Your accuracy is on point for Dresden & probably for McNairy too. But Johnson is just an assistant not the captain of the W ship. Hopefully Westview will work out in best interest for them both. But, in Weakley, say what you will, it's who your family rubs shoulders with. How else would a coach make the laps you described, not be from Weakley County & wind up at (at either job) Westview as they gear up for non-stop title runs? OBVIOUSLY more than football.

In the running? For what? Even 1A Dresden hung 28-0 on them in the few minutes of a Jamboree in Paris & it could've been worse without JV playing. It was incredibly worse than that the year prior at a scrimmage in Camden with same schools. Defense wasn't their only trouble. But Camden gets a fresh start this year, new coach, new look, new vibe. They deserve a chance to at least see where it falls. So many posts happy to see McConnell to hit the road, yet Westview fans have rented half of Chattanooga for December stays for the next decade. (Chris Coleman aside- that's the REAL winning hire to me) I'm just a football fan that loves to see the kids compete & play. I wish both of these programs luck for the kids sake. However, maybe I'm the only one, but everything surrounding this guy seems total love or hate with not much in between. It just seems odd. No hate from me, just conversation here. Did McConnell not have assistant coach help at Camden? Budget too tight? Right or wrong control freak 100% on everything? Just game plan to outscore everyone & not worry about the rest? So many kids play both ways at this level, how could they be good enough athletes to pile on 50 point games, yet not gain some form of respect on D? McConnell loses a coin toss in Martin & there will be grumbles from the stands, is he really ready for that after what he has/has not accomplished at Camden? Just for conversation.

Wow, did not realize how close both schools already were to 4A already. Just for conversation; if pushed to 4A, would either team want apply to move back to 3A if say maybe they were only over the limit by a couple of kids? Or would they relish moving up? Advantages/disadvantages to doing so? (besides Alcoa) I will outright admit I neither know nor even barely understand all of the politico behind the scenes with TSSAA. Their actual connection to the pure education side of things either. That said, how will the 10,000 be selected/allowed? How is that different than kids transferring now? Application? Non-econ challenged; does this mean basic high income private school kids that I'm assuming go where they want anyhow? Or does this just open the door wider for Division 2 to steal more public school talent? Or is the 10k for public schools as a back door for the "special school district" rules, that around NW TN appear to be run like a protectionary private club, that allows them to enforce things they want to shun on the front page of the local newspaper, yet allow what they want behind the scenes without the scrutiny? No disrespect to the thread starter here. My intention is not to veer so far off the topic of coaching changes, you just mentioned an interesting tidbit I'd like to know more about if you have time.

No kidding!! The 4 lane from SF to UC, the Purchase Parkway through West KY, both already limited access 4 lane roads, a decade later, looks the same, still not even close to finishing. My grandkids won't see I-69 make it through TN. Ridiculous.

Lots of truth here. Westview is like the Dallas Cowboys of TN HS football. Kids are kids, definitely not rooting against them. But the bandwagon fans & daddy ballers are gonna win championships every year. Forget Alcoa or East Nashville, if you can't even dominate your region, the title talk falls soft...... except in the center of the universe. And if you can't win in 3A, how exactly are 4A bosses gonna treat you? So, in another year Dyersburg & Covington will still have to battle each other for region supremacy while The View looks to head back to 2A. We've all seen this show before. Or, just for conversation is Covington/Dyersburg making a move up to 4A or more? With the new Ford plant down there how will it affect those schools even though they aren't in Haywood County? Maybe Covington more so, being closer to the action? And, is this going to push Haywood to 5 or 6A? Or will they split with another new school? Maybe it's too early to tell?

Yeah I agree. I definitely didn't mean for my question to come across as Lake will get the scraps left over from other vacancies. Should've worded that better. Away from the pay & or distant location or teaching responsibilities, etc., I think this is a premium gig so far as football goes. I just wondered if they had an obvious name in waiting. Someone that might get a chance to move home or the like. It does make me wonder, with all the good teams they've had, why don't, or do they have a list of alum's that could take over the program and wouldn't use it as a stepping stone.?

Just a thought, is there a time limit on the broadcast? For example, if I record a game on TV, when the time slot ends, so does my recording. The game being over has no relevance. If it happened to be a slow game, lot of fouls?? Maybe they just went over the time slot? Not cool, whatever the case. But I've had it done to me before on regular cable, game go to overtime & I missed all of the OT

and New York City.

OK, I'll bite. Just conversation here, football is over for the year all we have to do is chatter. The past 3 alignments have shown Westview 2017-21 3A #619 students, 21-23 2A #509 students, 23-25 3A #558 students. Assuming Martin does graduate some students, huge MS classes coming in, and Westview is going to gain #200 more kids to jump into 4A? Or petition & play up to 4A because they can like Pearl Cohn. I direly hope you are correct that Martin & Weakley County will grow that much & I ain't talking about the school system. However, moving to 4A will gain a Region of Obion Central that feels the need to schedule Fulton County, KY. So not a big Region win there. Beating Fayette Ware is not what it used to be. Haywood will be an issue, but playing 1 hard region game a year doesn't speak volumes. Dyer & Crockett seem to be .500-ish teams that can beat anyone or lose to anyone on any given night. So, HS lasts 4 years, complete change out of kids, so I don't care who played who in the 90's, or decades before that or even 15 years ago. In the past 4-5 years, who has Westview regular season scheduled & "played up" to make someone believe they could compete with the elite in 4A? Again, this is not hate speech, don't take it that way, we are all just lost in our lives because football is over for 8 more months. Will Westview schedule Henry County now? Go play Southwind? Collierville? Someone good, not just because they have a 5A or 6A class attached to their name & call it an incredible win. I mean if Union City has the brass to schedule Ensworth, at home, what's on the platter for Westview to show what they're really capable of & deserve to move into 4A or play up into that class? Man we all love our teams, I respect that. But anything less than an alien abduction of Alcoa & maybe East Nashville & I still see 2A coming for Westview in the crystal ball. But, maybe I'm wrong.
