    CAK-Alcoa?

Not a single post about the A-AA final? I see that the score was 4-2 to CAK. Can someone provide some details?
  2. This late in the game it would be hard, if not close to impossible, for an unsigned senior to be formally "recruited" to play at a school. That said, if you were really REALLY dedicated, you should contact the coach at your intended school and ask about walk-ons. Most schools (particularly D3's who give no aid), have a walk-on tryout during the pre-season. These can be extremely competitive (in my experience) and the kids often don't have a lot of time to show their merit. It is possible to get a spot though and I have seen it happen more than once. Time is of the essence and the sooner you get in contact with a coach the better. Make sure they understand your intentions. Don't be afraid to be blunt and ask questions (like will you actually have a chance). If you want it bad enough and show your talent, then a good coach will have no reasonable answer as to why you shouldn't be on the team. However, you're also competing against the "recruits" and will have to be spectacular in order to replace one's spot, as a college team is only allowed so many men on a roster. Even if a walk-on doesn't make it the first time around, I've seen a number come out in the spring or at a later year and make it. Best of luck to you if you're going this route. Don't give up just because it's hard.
  3. 5 or 6 years? I can't quite remember. Weather was pretty terrible so that might have had something to do with it. I'm certainly glad to see more parity throughout the area.
  4. bleh. Is Cleveland's field doing any better? Last time i played there it was struggling. Wish it was closer! Good luck to both teams.
  5. Temple wins by 9. Does anyone have details?

    Hiko Walden

I had the pleasure of being ref'd by Hiko for atleast 7 years throughout highschool and club. I don't think there was a friendlier guy in town. He was always in a good mood, no matter the outcome of a game or how he was treated. A true staple for Chattanooga soccer that will be greatly missed.
  7. There were at least 2 d-1 players on those teams and several naia players, probably more of both. The head coach also coaches at d-1 akron now. Not bad company to be in as a superstar.
  8. from CSAS: Duncan Keegan- Hendrix College (Arkansas) Adam Wright- Emory University (Georgia)
  9. Where will the class of 2008 be continuing their soccer careers?
  10. As good as these two teams are, I hate going to Baylor-McCallie games for this reason. Both teams play not to lose. Intensity and heart are always present but the skill level diminishes greatly as compared to the majority of the other games these teams play. I guess the rivalry creates kind of an intense environment for players and coaches.

    Red Cards

Would you still feel that way if your starting sweeper was out for 2 games for trying to make a play on a breakaway that got away from him? It's silly to punish high school kids so severely for infractions that many of them probably don't fully understand. College and professional players in the US knowingly and willingly commit offenses like this and are rarely ever suspended for more than a game unless it was an unusually bad incident. So are we to say that the players who are more ignorant of the rules and far less experienced than players at a higher level are to be punished more severely for the same actions? That is completely counterintuitive.
  12. CSAS wins 59-55. Led 95% of game. Very good play by both teams.
  13. OK, I see. I thought GoVols was asking on behalf of another team. Thanks for the clarification!
  14. Why would you having a junior/senior trip affect the canadian team? Are you hosting them? Are they not still available?
  15. That stupid bug on your signature got me. I am ashamed.
  16. CSAS will definitely be experiencing a down year though they have some good players. CCS will probably be in a similar boat, though they certainly have an edge because they return all but two starters. Notre Dame should be the favorite to win by far.
  17. What was the score vs. East Ridge tonight?
  18. Maybe Dragoo was simply watching his alma mater and didn't have any hidden motives one way or another. Maybe this is just high school basketball and not really that big a deal.
  19. CSAS wins 76-50 with an excellent team effort all around. The game was close through the first half with Temple having the edge in the first quarter. CSAS led by a few going into the second half and just pulled away from there. Ultimately, CSAS's numbers were just too much for Temple. TTA is solid through their starting five but dropped way off after that while CSAS could still bring in players and not lose very much at all. A great game and a tremendous effort by both teams. I look forward to seeing them play again. Heisman watch: Sexton was the probably the best player on the court. I don't know how many he ended up with, but he was playing like a man out there. Fun to watch. Hampton, Cobb, and Townsend all played great as well.
