  1. We shanked a punt and gave you the ball at the 35/40 yard line
  2. Tell you what, if y’all can dial up 3 trick plays and connect on all 3 of them again and beat us. I’ll tip my cap to you and wish you the best of luck in Chattanooga. But I don’t see that happening and I also don’t see you all beating us by lining it up and coming right at us. We gave you all 2 touchdowns last go around because of our mistakes and the other 2 were on gimmick trick plays. I wouldn’t say you all beat us last time. We beat ourselves
  3. What did y’all do on offense last time we met other than hit on 3 trick plays? We flat out beat ourselves with an atrocious 3rd quarter
  4. If 5 can go for us, I just don’t see Clay being able to beat Gordonsville twice. Gville has been battle tested a lot this year and had to battle the injury bug at times and still have made it this far and have a lot of momentum after beating SP last night. It will be another good football came but I look for us to win by 2 scores.
  5. Gordonsville coming off a big win at South Pitt and Clay County coming off a rout of Whitwell. Can the Tigers get revenge or will Clay pull out another win? Thoughts?
  6. Seems like we have more people here than you all
  7. Early in the season we were banged up with a lot of injuries along with kids getting used to playing new positions and schemes. The Jo Byrns score was misleading because of our penalties and JB eating a lot of clock and keeping the ball away from our offense. We had 6 total possessions that game if I remember correctly and had a TD called back and another ended inside the 10 right before halftime. But if we make those same mistakes against a quality opponent like SP we will be getting ready for basketball season
  8. I’m not quite sure where you heard/saw that but that’s just not the case
  9. Y’all had too much speed/depth for us last year across the board. That and we didn’t help ourselves out with turnovers and untimely penalties. We would have had to play our best game and needed some help to win last year. I don’t believe that to be the case this year
  10. That’s we are hoping for! We had very very high expectations after an 11-2 campaign last year. But we battled injuries early, have had growing pains, and just flat out underperformed at times this year. I believe we are playing our best ball of the season right now and what you do in the postseason is what really matters. We will need to play extremely well again tonight to leave Beene Stadium victorious!! FYI, I don’t think we are as big up front as what some you SP fans believe. There’s definitely been way bigger/stronger O line’s suit up for us the last few years than this bunch. But hey, we will see how physical or gritty they can be tonight at 7:00
  11. Rainy and sloppy, FOOTBALL WEATHER. We need 3/4 yards and a puddle of mud every snap. Should be a really fun game . Hope all these boys stay safe and injury free on a wet field. And always, Go Tigers
  12. Very possible. SP fans like to sandbag some. I do think this year is the best chance to win since 2012, and even that year it took the best team at Gordonsville in almost 30 years to beat an 8-4 SP team by 1 point. So while there is hope for us to win, SP is still the king of the East until someone dethrones them. I just hope it’s us that does it tomorrow night
  13. Very true. They also said a team from the East had no shot at winning a gold ball and look how that turned out. Never know how November and the first weekend of December turns out until you line it up and play
  14. I figured Coalfield would be the favorite to come out of regions 1/2?
  15. You think Gville is no where near as good as Clay Co?
  16. I think we finally get the monkey off our backs after 10 years. Tigers by 1 score
  17. I think the key to this one will be if Gville can play mistake free football. 2 INTs and a few big plays given up against Clay is what got us beat. If we can eliminate that, I like our chances to come away with a win. Either way, looking forward to a great atmosphere and hopefully a great, injury free football game!
  18. Wow interesting. I really like hearing the history of some small town football teams. Especially being one with such a great winning tradition and one I see play my Gordonsville Tigers in the playoffs a lot of years. Thanks for the info!
  19. Out of pure curiosity, what year does the SP faithful claim they fielded the best team in school history? I know there’s been a lot of great ones but just curious on which is considered the best
  20. Anybody from SP have any info on Lookout Valley? Just looking at scores it seems that Gordonsville should win this one handily but was just curious on what kind of team LV has
  21. After seeing Gordonsville and Clay play, I think if South Pitt has any speed at all they should have the upper hand on Gville/Clay. Neither have any real playmakers and will have a hard time containing it on the defensive side of the ball
  22. If there’s a rematch 3 weeks from now. Gordonsville wins it by 2 scores I think. They looked like the better team except for a 3 minute stretch in the 3rd quarter and on a couple of trick plays (which was Celina’s whole offense pretty much)
  23. Only reason I’ve come up with is that Gville has 2 losses and one of them was to a not very good Watertown team. But Gordonsville is a much different team now than they were in week 1 and 2. But like you said, polls don’t really mean much anyways. Just something for us to talk about
