  1. Cleveland has 27 point lead over Bradley going into finals in Region 2. Every weight except 138 and HWT includes a Cleveland and/or Bradley kid.
  2. Russell pinned Jenkins at 195 though not sure that is an upset either. Russell should be ranked.
  3. Cy Fowler just pinned Barlow though I don’t consider that an upset.
  4. Nice. Good for him. I really hope UVA can elevate their program. It would be good for the ACC overall.
  5. I haven’t seen Roller in any of the ACC duals at 133.
  6. Posey did look good but in fairness to Bentley he was wrestling very conservatively because a simple decision locked up the team win. No need to take any risks. Plus, giving up weight to a very good kid makes that kid very, very good.
  7. Don’t think Bryson would drop. I don’t think he feels the need. Although Bosken keeps getting closer. He will be difficult to beat at either weight. He beat Chase very easily at Region and State duals.
  8. I think that’s the point. Cleveland won it all this year with only 2 seniors … one of which is wrestling up 2 weight classes. Most teams have to fill more holes and don’t start from as good a foundation. Things can happen but I definitely think Cleveland will be more of a favorite next year than they were this year. That’s all I see folks saying. Frankly, I don’t see that as controversial. I think Bradley loses around 9 starters (including the 3 hammers). That’s hard to imagine.
  9. Agreed … and Summit has hammers coming back. There will be plenty of competition.
  10. I expect those teams will be better (especially DB) but my post was in response to a post saying SD would compete with Baylor and Cleveland next year. I don’t think that is likely.
  11. They only lose 2 starters. Elliston will certainly be tough to replace but they have backups that would have started for most teams. Plus, the kids returning are just one year better. No disrespect to Soddy but I just don’t see them competing with Cleveland next year.
  12. Really? Cleveland will be better next year … maybe a lot better.
  13. I agree. If Cordero doesn’t get caught or try something risky, then he should beat Ricon because as you said he is way better on his feet. If I was wrestling Cordero I’d take my chances locking up and trying throws. Go Bryce Andonian and just get funky and hope you catch him. If I am Cordero I am cautious and just win to advance because he doesn’t need bonus points in a tournament setting.
  14. Maybe but I was thinking Ricon though he would have to get through Cordero or Colson - which either would be a decent upset. He did almost beat Cordero this past weekend. In fact, almost pinned him. Cordero is a much better technical wrestler but as a light and young freshman has some trouble with strength.
  15. Ricon could have an outside shot at 106 for Bradley. He about beat Cordero in dual finals. I agree the other 3 Bradley kids likely win it. I also agree that Fowler is probably the only lock for Cleveland but I’d say Cordero, Walker, and Elliston all have good chances. Bosken and Symborski have tougher roads. I am guessing your 7th potential finalists for Cleveland would be Cy Fowler.
  16. Cleveland has 6 potential finalists (4/5 likely locks). Another likely placer and 2 other potential placers. Bradley has 4 potential finalists (3 likely locks). Another 2 likely placers and 3 other potential places. So both could have 9 placers absent some unexpected run by someone. Bradley has a very good chance to have 3 champs. Cleveland finalists overall will have tougher matches. Maybe only one clear champ. Should be interesting.
  17. I’d say the following are likely locks to win: Terrell (113 or 120) Lipsey (132) Desselle (138) Fowler (152) Norman (160) Brenot (182) McDonald (285)
  18. That’s a 6-peat for the Raiders. And they are likely better next year.
  19. DB taking WC to the woodshed in the Consol finals.
