I am a Cookeville high school alumni. I always hope they do well except if they play Upperman. My kids go to Upperman. The thing that makes Upperman better is the support in the community. I’m not saying they’re better players. I’m just saying the support is better from the whole community. I think it’s a disgrace that more people from Cookeville do not show up for the games. It is standing room only at Upperman every game, and if we had more seating it would still be full. I love the support those kids get and deserve. That’s the one thing that Cookeville people need to learn how to do is to support their team better. Good luck to the Cavs. I hope they win it all. Boys and girls.

Total numbers are not down, the only ones you see dressing on Friday nights are the varsity. The JV does not dress out on Fridays any longer. Numbers are about the same.

If the team stays healthy, they will be very good. The problem they have now is lack of depth. Defense looks pretty good very athletic and fast. Defensive line will be tough to handle. Defensive backs are the best we’ve had in a while. Depending on how the quarterback plays on the offense is how good the offense will be. So far he has looked pretty good.

First off, don’t get so offended by words, you’re right I don’t want to see Adam Caine leave because I’m really good friends with him. He is a very good coach and he is an old-school coach. Let me retract what I said about Gallatin. The facilities are not trash. They’re just outdated and as you say they’re fixing them that’s great but that’s not enough to lure him away. That’s what I’m saying. When Gallatin was relevant and really good back in the day when I was in high school, there was not many other schools in your area now they have to split that money between all the schools so they don’t have the funds they used to have just for Gallatin that may be one problem plus your community is not as big as what it used to be because they support other schools now . Do I think Caine could do a great job there, yes, I know he could but he loves where he’s at his family loves where he’s at it’s a small town that before he got here was not very good at football just OK. His old school mentality with the small community has been wonderful and they kind of gelled together. The kids absolutely resonate to him and absolutely love him. I do not feel at liberty to tell what he was offered and it’s not my place , but I do know, if anyone wants to know, they need to call him and ask him ! Don’t think I’m against Gallatin at all one of my very good friends played football there that lives here in Cookeville 2 streets over from me. I have no ill towards Gallatin and I’m not upset that Coach Caine is checking on jobs., Heck, I didn’t even graduate from Upperman. I actually went to Cookeville. I hope you guys do get a good coach and I hope you make it all the way to the state championships. I really do. The only reason I got on here was to let people know that he was offered and was contacted. He did not put him for the job. They contacted him. I’m telling you what I know and what I feel comfortable telling you.

I never said that Upperman facilities were not trash, I said Gallatin’s was, when you go to build a successful program you have to change the culture and that is not an easy job. It takes time and people to buy in. Gallatin was a great program years ago it’s not now, so what’s enticing someone to go there? Just because you guys say that they would be great. Maybe, maybe not, Coach Adam Caine, and his family Love Upperman and the Community, it would take a big offer for him to leave , because he’s already changed the culture and built a program that wins. Gallatin is not that great of a job even though you guys think it is. You can think I don’t know what I’m talking about all you want but I know the money he was offered, etc. I also know he turned it down. Maybe there’s a reason you don’t have a coach yet think about that !!

I know for a fact Adam Caine turned it down, The facility’s are terrible at Gallatin and the pay is not great but just ok..

You are spot on !!!!! Cookeville people are just mad because they can’t beat Upperman like always. Caine is one of the best football coaches in the state. The JVs played Monday night and Upperman destroyed Cookeville… Does that sound like things are gonna change anytime soon. Cookeville people need to stop crying…. Oh and by the way Rollins is a Baxter kid, he went to elementary school at Cornerstone. He only followed his travel football coach to Avery trace middle school. From there he went to Cookeville thinking that it would be great to play with his teammates and see how that went…. they finally realize the best coaching and best team would be to the west. Multiple kids have tried to come to Upperman and can’t make it in practice because how hard it is ….. to be honest Cookeville has three or four kids that were at Upperman last year that couldn’t make it….and what I’m telling is the complete truth!!!

This is got to be one of the stupidest post I’ve ever read . You obviously don’t know a whole lot about Football just a nuff to get yourself in trouble…He is the winningest coach in the history of the football program at Upperman High School, it only took him 4 years…. He has been to two semi finals in four years, been to the playoffs all four years and never lost A region game, no matter what classification Upperman is in !!!!.. There is no other coach in the upper Cumberland that could have done this job, if you think there’s one ……..who ? And why is he not at Upperman instead of Caine ? Personally I think we’re very blessed to have this man and I think the football program is in very capable hands, he’s in the top 5 in the state for winning percentage, I agree that some bad things happened The last game, but we had two kids Hurt that played anyways. The football boys , coaches and Especially Caine do not deserve to hear the negative crap that you’re putting out there. If you can’t support any better than this maybe you just need to walk away !!!! I personally think they had a wonderful year and we’re lucky to have Coach Caine ….. GO BEES

We will see ....... I do agree that he for sure is a defensive minded coach. And as far as everything else we will see what happens. I expect an apology whenever everything is said and done. 3rd place next yr........ NOTED.

You my friend are a complete idiot. Do you realize the amount of talent that graduated the last two yrs. I do agree Caine saw the talent level at Upperman and that’s one reason he came...... just remember Herron quit , he didn’t get fired , he quit, who would you have hired? Caine has more knowledge in his pinky than you in your whole body. This same team you are dogging will be back next yr. a lot better you’re only losing two or three starters. If players were out of position...... tell me which ones and when and where..... sure you can’t because you have no idea. So you’re saying all the players that he got from the coach before Were all developed under the couch before ... lol ... most of those players werent even playing the year before they were sitting the bench. Everyone knows Herrons last year coaching .... Williams was actually running the team . Herron wasn’t even at half of the practices .......your turn

Oh and by the way..... in the past Upperman has went 8-4 or better a total of 6 times. 1 time with Maynard, 2 times with Herron .......... Wait for it, wait for it.............3 times in 3 yrs with Caine ........See you don’t have a clue . I think I just set you straight, LOL

If you’ve been watching Upperman Football since the 80s then you should know this has been the best run ever buy this organization. You obviously know nothing about college recruiting either, kids don’t get recruited from football games, they have to attend camps and if a school is interested they will come watch them play then. This is high school football so they know that a player can go in different directions when it gets to the big stage. Once again know what you’re talking about before you spout out. If you want to help the program about getting better Asst. coaches maybe you should reach out with some money because everyone knows they don’t get paid crap for the hrs they put in . And by the way this time would be a lot better next year, mark it down big boy..... 100% Guaranteed !!!
