  1. Good point. It's not really about rolling over. I know this Clay Co bunch will fight hard but it could still be running clock, I think they're that outmatched
  2. Quarles became head coach in '99 but he started coaching at Maryville in '95
  3. Yeah it’s just hard for me to see it being close. Clay will have to try to control the clock and keep McKenzie’s offense on the sideline as much as possible but it’s obviously gonna be much easier said than done. I know Clay hasn’t played against an offense as good as McKenzie’s this year but I don’t think they’ve played against a defense as good either. The shutout against MASE last week was impressive for sure.
  4. I re-watched the McKenzie-SP game from last year the other day. McKenzie definitely shot themselves in the foot a few times which played a huge part in SP winning that game. I’d also agree with what others have said in that this year’s Clay Co team won’t be able to match up as well with McKenzie as last year’s SP team could.
  5. Clay is not that big on the offensive and defensive lines. McKenzie will have an advantage there as well
  6. Most of those bashing Maryville are the ones that are jealous of the success they’ve had
  7. I will say that Beech plays the kind of game that has the most potential to give Oakland some problems. If they’re able to get their power run game rolling and keep Oakland’s offense on the sidelines things could really get interesting
  8. If Beech can hold Oakland to 28 points they will have accomplished something
  9. Great post, best of luck to the Rebels in Chattanooga
  10. I’ve been wanting to see Beech and Oakland match up this season, should be fun to watch. I do think Beech can keep this one competitive similar to how Summit did last year. In the end I think Oakland has a little too much but good luck to both teams
  11. I think this one could get ugly but Clay Co will fight hard for sure. Congrats to both on a great season and good luck next week
  12. Well said, congrats to Maryville on a great season. No shame in losing to a very very good Oakland team
  13. Happy Thanksgiving! Safe travels to Murfreesboro on Friday
  14. I would ask you to elaborate but this thread honestly doesn’t deserve any more attention/discussion
  15. Makes sense, thanks. I thought I had read somewhere that he had a daughter playing volleyball at Lipscomb but wasn't sure if that was what brought him or not. As far as the football aspect of it, I'm sure he could be coaching college ball somewhere if he desired to do so but it sounds like at least for the time being he's happy where he is.
  16. Off topic but does anyone know what brought Dilfer to LA? Just curious
  17. I understand getting behind your team but you're delusional if you actually believe this
  18. There's always the potential for McKenzie to come out flat after such an emotional win in the game that everyone has been hyping up all season. I'm not predicting that to be the case, but I've definitely seen it happen before.
  19. Seems like that door is probably closed. What would they do with Derek Hunt in that scenario?
  20. Is Ralph's Donut Shop open on Black Friday? That's the more important question for the Maryville folks
