Club and travel exist for the admin salaries, no other reason. Take away those salaries and see how long the organizations remain. I think they are useful, but anyone who says club, aau, travel is superior to HS is most likely benefiting from selling parents the thousands of dollars a year dream, and almost all a parents I know who have went that route, spent more on travel than they got back in scholarship. It's gatekeeping, and then we wonder why we aren't getting the best athletes in all sports now. Look at USA mens soccer, total gatekeeping programs, and they have the best facilities, best everything, but still can't get the best athletes because of this nonsense.

Clarkrange has a history no one can match? LA can Jackson can I love the "We only lose games we are supposed to" argument... #6 in the State? State polls and rankings are always ridiculous, try again.

Everyone knows clubs, aau, non school leagues are about making money for administrators. I coach and can tell you I get more juco, and 4 year hits than local clubs. For every 1 kid in club ball that gets division 1, there are dozens who end up at Maryville or some school with no scholarship program. This is all just a sales pitch, gotta keep making money for administration, and pretending like it is the only way. Gatekeeping hurts sports, and that is all you are doing.

This is less of a glowing moment for TC, and more of an utter embarrassment for Watertown. I mean grab onto it and celebrate it if you want, Tyner will humiliate TC.

Honestly, anyone who spouts this, "it was just as hard back in the day nonsense." I automatically envision and balding white guy with a beer gut who stands at a fence and mutters, "Kids just don't have the discipline anymore... I could call a better game than thaty" You guys act like football in this state wasn't ridiculous, heck, 1/2 of the high schools in this state didn't even field teams in the 80's. Some people aren't looking back to the eras where teams beat the heck outta all their locals and called themselves "State Champions". If that era was so glorious, why don't we do things like that now lol? I'm sure teams like Livingston Academy, Trousdale County, Cumberland County, Cookeville, and alot of these other sad sacks would love to go back to the 80s and 90's and beat the heck outta tiny schools and scream 9-1 WOO!
