He was probably a little shell shocked week one against Haywood. Since then he’s played about as well as you could ask him to. The young man is going to be very special. He also has some really good football players that will join him as sophomores next year. The future is looking bright in Patriot Nation.

Correct. We were manhandled up front though, that was the biggest take away in that game for me. The offensive and defensive lines have played so much better since that game. We had no push in the running game and our freshman was taking some shots back there. They’ve played well since then

Henry County gave Beech 3 scores and missed a FG at the end in that game and lost by 2, and that was Week 2 when we weren’t really clicking. I think we’d beat them by 2 scores if we played today. Haywood just flat whipped us up front, not to mention we started a 14 year old freshman at quarterback, but both sides of our lines have vastly improved, as has our freshman QB. I’m a homer, but there’s very few teams on this list that would even give HC a game right now, much less beat them.

Hopefully, we make sure we’re focused these next 3 weeks, take care of business early, build some depth as Racer said, and stay healthy. Worst thing we could do is go in and mess around with them, and it only be a two scores game in the 3rd quarter. I have no doubt our coaching staff will make sure that doesn’t happen.

Great win for the Patriots. Defense played lights out once again. Offense played well at times. Way too many penalties on both sides of the ball. Not quite sure on some of those calls. Our goal seemed to be to establish the run tonight. Germantown had some really good looking kids, I think the coaching staff put them in some bad situations. Not quite the same team we’ve played the last two years, but still a great game and win for Henry County going forward.

At punter? I doubt he gets many snaps at quarterback tonight. Unless you’ve heard something that I haven’t. I don’t see this one getting that out of hand.

I think we’ll get Germantown’s A game. I do think we pull this one out though. My uneducated guess will be 28-16 in favor of the Patriots.

7-5A* But yes, huge game and probably our toughest opponent left on the schedule. I think before the season, most HC fans thought this one was a toss up at best, if not leaning towards a L for the Patriots. We’ve really played some good ball the last several weeks, and Germantown has struggled some. Can you shed some light on the current G’Town team?

Great team win. Defense was dominant, again. Outside of the one long run Kenwood had, they stopped them all night. KW also didn’t help themselves out much with all the penalties. Offense looked great, especially considering 5 didn’t play, and 8 didn’t play on that side of the ball. 48 ran angry. 12 throws a beautiful ball, and always seems to make the right reads. Impressive for a freshman. 15 made some huge plays at receiver and I thought the backup QB looked good running the ball. 4 had the hit of the night breaking up a KW pass. Great crowd. Was a really good night for homecoming. Loved seeing Coach Cullivan get recognized out there.

Would be nice to have a night where the reserves got a lot of playing time. Would also like to see them rest 5 and 8 if they can afford to. Would like to see them get the receiving core a little more involved and see what they can do. May need them down the road. I think the Perry kid could wind up being a really good weapon for us.

I wish HC could play weeks 1 & 2 over again now. Different team the past 3 weeks. The outcome might not change at all, but I think we’d be sitting at 4-1 at the very least. Our team is just better now. The freshman quarterback doesn’t look like a freshman anymore, we have 5 back at RB, the OL is playing much better, and the defense has figured out how to be dominant. If we stay healthy, we’ll make a run in the playoffs. GoBigRed.

This game shouldn’t be close. I would love to see a blowout where we could work on the passing game and get some experience for the backups also. Let those backs maybe have a lighter load. They seem to be getting a little banged up. Defense will dominate again. 41-13 BigRed.

Did anyone hear or see that our freshman quarterback was at Vanderbilt today on a recruiting visit? Isn’t it a little early for all that? Kind of neat though.

I really thought CHS would be a slam dunk as the runner up in 7-5A. I still think it’s between them and Dyer Co, but they haven’t played as well so far as most thought they would going into the season.

Racer we’re pretty close in our thinking here. I could see us coming out a little flat to start the game. Might even be a one score game at the half. I see us pulling away and winning handily at the end. 38-13 BigRed is my prediction.

Our freshman > their freshman. Hopefully they have some great battles over the next 4 years. And by great battles, I’m meaning that i hope it’s 160-20 us, during that time frame.

The more I think about it, the more I could see somewhat of a letdown game for the Pats. Coming off two big wins at home, now back to the road where we’re 0-2 so far this season. I don’t think there’s any chance at all we lose this game, but the score might be a little closer than most think, including myself. My original thought was 42-10. But I could also see a 28-13 game. Regardless, I don’t think the CHS offense has much luck against our defense. I just don’t see them scoring 14 or more.

Speaking of freshman quarterbacks, Clarksville High starts one as well. I see our defense giving him a Haywood type game. He’s going to be in for a rude awakening this week. Not to mention their issues on special teams, especially on punt team. I like the Patriots big in this one.
