  1. Not sure this is an accurate statement about a game that wasn't decided until there was only 30 seconds left on the clock. Covington did what they had to do to win the game just as SGC did in the first matchup. It was a great battle to watch between 2 really good football teams. I said it when these 2 played the first time, turnovers, special teams, penalties are the difference makers in games with teams evenly matched. It was a great defense war. SGC had a great season and will continue to be in the top tier of one of the toughest regions in the state. Good luck to the Chargers in the games to come.
  2. You were correct sir...I was wrong. Good luck against the Chargers.
  3. Again, obviously you haven't read all of the post I've made in this thread. I believe you're the homer...good luck.
  4. My opinion is based on what I know about Milan and the likelihood a 9-2 team might over look or underestimate a 6-5 team. You seem bitter. I've given Wooddale the respect their accomplishments have earned. I expect them to lose to Milan though. Maybe I'll be wrong and you can waste my time with a long rambling rant. Go dawgs!
  5. Ouch....you got me...just my opinion...The game will be played and one team will win which will then be fact and not opinion. Have you read all of my post about this game? You need to relax. Go dawgs!
  6. I'm with you. Woodale is a good football team and I think they definitely have potential to beat Milan depending on the effort level that Milan plays with. I know Milan has the athletes and ability to be as good as anyone in the State if they want to be. Question is though, will the motivation of playing SGC / Covington again be enough to get them past Woodale. I think so, but maybe I am underestimating Woodale.
  7. I don't see it happening...Woodale's schedule, IMO, isn't anywhere close to what Milan, or anyone else in region 7-3a for that matter, has faced week in and week out. Those dog fights in the regular season will have an impact in how teams compete in the playoffs. Milan will grind it out and live to play again. I just don't think Woodale has the motivation that will be required.
  8. Lol FAKE NEWS.....jk it was a close game...when teams are closely matched up, things like special teams, penalties, mistakes, or turnovers become the difference in the game. I expect another great game from both teams.
  9. We shall see...two things are for sure...one is either you or I will wind up being right and two a great football team will advance. Good luck my friend.
  10. Yes sir, I agree. I also hate to see a good McNairy team out of the equation but that's how jacked up the system is right now. The last game between the Hornets and Chargers was a great football game to watch and SGC came out on top by capitalizing on mistakes...I expect this to be a very similar contest but my prediction is 17-7 Hornets. What's yours?
  11. Good luck to the Bulldogs this week. Should be a decent game. I haven't seen Wooddale play this year but I expect Milan will do what is necessary to win.
  12. Well said. It will be a great contest and I'm hoping Milan pulls out a win too to set up the 3rd round rematch. IMO these three teams are evenly stacked across the board and any one of them will represent West TN football well when the games move to Mid TN. I'm an SGC guy to the bone though so it's GO HORNETS!!
  13. Lol. Doesn't matter what type of phobias the fans of any given team has, the only thing that matters is the players and how they play the game. One thing you can count on, these players fear no team and certainly fear no one player in particular...if you've watched them play all year I suspect you know this. Good luck, y'all gonna need it.
  14. It will be a great game. I'm glad to hear your athlete is healthy and back on the field. Should be no excuses after this game. I still believe that South Gibson is the better team and will come out on top. There's a lot to be said for the motivation that comes when your trying to avenge a regular season loss BUT there's also a ton of motivation that comes from being disrespected, overlooked, and underrated. I believe SGC would like nothing less than to leave no doubt about their worthiness in being the region champs in 7-3a. Everyone is 0 and 0 again and it's win or go home. It will be a tremendous atmosphere and the team that plays the best football game will win and live to fight again.
  15. Injuries and coaching adjustments are part of the game and every team deals with them. SGC has had impact players injured and on the sidelines literally all season long. The regular season games between region 7-3a were great football games to watch. I know it's always harder to beat a team of similar capabilities twice so Covington and Milan will have their opportunities but SGC will be relentless on the field. It will be a battle for sure.
  16. They are a good football team and are capable but if each team plays to the best of their ability and don't beat themselves, SGC comes out on top. Just my opinion though, it will be decided by the teams on the field in 8 days. I think it will be a great football game to watch as will the rest of the matchups that follow. I think the west will be well represented as time goes on.
  17. I believe aside from the 1st round fiasco matchups between region 7 and 8, every game after will be a dog fight. I think Covington has been over rated all year. They're not as good as they were last year and I think SGC and Milan are better than they were last year. I don't think it's a coincidence that Covington lost to Milan and South Gibson, I believe both are better football teams top to bottom. Just my opinion of watching all of them all season. I'm sure Covington will come to SGC ready to play but SGC will be ready as well and only one will move on to take on Milan again which will be another great football game!
  18. Won't be Covington...they're out at round 2.
  19. Agreed. Any one of those three teams are going to be tough to beat in the semifinal game, provided they make it there without injuries. They have already played some of the best games of the year in the state and now have to do it again to get there. Region 7 is a brutal place to compete every week. When you play great football teams every single game, every game is a championship type atmosphere.
  20. SGC is probably the most humble 1 seed in the state. They're probably the most underrated team in the state as well. To borrow a cliche from Dabo Swinney, they've been on the ROY bus all year. You know they're not Alcoa or PC or anything special like that...just one of the rest of y'all 3a teams from region 7. Of course, if they make it though to see PC or Alcoa, better watch out because they will be the most battle tested team on the field.
  21. The stage is set for rematches between very good football teams and I think Milan will be there in the 3rd round for a rematch of their own. SGC is a great football team that is well coached and very disciplined. Covington and Milan are loaded with talent and can compete with anyone in the state. Tough road to the end.
  22. My prediction on this particular game is 28-7 Chargers. If SGC beats Sheffield, and I suspect it will be a blowout, the 2nd round will be the game of the year.
  23. Covington is a great football team and beat a really good McNairy team to stay alive in the toughest region in the state. It's ashame to see 1 and 9 teams in the playoffs while good football teams are left out. Winning matters in region 7.
  24. I beg to differ about the best team don't always win...winning football games in region 7 isn't easy but the team that plays the best football game always wins. Excuses don't produce points.
