I dont wear jaded glasses....I dont have a dog in the hunt...but from what I see as a bystander is what I stated. Franlin didnt get far enought to even lose in the regionals, so what does that tell you?...the girls didnt lose the Brentwood game, it was clearly poor coaching from what I saw.

McGavock played their hearts out...and should be commended for not ever giving up after being behind 4 runs in the last inning. They had their one shot at beating a superior team, and they did just that.

std...you are soooo right....today was elimination day...and I have never heard of a coach not pitching his/her best on that day this late in the toourney...its not like she was tired or anything...and she also would of been well rested by wed for the finals...but too late now. Brentwood probably didnt have the team this year to win State...they were too young...but they definitely had the team to be there.

At the start of the year, all 3 pitchers were about equal...although young....but Bailey Lott emerged as their no 1 by being the most consistant...and she pitched all the important games in the districts....With Harmon not pitching very much lately, I assumed she was their no. 3...she started this game, and Mashburn was no. 2..she gave up 6 runs in the last inning.

I havent downgraded any team or individual player....just because I dont think your daughter is the second coming of babe ruth doesnt mean I am putting her down...what I have stated are my opinions, and just because they may not agree with you, doesnt mean I'm wrong...you being a parent of the player, you cant see the forest for the trees....my statement about BA being down this year is no way saying they are bad....BA has had some very good teams in the 90's, of which this years team cant compete....many BA fans who I know have told me the same thing.

Being in the winners bracket finals in the middle region doesnt mean a whole lot. the private schools arent as good as the public division this year...and i guess getting to play st. cecelia and harpeth hall alot will build anyones record. look me up after the state tourney and see who was correct.

Poor coaching by Brentwood by thinking they had this game in the bag. They started their no. 3 pitcher...and eventually put in their no 2 pitcher and watched her give up 6 runs in the last inning. Two dropped fly balls didnt help either, but I guess they are saving their no. 1 pitcher for next year.

I didnt say that Tarrah was the best pircher...just that she was the most valuable to her team..You cant pick everyone...and the catchers you mentioned are not as good as Cavarro from Brentwood.....and although the others you mentioned, kristi King is a good choice...but I would take the Brentwood players over Fowler. The world in district 11AAA began and ended with Brentwood this year. They had the best team by far....they gave up very few runs to the district when they used any of their 1-3 pitchers.

I dont have a dog in this hunt, but thats usually the way that all-tourney's are selected..by giving the winning team 4 players, runner-up 3, and so on....since coffee county won, they also deserve the mvp.

I know it probably wont come out like this, but the MVP of the league should be Tarrah Tucker of Hickman County....I dont know of any player more valuable to her team than she is. To get them to the regionals, and almost winning the district tourney was a miracle in intself. The pitcher for Centennial deserves to be on it too...and give the remaining 7 slots to the top 7 players of Brentwood, because they pretty much dominated the league and they would probably be the best players on any of the other teams.

Hickman county has one of the best pitchers around. They are the ones that need to find a way to score a run early, and then ride her back

I've seen st. benedict many times this year..and also all the middle tennessee and east tennessee teams....and no one compares to baylor and GPS...what happened last year has no bearing at all on this year.

The tourney was a very good one, and what the coaches did by giving out those scholarships was even better. Congrats to the MTSCA coaches...and shame on those coaches that dont join....I hope they see what they did by not joining - depriving some of their seniors a chance to win some scholarship money.

thats not good that the coach didnt get notified of the meeting....but it wouldnt have changed the result..since he couldnt vote for himself anyways....but maybe that shows that the other coaches dont like him very much....alot of times, those polls are nothing more than popularity contests.

Riverdale plays at home Monday...against Lincoln County

I'm not making assumptions...I have seen all the good division II teams play, and they arent in the same ballpark as gps and baylor...if anyone folds to the pressure, it will be the other teams because they havent beaten the callibre teams that they have.

katfo...glad you can finally put the owls to sleep for the year. You didnt believe me about 6 weeks ago, but I told you then that your "great" pitcher wouldnt even get them out of the districts.

They ought to save time and money by just letting GPS and Baylor play the best two out of three in chattanooga for the state title,. None of the other privates schools come close to them.

If your team was heavily favored to win your district, and didnt do anything more than expected, then sometimes a coach of the year award goes to a team that exceeded expectations....dont necessarily agree with that logic, but its the way its done alot. And also, since the award is voted by the coaches, a new coach sometimes get bypassed because he/she hasnt developed any friendships in the league yet.

With Cleveland coming in 2nd place in the district, no wonder your league doesnt get any respect.

Not so fast...its not a done deal they will be playing hickman county...HC beat Brentwood tonight, so they have to play again tomorrow. HC has a really good pitcher, with few bats, so she has to keep it a low scoring game.
