thinking of a better plan than fields getting turf :popcorneater:

Most readers enjoy it when a coach or A.D. jumps on here and has something to say, wish more would do that. Total shame when you have to get on here and make someone mad in order to find out what's going on with the program.

This is TRUE. Maybe some Coaches @OrangePylon , @williebgovs04 , @Shadroach can give us more of an insight of what happen last night with the Chiefs, coaches texted me the script and it was like just like Carter scrimmage :roflol:
