  1. El Ray's is one step above Taco Bell. Jarred pico, terrible guac, steak is dry. York has been having attitude issues all year and it just kept building and building. They really let that #1 ranking go to their heads as the weeks went on. It's usually the same ones game after game. I won't bring up names but it's the same ones over and over. They are actually good kids off the field but they act like idiots once they start playing. I think the staff was having difficulties trying to tow the line between swagger/confidence and cockiness/disrespectfulness. They obviously didn't succeed. It was mostly their stars and senior leaders that were the culprits so that makes it hard because the other kids see that and think it's ok and follow along. It will be interesting to see how they act next year. They will have to replace a ton of players and their schedule will be tough. Region 2 will be a much more competitive region next year.
  2. Great season by York. 2 trips in a row to semi-finals is very impressive. Anybody who tries to dog on them now is a fool. Give credit where credit is due. They were the best team in Quad 1 by far two years in a row.
  3. They better be able to block Michael Wall. He can take a game over. They can try and run away from him but he moves quite a bit.
  4. Very good. And the guys that announce are really good guys. Pro York but really good guys.
  5. The kid from Friendship was by far the best running back that York has seen so far this year. They handled him OK. But it sounds like this kid is on another level.
  6. The only game up until last Friday that I saw of ER was vs Monterey and they didn’t look like a final four team at all. Now vs Smith last week they certainly did. But so did York. They’ve been pretty much scoring at will in the playoffs. Should be a good game hopefully.
  7. For those going, I highly recommend Garcia’s Mexican Restaurant for supper before the game. 2 minutes from the stadium.
  8. He has been and was a good player last year for them as their starting tailback got hurt real early. He’s the co-op kid from Clarkrange.
  9. #3 is sneaky good. They have so many backs that can hurt you.
  10. I can tell you the kids from Oneida are rooting for York. Spoke with a bunch of them on Tuesday night. They want to see York win it all. For whatever that's worth.
  11. I've been to a ton of West Henderson games over the years. That level of football in Asheville has tons of talent.
  12. And there are only 2 kids that see meaningful minutes from Clarkrange and one is a senior. He still plays basketball for Clarkrange. And you can’t compare Pisgah to York. Pisgah would be a 4A school in TN and the Asheville area is much much different as far as demographics. The football around Asheville is very very good. Tons of athletes and speed. Not a fair comparison. But York definitely played the harder schedule overall. This week will be a different animal though. If ER can stay disciplined and focused, they are legit good.
  13. Except they beat all 3 of those teams by an average of 27 points. And that number would go up by a lot if they played Bledsoe later in the year. They also beat a team that’s actually playing for a state title next week. You are definitely a clown. It’s ok to lose with grace. I get it, the kids are extremely cocky on the field. But I know several of them and they are actually really good kids. One thing those 3 teams don’t have is Michael Wall. Hampton doesn’t have anybody even close to that.
  14. You want kids to be mentally tough but that's alot to ask of 15-18 year olds. The kids know that when a guy like that goes down, they have very little chance of pulling an upset. Definitely can deflate a team and knock their confidence out of them. Then everyone plays flat and once York gets up on them by 2 scores, it spirals even worse. I still think York wins by a couple scores if he did play, but stinks that it was under those circumstances. Still a really good season
  15. Was it just a fluke thing? Turn an ankle after stepping on someone’s foot?
  16. York’s backup is their starting TB(Miller). The 3rd string is the starting wing back (Drake). The backup actually is a better passer than Leffew. Next year they will put Drake at QB I think and let Miller play TB. But I’m not sure they miss a beat with Miller in game. He played the entire second half vs Grace and did very well. I doubt they lose a game to be honest. Their offense isn’t built around 1 guy and it’s very easy to learn.
  17. I think a wet field favors York. It may neutralize some of their speed advantage but I think defensively it will help them keep Hampton bottled up.
  18. Thought about going to see Powell vs West but I don't like the cold or the rain and after seeing CF vs Oz is going to be on tv, I may just stay home and watch that.
  19. I'm pretty sure Treece was off a bit. I believe someone told me that the week after. Missed a couple guys wide open apparently which he doesn't normally do. I'm not saying that was the reason it was close but I did hear that
  20. They fail on a 2 point conversion and then make the second. I know math is hard.
