  1. Baylor Hughes at RB looked real tuff vs Hardin Valley in the Jamboree. Powell also has a stable of RB'S. i Think the game will be decided 3-7 points.....I give the edge to Powell cause of the home field. Greeneville will wont go down easy though!
  2. 14 points.....I believe it will be a lot closer than that. I believe as I said in the 5a post (Powell vs Greeneville) it will come down to QB play. What QB will shoe up. Powell QB can be very good at times, and Greeneville is starting a new QB for the first time in forever. Whatever QB makes the least mistakes that team will win. My opinion.
  3. Ya 3 points if far feched for sure. Will be a great game in my opinion. I heard Greeneville's O-line vs DB in the scrimmage a couple weeks back got WORKED! Reports said 1 vs 1 DB did not even throw the ball, just ran it down Greeneville's throat 80 yards down the field for the score. Now it is a scrimmage and how many 1's played or didn't play dont' know, but it was 1 vs 1. Im sure Greeneville will be fine up front though. I believe it will come down to QB play. What QB from each team is going to show up. Powell QB can be very good when on, and Greeneville has a new QB playing in his first game. The team that wins will be because of QB play and decision making.
  4. Have not seen the thread yet. Thanks for letting us know. Def will check it out. Had to put something in the 5a thread to get everyone's take.
  5. Ya 3 points not going to happen. The new OC and HC are way to good schematically to only score 3 points. Also I heard that Powell's (1) defense has not let up a TD yet in the scrimmages. How many teams can say that. I like Greeneville but they are not that good. lol Now last years team, maybe?
  6. Ya I like Powell in a tight game as well. The home field will be a big deal for Powell. Hopefully the weather cooperates. There calling for on and off thunderstorms all day Thursday. Final score in a close game could be Powell 27 Greeneville 24.
  7. Score predictions, and who will be the impact players on both sides of the ball for Greeneville and Powell?
  8. i was thinking the same thing. I would not be surprised at all if Rivalry Thursday picks up another game or cancels Bearden and HVA.
  9. Do you know if a Freshmen plays tonight in the Jamboree at Neyland, if they are able to play tomorrow in the Freshmen Jamboree?
  10. What are your thoughts? And who is going to come out victorious. Brentwood the last 2 years has throttled Catholic. Will this year be different for the Irish?
  11. you took the words right out of my mouth. Tee is a great powerful back. His game fits right in with the SEC physical play. Look at Jalen Hurd....He couldn't wait to get out of the SEC! His body got destroyed running the rock. He was lanky and fast! Tee will be just fine at RB for TN! He is a great complementary back to the speed backs that they already have their.
  12. I can hear it now....Central played all back ups so they can get reps......lol
  13. Not surprising, but Central is getting smacked by Maryville right now.....
  14. Is Oak Ridge still going to go undefeated as previously stated earlier in this thread? My how attitudes change after a scrimmage. It was a scrimmage.....it means nothing! But this thread is fun to read. lol
  15. Ya for sure. I think the only advantage Powell may have is that Greeneville Graduated a ton of kids, and a lot of those kids are playing big time football now in college. I guess that is why they say strap it up and play the game. You just never know. AC plays Powell this year I think week 2? That should be a great game to. Not to familiar with AC, but they always seem competitive, and well coached.
  16. Powell has had a good 7on7 season, but that's 7on7. So I don't buy into a lot of that. They played there first scrimmage last week at Austin East vs Mo. East and Austin East. From what I hear they looked good, but still have some things to work out naturally. Greenville took it to Fulton at Carson Newman. When Greenviles ones went agains Fulton's ones, I heard it wasnt even close. Greeneville is starting that QB transfer from Catholic this year. He is decent, but certainly not like the guy they had before. Powell is going to be playing a lot of Freshmen so should make for a good game. It is a Rivalry Thursday game on TV, and are expecting some where in the 10k in attendance. Powell will have the advantage there.
  17. Ya Greenville will be tough as usual no doubt. But Powell is loaded all around. I am hearing that it is going to be record crowds there? Nearing 10k......That will be a big advantage for Powell.
  18. The Greenville @ Powell game on the 22nd should be a good one.
  19. Powell will be tuff to deal with in 5a. Heard they did really well in 7v7 this summer. Region 3 is loaded though from top to bottom. Region 3 5a has to be one of the toughest regions regardless of classification this year. Thoughts
  20. GO Powell Panthers......5a State Champions to be....
  21. Just here for the comments.......GO PANTHERS!!!!!
