Huntingdon should be #1. After last Friday I would have Marion about 7-10.

That's the thing with having speed at skill positions. A team can go ground and pound for 7 or 8 minutes and score but in 1 play that drive can be totally forgotten. Whether or not the same coaches are there the next couple seasons I believe Forrest will get over the hump. There are a lot of good kids on that team.

Wouldn't surprise me to see the Warriors finish undefeated and lose in the 1st rd.

People that are saying that don't watch this team every week. I've seen them play maybe 5 good quarters all year.

Rockets beat themselves tonight. Played a very good game except for all the personal fouls. Have to get those under control to win tight games.

2nd rd ceiling for this version of the Warriors

Warriors lucky to be winning. This is why Warrior fans say this team would get mercy ruled by those 2015-16 teams.

Actually our middle school wasn't that great this year. Made it to the championship but lost a few games this season. We'll always take the smoke though. We like smoke signals and smoking peace pipes. Always a good time.

That's what the Warriors went through a couple years. It's paying off now and next year.

Sounds like a rough place

Haven't seen you on in a while (Just kidding)

Marion has played more spread teams this year but have played a couple bigger, more downhill type teams. DL personnel changes according to the type team they play. (For instance the Brainerd game you saw online. At different times the DL had 2 sophomores and a freshman playing just to help with keeping their speed contained.) We do have a young man playing DE sometimes who is maybe 5'4 & 150lbs. He's small but you have to put 2 people on him to block him he is so quick. He averages around 3 to 4 TFL a game and blows up a lot of plays he doesn't get on the stat sheet for. LB crew usually stays the same and they are around 6'1 215, 6'2 235 and 6'3 225. Secondary is built on speed with kids from 5'8 165 to 6' 200. Warriors aren't big but aren't small either.

I don't say that to disrespect any of the kids. They are a talented bunch. Let's just say they haven't reached that level yet. Maybe they can but right now they're just not there.

Most Marion folks realize this team is no where near what those '15 &'16 teams were. The Brainerd game was awful but we were coming off a big win against Sequatchie so most figured a let down. They honestly haven't played 4 qtrs of good football. The 4th qtr against Fayetteville and the first 2 qtrs against Sequatchie they looked good. Last week's Tyner game the defense played great but we just never got into a rhythm. That's one of the things I worry about getting into the playoffs. Some games they just show up and win on athleticism. A lot harder to do that against good teams.

A few years ago Hargis wrote an article about the top 10 area state champions he has covered. The 2007 Pirate team was the highest rated SP team on his list at #8. The 94 team was an honorable mention.

Hopefully the program gets on the right direction soon (just not by Friday's game). Whether it's a staff change or what. The kids and community deserve it.

Well the DC was already on staff. Just swapped some roles. MC played with a lot of sophomores last year so being older and more experienced has helped too. The principal is very committed to sports and the AD as well.

I wouldn't expect a shootout this season. New DC seems to have the kids dialed in. Front 7 gets a lot of pressure on QBs and the secondary is pretty solid. First time in many years that if we're playing a good passing team we don't have sleepless nights lol. Added a former Coach (Troy Boeck) back to the staff to work with OL/DL and you can tell he's helped a lot. Warriors will come into Chapel Hill a couple feathers short I'm afraid. Basically the same skill kids from last season so you may recognize names and numbers.

I watched 4 of Smith's games. They are good but if the Warriors play like they're capable they can score.

I've seen a few of their games. Can't really go by video only but you can tell they're a good team.

It has somewhat. Hopefully our kids won't take them too lightly.
