Is Basin playing Polk this week or SP?

You seem to like that Rollins guy, you must have seen him play a lot.

I agree, i'm really excited to see what kind of year he has.

I'm sure SP and GB will have some great players, always do. They both have great programs going from little league all the way through high school.

Did Gordonsville have many starters return? I never heard if they had several senior leave or if they were young last year. They started out rough at the first of last year but started playing tough at the end of the season. I seen the Basin/Gordonsville game and they seemed like a good physical group. Good luck on the up coming season.

Who are some of the top players to watch for in 1A this year from the east? What players do you think will be that wow factor for teams this year? Who's the top player in each position from the east?

Its a big game in the county. Seems like there has always been a feud between West Polk and East Polk. There isn't much they agree on. lol

Qb1 will have a great year at Basin, if everyone stays healthy. I think we will see a lot better play from the O-line this year. I'm also really excited to see the run game this year. The RB has packed on a lot of strength and speed, his foot work is unreal. Could be a big season for Basin. As far as the Polk/Basin game, I think it will be a really good game. Polk will have Eddie Lamb back this year from his injury in the preseason last year, that kid is good and can be a game changer. I think Basin will come out on top though.

Ronto might not play much but when he is in, he is making plays. He also seems to be a team player and does whats best for the team at the time. Very deserving young man from what I've seen. Good job to all those nominated but Ronto is the only one I've personally seen play.

He's had a lot of health issues and had a battle with cancer for a bit but he's tough as nails and stubborn as they come. He will probably be standing around with me over next to the field house if he shows up. I'll be wearing the badge standing around the field house. He loves to talk about the good ol' days

Yes sir, that was Keith Crouch. He was a punter and the kicker. The wreck messed his leg up really bad. He was highly sought after. Hes a good friend of mine and will probably be at the game this Friday. Everyone still talks about him warming up kicking field goals before the game and putting them on top of the gym.

Does anyone know what the overall record is between Basin and SP??? I'm sure its heavy in the favor of SP, but just curious. SP has always been the team to beat year in and out in this region. Y'all have had a good tradition there and a strong community support of your team and I think that is a big part of having a solid program. When you build an atmosphere like that in the community everyone wants to play and be a part of something good.

Basin and SP use to be some hard hitting games.

The best teams in the world have lost to not so good teams before. SP looks to have the next state champs. I'm gonna go with Basin in this one. We might not win but I'm still gonna pull for them. Basin is still a work in progress but when they play together they could make some big upsets. Hate on me if you want but they're my pick and my team. GO BASIN!!!!!

Its great for everyone when Basin is playing good. Helps the hometown and also the teams we play. A win feels so much better when you beat a good team in an all out brawl for 4 quarters.

We're from Basin, we can take a beating and still talk trash lol. We've grew up being the underdog. I just see a different future coming for Basin football. We have a ton of talent coming up through our rec league. We also have a shift in the community wanting to support our teams more. I look for Basin to make their first appearance for a state title within the next 5 years. We lost our little league group for awhile a few years ago but it has been built back to a solid program now, which will feed great talent. We've lost a lot of good players to other States. Kids from our area can drive 15 min over into North Carolina and play for a State Championship every other year almost. Its tough to stop kids from doing that.

I'm just giving the edge to Basin because I'm from Basin lol. I still think it will be a great game between the two. The travel for Basin might be a factor as well. Hard to get a fans to show up that far away. 2 hours and 40 min is tough

We have one guy that only comes to our games when its gonna be a televised football/basketball/baseball game. He only comes to give the refs as much thrash talk as he can until they kick him out. LOL
