  1. Wow. Didn’t realize they were this dominant
  2. Saw a similar post on the basketball threads and wanted to hear everyone’s opinions on this. I know a lot of smaller schools have moved up and down between 1/2A over the years so both are included. Who is the best team ever?
  3. Cannon Whitby with 45 pts in ‘86 championship game?
  4. Gordonsville will have better QB play but every where we lose seniors will be a downgrade. Jr High team this year was solid so we have help coming. Also, year 2 of a new head coach will also show improvements. But I agree that we will have trouble with SP next year. We lose a lot up front and that’s where we beat them this year. And I would say our region won’t be a cakewalk to win next year. I except Clay to be a solid team again
  5. I know it’s probably premature but wondering who the favorites will be to make a deep run/take home a gold ball in 2023. Who returns a lot? Who loses a lot?
  6. The fact that almost all of the public classification’s championship games are blowouts tell you all you need to know. Unfortunately it won’t change because the more games, the more money for TSSAA. I remember when only district champs made the playoffs and boy there were some good playoff games back then. Very watered down now and unless I have a kid/nephew/grandkid playing, my interest in watching has gone down drastically over the last several years
  7. My score prediction… Clay - a whole bunch Coalfield - not enough
  8. Also very true haha. He was the biggest, fastest, and strongest dude on the field at all times
  9. I wouldn’t say that there was more pride in 84. But I would definitely say the physicality was the biggest difference
  10. Fayetteville and McKenzie are probably the 2 favorites. But this deep into the playoffs, every team can win on any given day
  11. The play calls I didn’t understand were the play calls after that penalty. Also I do agree with Croz. These are both very good football teams and everything that happens in the 48 minutes decides to outcome of the game. You guys made less mistakes than we did last game and that’s why you won. But I believe, being as objective as possible, if both teams play without mistakes then I give the boys in blue the upper hand. But we will find out who can score more points on Friday night
  12. Not true lol. The play that the personal foul happened was 2nd down from about the 20. And we got down to the 4 on the play but with the personal foul it backed us up to the 19. So it SHOULD have been first and goal from the 4 without the personal foul
  13. Scored 3 TD’s last time. And if our play calling was a little better on that last drive. We were about score #4
  14. I’m not Croz, but Coalfield will come to Gordonsville
  15. I completely agree with this. The 4 teams out west are probably the 4 best teams left in 1A imo
  16. Coalfield scored twice in our 2nd and 3rd string late. With both teams starters out there, it was 42-7
  17. Every other play on the entire drive we gained about 5 yards a carry. And then for some reason we tried to throw on 2nd and 6. And credit to you guys you made a stop when it mattered on 4th
  18. Yeah I agree. Because all the other ones we kicked to the “most dangerous returner in 1A” really went well for you all. Give me a break
  19. We must have been watching different games lol. We caught a TD with a guy draped all over our guy and we made a good play on the ball and the other one Albritton threw a dime up the seam right over top of the safety’s head to score. And the last TD we scored late, we lined up and ran it right down your throat And as far your trick plays go, you ran a jet sweep pass with a WR to get down to the 10 yd line. And another, you ran a screen pass with everyone on the whole field running toward our sideline and threw it back across the field like the music city miracle. I thought I remembered there being 3 but those are the only 2 I can think of at the moment
