  1. He has still not signed it yet. https://t.co/nXJPcP6hnP?amp=1
  2. Crazy I know, but they still have not signed it. Do they sign executive orders at the end of the day? https://t.co/nXJPcP6hnP?amp=1
  3. Which might explain why U.C.'s coach left.
  4. Nashville and potentially Knoxville, Memphis and other large urban or suburban district closing is upsetting. But where we should be really worried is when school districts like Huntington and Henry County shutdown sports due covid cases. Those are relatively low population, rural, strongly Republican and football crazy communities. If Coronavirus can shut those programs down then nobody is safe.
  5. Fayetteville will feel the loss of their top scorer but they are still a very sound program.
  6. Might be the year McKenzie can challenge for the top spot.
  7. Memphis probably delays football next. Word around the drinking hole is that three big middle tennessee counties will announce football delays next week.
  8. What happens if more schools continue to postpone games into later in the season? What if over 50% of the schools are not playing the first 2 or 3 weeks of the seaon? Will the TSSAA feel that they have to step in and change back to hybrid plan?
  9. Did the Mayors letter no games until after labor day or no practice till after labor day?
  10. Have heard the same but also have heard Ensworth, Father Ryan and CPA have said the will follow it as well. Cannot testify to that as fact though.
  11. I am very curious if the TSSAA has a rule about minimum practice days before a game in football. They mentioned 3 weeks of practice with the hybrid plan but I do not know if that is a "rule" per say.
  12. Why suspend practice? Is there an outbreak at HCHS?
  13. Could the county health director enforce this? Could they shut them down as a matter of public safety? Not saying they should or I agree with it.
  14. I thought the TSSAA said three weeks of practice before you could play. I thought that was a key part of the hybrid model.
  15. Will any metro privates "go rogue" and play any way?
  16. So no metro football till Labor Day?
  17. Has the order officially been signed? Or will it take effect after Aug. 29th when the other order runs out?
  18. Apologies in advance! I tried to send a direct message or private message but was unable to due to being on my phone. I am sorry but I was unable to find the mask studies from 2015-2020 that you were were referring to. I did find information that states that specific mask types may not be healthy for specific conditions but none of which stated that that wearing a mask made an individual more susceptible to coming in contact with respiratory droplets. I am not saying that those studies do not exist but I was unable to find them. There are cases of people wearing N95 type mask for prolonged periods of time affecting oxygen levels but not enough to lead to hypoxia or hypercapnia. Cloth mask allow almost of the co2 to escape. It is possible that a person with COPD or asthma could be affected depending on the severity of their condition and the total time the mask was worn. I could also not find any study that suggested to mask capturing respiratory droplets place the wearer or those around them at a higher risk. Most medical professionals do suggest washing cloth mask after wearing them each day. OSHA does require that employers keep their workplace at 19.5% oxygen or higher. Anything lower that 19.5% is considered to be oxygen deficient. If you are referencing the Jeff Neff video from late June I would respectfully point out that the manufacturer of the Altair 5X Multi Gas detector have gone on record as say saying that their device was not used in the correct manner and that is why the oxygenation levels were below 19.5%. I would also respectfully submit that in July OSHA stated that they generally recommend that employers encourage mask in the workplace. While we may disagree I value and respect your opinion and mean no disrespect to you as an individual. I know I have posted about mask in a football forum and I apologize. I beg forgiveness for this transgression and promise to henceforth only post on noncontroversial topics such as how Maryville and Alcoa cheat, how private schools recruit and how West Tennessee is more dominant in football than is East Tennessee. Have a great day!
  19. Haha my wife would disagree with anyone thinking I was anything close to intelligent! I would say that, if I understand you correctly, that the the small "smell molecule" is harmless but the larger virus/respiratory droplet is harmful. The cloth mask is not perfect by any means but is still more effective at stopping the respiratory droplets than no mask. And thank-you for for sharing your info on mask studies. It is nice when people can discuss these issues in a reasonable and noncombative manner. Stay safe and have a great week!
  20. Fart = methanthiol molecule (0.4 nanometers) Covid-19 = virus (60-140 nanometers) Respiratory droplets = cough (1000 nanometers or sneeze 100,000 nanometers) Think of it in this manner. If you are not wearing pants and you are sitting close to me and you have diarrhea not only can I smell it but I know have diarrhea on me! And in what is an even weirder or worst case scenario if I dont have pants on I have zero protection from your diarrhea! But if you have diarrhea and are sitting close to me but you have on pants I can still smell the diarrhea but I dont have to worry about it getting on me. Now use that rather unseemly analogy and replace diarrhea with respiratory droplets and covid 19 virus and replace pants with mask.
  21. If you doubt this look up "olfactory epithelium".
  22. It is unfortunate but what happened with the Miami Marlins will not help peoples opinions. You would think major league baseball could control an outbreak.
