  1. You are right. #3 is awesome. Just saying he doesn’t do it alone. #7 has 10 rushing TDS this year. #2 is our primary return guy. All 5 players that were ejected would start on D against Gordonsville and matter. And you saw how bad the punting situation was. We have other players, but to lose that many good players on a single A roster is going to make a big difference. I haven’t personally seen Gordonsville play. I am going on what the east guys say on here which is they are top 5 in the state. To me, that means it would have been a tough game even if we had a full roster.
  2. Nice post. Appreciate your honesty. I will have to quit saying all of your stuff is negative about City.
  3. Understand tensions were high and both sets of players were playing to the max the whole game. No problem with that. That happens a lot when good teams play each other. You just said a Cornersville player did something so unacceptable he should be removed from the game directly prior to the eruption. Not sure how that is anyone else’s fault but that player. There is a difference in playing chippy and playing dirty. None of the things that happened prior to that started a brawl. Please tell me exactly what City did that started it since it wasn’t Cornersville and I clearly wasn’t watching close enough. I don’t have an issue with you either. I am just having a hard time understanding how it’s Citys fault the Cornersville kid decided to go WWE after the whistle and how anyone else shares blame in his decision to do that.
  4. Agree neither side is perfect. But in the same way you don’t want to be lumped in with Cornersville fans screaming racist things at our team, don’t lump the entire City fan base in with people saying ugly stuff to Cornersville. I think neither of the 2 things referenced should have happened. I can say that if our coach heard any of our players saying that, he wouldn’t have put up with it. Unfortunately, there are idiots in every fan base and they are usually the loudest. My wife took my kid to the bathroom shortly after the ejections and came back saying that there were Cornersville fans saying extremely ugly and expletive filled comments about our team. I have heard second hand racial slurs are regularly used against our kids on the field, and people on this forum referred to us as the ghetto/hood tigers. So I understand it goes both ways and ours are not saints but just because you didn’t hear those remarks from Cornersville people doesn’t mean it didn’t happen in the same way that I can’t say people didn’t run their mouth to Cornersville last year just because I didn’t hear it. And if you don’t want race to be brought up afterward, please ask your folks to quit bringing it up at and during the game.
  5. We been lucky 10 times in a row when we take the field against region 5.
  6. I agree it was back and forth and both sides were probably playing hard and talking a little more than they should have. I agree that the refs saw this happening and let it continue. My point with Cornersville starting it was a Cornersville player that took it to the level where it erupted. It is one thing to play to the maximum allowance of the whistle. It is another to cheap shot a guy after the whistle. If we had a guy that came in and speared one of your guys when he wasn’t looking after the whistle, it would be on City. That’s not what happened. It was the other way around. I am surprised that Cornersville fans think that is acceptable. I hope you have the same attitude if it happens to one of your guys.
  7. Is this a joke? Gordonsville beat a really good Clay Co team 20-0. Their only 2 losses are to top 10 2A schools by 1 score. They blew out everyone else they have played. Everyone but you thinks they are a top team in 1A. To say they don’t have an advantage over a City team who will be missing 5 defensive starters who also have accounted for about 10 offensive touchdowns this year and 1 is their punter is only something someone who knows nothing about football would say. If you were at the Cornersville game where we lost all these guys after 1 of them got body slammed after they play was over, you know we went from dominating to barely being able to hold on. Since the majority of your posts are saying something negative about City, I assume you are just trying to say there is no way they should lose just so you can rip them if they do.
  8. Somebody beat me to it but Honeys on the square has great hamburger steak and baked potato.
  9. The streak ends here. Summit 56-13.
  10. Coach Morson is a great guy and a great coach! We’re happy to have him in Fayetteville. Will definitely be listening.
  11. Lincoln County has 2. The senior PG has potential to be the district MVP. They are also pretty deep.
  12. The COVID stuff is a question that I can’t answer. Hope they are both back. One of them is a big difference maker. Don’t know when we will hear on the 4 players ejected from the Cornersville game. Hope it is soon so we can make adjustments. It really hurt to not have them the other night. We have another kid that has been hurt for several weeks. I was hoping he would be back for this one.
  13. I saw a lot of the Franklin Co girls play travel ball at Shelbyville towards the end of summer. You got a good coach and decent players. Nobody to replace Holman that I could see and that will hurt. Coffee, Lincoln, Tullahoma and Lawrence have more talent. It will be hard to pass them. Might have a shot to finish in front of Columbia and Shelbyville.
  14. I don’t have an answer to that. And I also have no idea who was ejected in addition to the 4 players. I was told one of the guys who was ineligible walked the 4 ejected players back to the locker room and was not actually ejected. But that is second hand from the Fayetteville side. It may not be correct. I would like to play y’all again. I think we both have a shot to make a run. And at this point, I would pull for MC the rest of the way if y’all beat us. But there are a couple of MC posters who are making that increasingly difficult. I assume y’all will have to go to Huntingdon in the 2nd round if everything plays out like I think it will. Don’t know much about them. I think I will probably go watch them play at Wayne Co Friday since we are off.
  15. I appreciate that and apologize if I took your question out of context. At the end of the day, the TSSAA is in charge and will do whatever they want to. I am not against us getting punished if we did something wrong. I am hoping we didn’t. Proof will be on the film that I’m sure TSSAA has multiple copies of.
  16. Nobody who was ineligible until week 8 played in the game. They were both in street clothes on the sideline. I was sitting behind their mom. Are you saying they were ejected for stepping onto the field and that should mean they participated in the game when they weren’t even dressed out? That’s ridiculous. These kids have done everything the right way and patiently waited for a chance to play a few games. One is a senior. It is outrageous that grown people that are our opponents would be trying to take that away from them. They weren’t fighting. It also doesn’t surprise that some of you are asking these questions to TSSAA. There are some who are constantly running to the TSSAA hoping they can get something to stick to City and hopefully take them down a notch. I hear people question the class of teenagers at City while themselves are acting like spoiled toddlers and being the opposite men with class and integrity. I understand though. Trying to get the TSSAA to take wins away from City is the only anyone in Region 5 can get a win against us the last 2 years.
  17. Moore Co will finish #2 and has a really good senior qb. They spread you out and have a great passing game. Qb runs well too. Cornersville or Huntland will finish #3. Both a big step down from Moore Co IMO.
  18. City will be short handed and that will hurt. As you saw, we aren’t deep enough to lose that many in addition to having another key starter out hurt and 2 out with COVID tracing. It will be tough to beat a really good Gordonsville team missing that many. You are right we shoot ourselves in the foot too often with self inflicted penalties and bad decisions. I will say that if we ever figure out how to fix that and field a full healthy team, we will be tough to beat. We have seen flashes of that this year. And with such a young team, I’m hoping we get better as the season keeps going and we are rolling come postseason.
  19. What is the ticket situation for this one? Are they limiting? Do they sell at the gate?
  20. You are right about Jackson. He shares the load with Pace, who got ejected. I hear them called thunder and lightning. Both great backs.
  21. You never know how it will all play out but I would say y’all have the 2 spot pretty easy. I think you will win Region games by multiple scores. Plus if something crazy happened and you did lose one, you have the head to head tiebreaker over Cornersville.
