Word from my son is Coach Grider is coming back next year. That was what he came home from wt training today saying. They all know who will be coach if he doesn’t stay. Wagner has been only coach doing all the workouts and kids love him. So time for the Grider haters to move on ..

Word is Dalton hired guy on staff... So the speculation out there was wrong I would say around the area. Congrats to Chandler and Lauren on Blackman!

Son is a freshman and he says they are already working hard I think back in wt room. He says players know that Coach Grider May come back and if he doesn’t Coach Wagner is gonna be the coach. So it is what it is. Got some good ones coming back and some good young ones coming up. I wonder when they are gonna release schedule? Anyone know?

I agree with you the West is gonna beat each other up. But at the end of the day only 2 teams will matter and have a say so on who wins it all.

Good Poll for Winter reading but bottom line is this... the West can have 20 teams better than the East but only ONE is gonna represent in Championship Game and only ONE team from the East. I would agree Peabody is team to beat but you just never know who will win it. Injuries, one bad game etc. it’s why you play the game. Last two years Peabody found a way but was almost beat in playoffs...went in OT this year and won and year before other team had game won and a fluke fumble happened. Should be a great season In 1A next year. Peabody is team to beat until someone beats them.

So what’s the issue? I would say the issue this year in both losses was our OL .. got dominated in both games and when that happens you won’t move the ball. I don’t care what skills guys you got if you can’t block and to be honest the line sp played with this year on the OL we knew was not very good after graduating everyone the year before. Same issue will be next year.

I wouldn’t change a whole lot if you are in contention year in and year out. Don’t be stupid. You sound like we have been put out of playoffs in first round 3 years in a row.

My son is a freshman and he says that Coach is working them hard in the weight room and is tough on them. He says coach puts up with no non sense... I love it, my son is so sore I just laugh at him!

You are right you can’t control what teenage kids do all the time but you can’t allow their decisions to go without discipline. I have a knucklehead son who just turned 16 ! Bottom line is if they can’t act right or do right they don’t deserve to be on the team. Too many parents now days worry about being friends and whether their kid likes them more than disciplining them. It’s a Society problem!

I have a co-worker whose son plays at Bledsoe and says they will be good again next year. I look for Bledsoe, Marion, and Meigs to be a very tough region

Actually your wrong. Of the 4 that moved in, only 1 person rents from a former alumni. That’s all heresay and people wanting to talk about something they don’t know nothing about. One of the kids that started this year, mom is from here and has a house in town. He came back to live with his mom. But I will say this, Lodge is in a hiring stage right now and if you want a good job and a good community to live in you ought to check it out!

Actually the 3 I’m hearing that are coming are from Scottsboro area. I am not sure exactly where. They were talking about it today at where I work.

Word is Already got 3 more in that enrolled yesterday from what I hear. Lineman from Alabama is what I hear. Will be interesting if that’s true. I actually look for more to come...

Jasper will be in the hunt in the east of 2A.. will be jasper, Meigs Bledsoe Watertown and TC

That’s why I say you can’t compare scores. It’s all about how each team matches up. Last year at greenback it was not a good matchup for us cause they threw the ball everytime also.

I believe Jasper got better also... and you can’t look at scores and compare... heck Watertown beat jasper convincingly yet Watertown only beat Gordonsville by a touchdown. SP blew out Gordonsville. Anybody can lose on a given night. SP had a great season but it just wasn’t in the cards to win the last one. But I can tell you this, every team just wants to atleast to have that opportunity to play in that game with a chance to win it all every year. Only 2 teams get to in each class...

Fayetteville beat SP plain and simple. They were better on that night. It happens plain and simple. What’s great about all this chatter here is that it’s a disappointment when SP does not win it all. Getting to championship game is not enough. Jasper is happy just to make to playoffs. Lots of teams are that way. SP will be back in discussion next year. SP got beat and it’s now on to next year. Look forward to seeing these young guys get better.

Meigs beat SP fair and square. They did not dominate second half at all. Actually SP outscored Meigs 14-7 in second half but they were dominant for first two quarters! But it’s a mute point. Meigs was better that night. It made the Pirates Change personnel around on OL and it also helps now we got our other great rb that was out that game. Pulling for Meigs Saturday!!

How many did they score on huntland in playoffs ? With all them FC athletes how in the world couldn’t they outrun huntland and Gordonsville? And Cornersville? All three of those teams are slow.

I watched practice today.. there was no overlooking Fayetteville. The players and coaches are fully aware of how good Fayetteville is. This team is focused and knows they will have to play on all cylinders to win. It’s gonna be a 4 quarter game.
