  1. Any rumors around Chattanooga who will get this one yet?
  2. Yeah, not sure who would want this one... any rumors?
  3. Any updates on who has interviewed or who would be the favorite?
  4. Current openings: Sweetwater Franklin (?) Humboldt Coffee County Soddy Daisy Lipscomb Forrest Goodpasture Knox Fulton Signal Mountain
  5. Hearing Humboldt will be a lengthy coaching search. They will continue to take resumes through the 27th of Nov. and look to interview that week. They want a coach in place in Jan as well so they will have to make the interview process quick after collecting resumes. Also hearing they want head football coaching experience, which again seems like it would be hard to come by.
  6. Looks like they will potentially be tied into that region for the long haul too. Whoever gets this job has their work cut out for them. According to the article 4 of the 6 have "Some kind" of head coaching experience. In order to compete with these schools they better have FOOTBALL head coaching experience and multiple years at that hahaha I do not have a dog in the fight, just love high school football across the state, I'm a west TN guy so I appreciate the incite on the program as well.
  7. Saw they had 31 apply and narrowed down to 6 to interview this week. They will narrow that pool to 3 and have another round of interviews soon after. Interested to see who they hire, that's a TOUGH region to play in.
  8. Hearing that Coach Smith at Hardin County is strongly considering stepping down as Head Football Coach now that Carter is done playing at HC. Obviously this in nothing official, but I have heard from people close to the situation. This would be a very interesting job opening if this does happen. Coach Smith has been a fantastic coach at HC and has pushed them to new heights. Could be one of the best jobs that open this cycle if it happens.
  9. Just off reading the rules, it looks like it would be a $500 fine per coach since I assume they were not approved by the director / TSSAA
  10. Article I, Section 9 of the TSSAA Bylaws states the following: All coaches must be registered with TSSAA annually and will fall under one of the following categories: Full-time certified teacher (a minimum of 100 school days) of a board of education with a Tennessee teaching license or the equivalent. Retired educator (five or more years' experience) with a valid Tennessee state teaching license or the equivalent. Non-faculty coach – Anyone approved by the principal, superintendent, and/or local board of education in the normal course of employment procedures in accordance with applicable state law. Classified Employee – Any individual employed by a member school or school system in a position that does not require a teaching license or the equivalent. A Classified Employee must be employed 30 hours or more per week in a non-coaching position and may not be an independent contractor or an employee of an independent contractor. Use of a coach who does not meet all the requirements listed below or the use of a Non-faculty Coach or Classified Employee Coach who has not been submitted to the state office shall result in a fine of $500.00. Use of a full-time certified teacher or retired educator who has not been submitted to the state office prior to the date of first contest allowed by the Sports Calendar shall result in a fine of $50.00. Coaching Requirements Checklist Retired Educators (five or more years of teaching experience) & Full-Time Certified Teachers (those who are currently teaching a minimum of 100 school days) are not considered non-faculty. These individuals have no other requirements. These individuals must be submitted by the principal to TSSAA each year. High School Classified Employees and Non-Faculty Coaches _____ Must be approved by principal, director of schools, and/or school board each year. _____ Must be submitted by the principal to TSSAA each year. _____ Must successfully complete the NFHS “Fundamentals of Coaching” and “First Aid, Health, & Safety for Coaches” courses prior to coaching.* Middle School Classified Employees and Non-Faculty Coaches _____ Must be approved by the principal, director of schools, and/or school board each year. _____ Must be submitted by the principal to TMSAA each year. _____ Must successfully complete the NFHS “Fundamentals of Coaching” and “First Aid, Health, & Safety for Coaches” courses prior to coaching.*
  11. Ripley's offense just is not good enough to keep up with Covington who is rolling. Covington is clicking on all cylinders when it matters most. I will pick Covington 42-6
  12. I think it will take a special kind of coach to fix this program. They obviously have talent, but I do not know if the kids care about football at all. No reason at all they should have been 0-10 this year looking at their schedule, other kids and coaches just wanted it a lot more then them. I think Humboldt could be a solid team next year if a coach comes in that will utilize the athletes in space and fixes some of their defensive flaws. I do not think many (if any) with head coaching experience will apply though, meaning they will probably be looking at trying to find a good local coordinator trying to get a head coaching start.
  13. Sweetwater (Is this still open from them firing dude midway?) Franklin Coffee County Forrest Humboldt Soddy Daisy Goodpasture These are the current openings that I have seen I have no clue if anymore are open though. I'm shocked that 1-2 more in West Tennessee are not open yet..
  14. Any news on this opening? Will the Interim get the job?
  15. Well I took Marshall County over Hardin County so I will not take that bet hahaha
  16. Millington's QB is legit, but outside of him I do not think they can keep up with Haywood. Ill take Haywood 42-17
  17. The rematch from week 6, I think it will be closer this time but I still think Huntingdon will win 28-24
  18. Middle College is a sound football team, but Dresden has played a much tougher schedule and is ready for playoff football. Ill take Dresden big 45-14
  19. I like Union City in this game in a shootout 42-35
  20. Oh I agree, I have heard quite a few rumors I wouldn't be shocked if 6 coaches get fired or forced out, add in the fact a few more coaches will be looking to move on from their current spot into another I wouldn't be shocked if 10-12 new coaches are in place in West Tennessee next season.
