  1. Didn't Karns go to the Region tourney last season? It is interesting how short-sighted we all are. Maybe the more interesting thing is how optimistic we all are.
  2. Not remotely a fan of WHS, but I can't say that I'm a big fan of the 'Canes either. How can you be? Even true East fans can't be happy with their current situation. Altizer could care less about baseball success. Also, get the chip off your shoulder. If you have an issue with the fans of other programs it is a sign that you are confident in your own team.
  3. If I recall correctly, East also was the reg. season champ of that district last season, yet they failed to get out of the tourney. But forget all of that; it is obvious that you are right. East has had tremendous success since the firing of ex-head coach and current Carson Newman skipper Tom Griffin. He won a district championship (tourney-the one that counts) in his only year there, and I don't think it's been done since. Bow to the Trojans
  4. Good question? Beavers didn't look too good to me. Did someone say that there was a Beaver with a volleyball and a basketball? Talented rodent.
  5. never been to either- hit some golf balls into one of them though
  6. upper east tn fields 1. Farragut 2. Bearden 3. Bill Meyer/Helton Ridley 4. Dobyns Bennet 5. Science Hill* 6. Maryville @ the college 7. Oak Ridge 8. Heritage 9. William Blount** 10. Campbell Co.** *-Would be #1, but it isn't really their field, so they do no work on it **-way too far to drive for anyone
  7. The only story I've ever heard about "mangers" is in the Bible, so I guess that it is just seredipity that you put that in the thread about Catholic. However, I am no Catholic fan; nor am I a fan of Coach Sullivan. I do know him, though, and I am certain that he is the class of the three coaches you chose to mention.
  8. Tick-Tick-Tick-Do you hear the Pioneers coming? Bad day for the Beavers.
  9. A great example of what? If you two continue to talk about the lack of good coaching at Catholic, everyone with an IQ abve that of a vegetable will be forced to consider you mentally unstable. Also, everyone on here knows to whom others were referring when they mentioned recruiting.
  10. rutledge plays at karns on tuesday-should be a whippin' for the beaver believers
  11. what region/district is notre dame?
  12. That is probably the dumbest post that has ever gone up on any website.
  13. unfortunately the karns game will probably be a bit boring since the beavers couldn't hit water if they fell out of a boat
  14. I know that the addition of Doc Ramsey is key. Though he will only coach the seventh graders, he will have a future impact. He has a good deal of pitching knowledge.
  15. If regular season conference play isn't that important, why would the conf. coaches choose to play so many conference games? Wouldn't they want to play other opponents and attempt to prepare for the tourney? Also, won't it lead to higher scores in the district tournament? Each team will now have an opportunity to see all of the decent starters in the league before the tourney. Will any of these teams be competitive in region play, or will Science Hll and DB continue to send the IMAC packing?
  16. I hope you're kidding. That field, and what used to be a historic park, is now in shambles. The city Parks and Rec department have leveled to old bleachers, overhang, and press box, and replaced them with concrete. The field, though it has new grass, hasn't changed at all. There was no change in the foolishly bad slope from right to left field, and the sprinkler system was installed after the grass went down. People in Motown seem to be a bit lost on their park.
  17. Despite the obvious resemblance of a college series, what advantages do IMAC teams have when they play so converence games per season? These high school teams are only allowed to play in four tournaments per year, with a maximum of 32 games. Don't you think that many of the IMAC teams hurt their postseason chances by continually playing teams who don't figure into any kind of postseason picture? For instance, wouldn't it benefit a team like West or Jeff Co. to play some other regional competition rather than add two more games with teams like Cocke Co. and Cherokee?
  18. What are you talking about?
  19. The Lenoir City and Farragut fields aren't even comparable. On the one hand, you are playing in a WWF wrestling cage(LC), and on the other, you are plying at a minor league-type venue. Are you kidding?
  20. I was also on-hand for last night's game. Bearden's players and coaches deserve the respect and admiration of the community and school. Those young men played with passion, class, and reflected the character of their coaching staff. Hats off to a great group of seniors and young men.
  21. CoachT needs to remove the hornet immediately. This is no place for that kind of immature, grossly vulgar response.
  22. Prediction-Bearden #1 seed Farragut #2 Seed Who will SD pitch today that can stop the admirals? Is Holland okay to go? Was that an injury outing the other night? If so, how did he get hurt? It will be interesting to see Catapano and Lockwood on Monday.
