  1. I don’t know. I think Peabody could hang in there with DA. It would be close.
  2. Congratulations to Elizabethton and to Haywood as well.
  3. Agree with this post. I definitely think both USJ and DA could possibly hang with Peabody.
  4. Lol! Understood. It would be a great game tho.
  5. A more intriguing match up would be Peabody versus Davidson Academy. Two championship programs. Wonder how Peabody would match up?
  6. Good year Haywood! The program will only get stronger after this. Just getting to the championship game is an accomplishment.
  7. Okay Milan...what’s left in the tank? Not connected with the program but eager to see what they are made of. Good Luck today!
  8. USJ played about as well as they could. Rest assured however, a play here or a play there, did not decide this game. DA was clearly the better team.
  9. USJ will start their run of winning ChampionshipS next year. You can book it!
  10. Congratulations to DA! I’ve said this before and I mentioned this last year. USJ is a front runner. When a team like DA brings this kind of physicality for 4 quarters, USJ will eventually fade. I don’t understand why, but they just can’t seem to play 4 solid quarters when it truly matters. DLThis game was never in doubt. Knowing Quinn, he may very well of played it that way.
  11. No connection to Lipscomb but I absolutely love and understand your post. My son also played football at one of the well known championship D2 high schools in the area. As you know, particularly with the private school community, it’s not uncommon to see politics and favorites at play with sports and the school in general. Often times at the detriment of the collective. Coach Dilfer is creating a positive change for the school as a whole and opening eyes and hearts. There will always be that small percentage who will go kicking and screaming. And that’s okay. At least you know where they stand. Kudos to you and to the growth of LA!!
  12. I need to go back and look at Oak Ridge before I make a pick. I don’t know much about OR’s defense. They’ll have to somehow contain that QB—definitely tough to bring down.
  13. Trust me. I’m pulling for anybody to beat Alcoa as well as give them all they want. Alcoa is not my team by the way. Good luck to you guys!!
  14. Absolutely agree with you!! And that’s what I love about Milan. Not to mention their physicality. Reminds me of ole school football—dating myself a bit. Lol I didn’t know much about them before this year. I’m a middle Tennessee guy so I don’t follow a lot of West TN. Like what I see and I do hope they beat Alcoa.
  15. From my understanding, the tone was set weeks ago by “some” HC fans so I’m not sure I see the issue with the comments myself. Just like every other team that didn’t make it to the championship, it’s back to the drawing board. Good Luck next year!
  16. You were waaay off! What it came down to is 11 guys simply stopping one Junior QB. Hey, we can’t all be right.
  17. Hold up there my friend. Agreed, PC is all hype, but in honesty, neither one of these teams look capable of beating Alcoa. What I do like about Milan is their resilience and willingness to not back down. And that is what they’ll need. But in no way are they evenly matched with Alcoa—the coaching staff alone is a HUGE difference... as Trump would say.
  18. And Pearl Cohn didn’t disappoint!! I knew it. They look great until they meet equal talent that is well coached. That program is absolutely sad—completely undisciplined, no mechanics or fundamentals to be found. Brunetti gets way to much credit and for nothing. In no shape or form are they coaching these kids up. Congrats to Milan!!
  19. He wasn’t just the difference my friend—he literally dominated 11 guys. HC was beat at halftime.
  20. WHAT!!! You mean Henry County, where every player on the team has a D1 offer, actually lost in the semifinals?! One man on Summit’s offense completely dominated 11 guys on HC’s defense—ridiculous. And like clockwork, a season of high scoring only to fall short when it really counts.
  21. As a Middle Tennessee supporter, it pains me to say that this game, from the eye test, goes to Milan. Many of the deficiencies I saw with PC last year still exists against teams of equal talent and are fundamentally sound. Any other words, PC will not be able to just walk out and out-athlete Milan. I hope I’m wrong in this one but something tells me I’m not.
  22. While I am a DA homer, I have nothing but the utmost respect for NCS. They have a ton of young talent and the future is definitely bright. But I have to agree with the previous posts in that DA, currently, is just a step above. NCS for sure will not go quietly into the night.
  23. Did not expect this performance from DA. I thought Quinn would keep it mostly conservative. It wasn’t looking good for us at the beginning of the game. #24 for USJ was a huge loss. Hope he is okay. Swinea was his old self again. Was mostly impressed with Vetetoe. This kid actually opted out of football last year to focus on his baseball (committed to MTSU). He was a difference maker tonight. Good luck to USJ the rest of the year. We’ve got Jackson Christian later in the year.
  24. Everyone is spot on with their assessments. Weather could truly make a difference in this game. And as someone mentioned, if it comes down to the kicking game and special teams, you have to give it to USJ. If I know Coach Quinn at DA, he will not kick to #1 or to any of the other speedsters. The stakes are too high. Glad to see #50 is back healthy but I can’t say I’m looking forward to seeing him against our boys. Lol I look for Quinn to play it close to the vest no matter the weather conditions.
