Something is wrong in OR. Earlier, I predicted OR would be tough late, I was wrong. It doesn't matter we had guys hurt and we have most of them back, something is wrong with the OR team. I'm gonna with hold judgment until next season, I just know something isn't right in OR football
-
I expect a close one, too. Settled in the last 4 minutes either way.
-
Agree. CCHS couldn't run the ball well at all, it seems like the D would have been oriented to pass D more.
-
Gonna agree, good logic here.
-
I'm surprised at the poor D both teams had to be honest. Looked like modern offense defended by a 1950 defense. I know Coach Price is CCHS DC, but, he needs to re think that, he's an offensive mind.
-
92 Dragons has it right, if CHS took PHS to the wire, so can OR. Plus we had the open week. It should be a last 2-3 minutes decides the game deal.
-
I'll pick Clinton. I think the Price brothers have gotten CCHS to a good point where you have to play a good game to beat them, used to be it was a guaranteed win, those days are over and I'm glad they are better. Based on the common opponent, gotta go with the Dragons who whooped up on the Purple Pounders of Chattanooga.
-
Powell probably wins, but, OR had an off week last week to rest and game plan against the Mighty Panthers. I won't be shocked if OR beats them or gets beat.

You sat near my son and I at that game, I know exactly who you are talking about. My son mentioned the guy tonight, said he was the most positive supporter he's ever seen.
-
He reminds me of a junior version of Todd Helton in this respect. Really good at improvising.
-
Oh no, we were without 3 really good players( I mean really good), but it was hardly our JV and to be honest, the kids that started did a good job themselves. We just had a hard game against a good CHS team and found a silver bullet late with a power formation which won't work on FHS. Cats will have to play better on D and O, IMO.
-
I think OR will be a good team late in the season. Not good enough to go to the state championship though, need stronger lines for that or an awesome QB.
-
I don't think OR will be a good team until about the last couple of seasonal games. It's gonna take time for Scott to get the QB thinking properly, he's good with QBs and this one is brand new to him, the entire team needs time to confidently get the new systems working and we're missing the injured guys. Personally, I would not play Jai Friday. Not until he is 100%, as much as I want to win every game, this isn't a district deal.

It's high unless you live in Anderson or Roane county, then it's around $3500. > $7K if you live outside, this is 2018 data so it's higher now: OAK RIDGE SCHOOLS (ortn.edu)
-
Their passing game has killed OR the last few seasons. We could not provide any pressure, their OL was real good at pass protection.
-
OR doesn't. In Knox County, you can live across the street from AE and if you declare in middle school, you can legally play anywhere in Knox County. Can't do that and play here, you either move here or fork out around $6000 per year tuition.

It was a great rivalry game. OR just found a silver bullet late on the stack formation and I re watched the game, I think the CHS D was tiring there late in the 4th quarter. On the controversial 4th down spot, is the player down when his head hits? If so, the spot was super close, if not, he got a 1st down by at least 1'. I do not know the rules on that. Anyway, next time we play in OR you need to come early and let's have a cold one at Crafter's Brew, I ran into a CHS couple( dude played in 82) Friday and we had fun talking about old times.
-
I am almost 68, graduated from ORHS in 1972 and I have never heard of 1 player that started at AE and moved to OR. Want to give us the kid's name that moved to OR? I never have heard of 1. Ever.
-
I haven't seen a replay, but, I wondered if that was what happened. We'll all see a replay eventually.
-
He was. Guy is a good LB and doing a good job blocking from that power formation late.
-
Yea, this is one of those games where ( I am getting old) I feel bad for the Clinton fans. They really played a good game. Good looking team. That final drive for OR I was like, "where's that been"? They bowed their necks there. On the spot that CHS didn't make the 1st down late, I'd have to see it on replay, I thought it was a 1st down when it happened. Either CHS got a bad spot OR the way the tackle happened, the CHS TB flipped in the air and he might have landed with the ball backwards instead of forward. Have to see the replay to know. The tackle knocked the snot out of 23 for OR he hit him so fast and hard( or was it Kelly????).

There's a former AC player who posts here and he said he will never pull for them again until the current folks are gone due to the incident with those 2 kids. He said he was surprised cops were not contacted.

Bearden's HC. Where ever he goes, kids follow him from various Knox County jurisdictions. It's legal, too as long as they declare in middle school. Knox County was made for a recruiter like Josh. Fulton is awesome, then he moves to CAK. CAK gets good, then to Powell, PHS gets awesome, then to Bearden and I can vouch he has a ton of kids that do not live in Bearden playing JV and freshman ball. They have a lot of upcoming talent and will be good. Problem for Josh is Maryville long term.
-
Well, that's what getting old does to your mind. The rest of that story is accurate, ha!
-
No doubt. Worst punting I have ever seen in my life. OR would get a stop and pretty much take over the ball close to there. Great example of the value of STs.
