Our community is a very political place unfortunately. Hopefully folks allow him to coach and not run him off the first time he upsets the wrong kid/parent.

Pretty sure it said you didn’t have to be certified for the position when it was posted. Nothing surprises me at all with Clinton. Not a good hire in my opinion at all.

Anybody heard when an announcement will be made?

I highly doubt AC is worried about any coach that we hire. As I have said before, it doesn’t matter who the coach is if we have zero talent. It will be hard for any coach to recruit kids to Clinton bc what do we have to offer besides a nice indoor facility. Kind of hard to bring kids into a program that’s good for 2-3 wins a season. He is gonna have to win with Clinton kids first to ever bring recruits in. Sorry but I’m just speaking the truth and it might hurt some people’s feelings in the community but the truth hurts sometimes. Point blank is the guy has zero head coaching experience and life is different as a head coach compared to being an assistant. As I stated earlier, Clinton isn’t an easy place to come into for your first head coaching experience. I hope the guy does well I really do but I’m just being realistic

The Lane train has officially begun

I’d like to see my Clinton boys play Coalfield or Oliver Springs. Not sure if we could beat either team right now to be honest.

So basically he will he fired in three years??? This is a solid 5-6 year rebuild. Randy made the program better so that will help whoever does get this job and make the rebuild easier. Question is will our community and the administration give him a shot to run his own program and rebuild it to make us at least competitive again.

I heard this awhile back myself when it did happen. Sounds like him and the Clinton administration are just right for each other

I’ve heard the guy has always been a good assistant coach but being a head coach is a lot different with more responsibilities. How will he be able to handle the Clinton fan base when things aren’t going good is the big question . Also will the administration give him time to build a program.

Glad that we are apparently getting a good coach but I feel bad for them honestly. They will get treated like gold until Clinton starts losing games. Hopefully they can bring some talent in with them bc we have hardly any right now

Who would you like to see play against each other next year?

Folks need to let the coach (Rosser) enjoy winning state and stop the rumors and questioning him. I’m sure if he really wanted to be at Oak Ridge he would be there by now. So enjoy your Christmas and let Rosser enjoy this time.

What’s the rumors floating around today?

I love the location of the field. We need to do some work to the locker rooms there but that’s about it. I think we have a neat setup already stadium wise.

A community that truly supports and loves their school comes out and supports the team regardless. I lived in Clinton my whole life and the support for athletics just isn’t very good. Randy literally had nothing to work with talent wise and it will be the same story for the next coach. Unfortunately, nothing is changing in Clinton anytime soon for us and until our community can stop being so political and running every coach off nothing will ever change. It’s not hard to notice that we have 4 serious problems. 1. Central Office 2. Collette/Tipton 3. Zero athletes 4. Unrealistic expectations in the community

I mean it’s not like Oak Ridge isn’t a competitive program each year. Point blank, Rosser is at Central not Oak Ridge so move on and have some respect for the coach that you got bc he’s a good coach. Yes Rosser would be great at Oak Ridge but why leave central for OR when he’s in a much easier region and side come playoff time to get to the title game. It’s working out pretty good for him right where he’s at and central has just as much or more talent than OR each year.

Rumor has it he tried getting the Carter job the last time it was open

Randy McKamey is a name being mentioned for this job from what I’ve been hearing.
