It definitely is. The skilled trades program is doing wonders for Tennessee. Manufacturing might have left the midwest, but it hasn't left us here.

Kingsport here. Children of chemists and engineers are mingled with most of the population in high school. Most dont make much more than skilled tradesmen. I'd only expect the executives to live apart from most of the "general population". Also has a personality difference. Seen this before. Government doesn't want to build new high schools. High schools get flooded. The kids in the flooded high schools dont get the attention and talent development they need. By the time they build new high schools they missed the opportunity to snowball their city/town into something greater. However, the kids still there get more than the average attention and talent development

Plants make a big difference. I live in Kingsport and if Eastman wasn't here the population wouldn't be at 50,000. Covington might even hit 40,000.

I don't think Alcoa has the right to complain about short travel considering the places they go to recruit people lmao.

I think Greeneville and Betsy have more to do with logistics than being "scared". Betsy is 2 hours from Alcoa. They don't want to do that when they can just play against local 5A and 6A schools like Science Hill and Daniel Boone.

There are definitely better teams in 4A than the ones you currently play. 3A pretty much sucks except for Alcoa and maybe East Nash. I think the AD would care more about winning state in 4A than competing with Knox West and Central for the 5A title. Especially considering they just smashed yall

I don't know anything about West Tennessee except seeing them lose in the playoffs in 3A-6A every year. Maybe yall are good in 1A and 2A, but I dont really watch those two

Cherokee and West Greene going down in classification will be good for those teams. All teams getting out of 5A, 6A, and 3A will be better for it. Knoxville area teams pretty much run those classifications. Westview going to 3A will be tough along with those other teams. Westview should of gone to 4A instead of dealing with Alcoa imo.

Knox West is a really good 5A team. They will win state. Just like Alcoa. Unlike East Nash lmaooooo

Pretty much yeah. Only contenders around here are E town and Greeneville.

I wouldn't either. Guy definitely knows what he's doing. Took a school at the edge of the state with less talent development than places like Nashville area or Knoxville area and turned them into state champions multiple times.

That's also been huge parts of the success at Alcoa and Maryville. Coaches can use games like this to get the 2s and 3s chances to shine, and it can really snowball into a great program. Dobyns-bennett could of built a dynasty starting in 2019, but they didn't. They'll completely collapse again one of these years.

Yea but Coach Christian is getting old, and his son is a senior this year. A lot of coaches stop coaching high school or lower once their kids graduate. Hoping once he is gone we can get a better OC and HC. I do worry if our o line will suffer or not. He's one of the best o line coaches in the state.

I gauge them as a team whose coaching staff will always have their team as the best they can possibly be in the best positions come playoff time. Unfortunately, I can't say the same for Boone's coaching staff. They have some pretty good players who can pull them through. I'm not sure how they'll handle Knox West.

It really is amazing how well the Betsy coaching staff has their team do regardless of their talent.

Oakland lost to a private school. They can still easily cruise through the bracket against public schools.
