  1. Some of these games have been changed, unless there are two McMinn teams (as there may be). The schedule at Central has been changed as of today, but I only know the Brentwood schedule: Thursday 1:00 FRA vs. Brentwood at Central 3:45 McMinn County (?) vs. Brentwood at Central Friday 1:30 McMinn County vs. Brentwood at Central (game does not count in the standings, as this pool was left one team short) 4:00 Central vs. Brentwood at Central
  2. Overton vs. Antioch Franklin vs. Hunters Lane Smyrna vs. Clarksville Mt. Juliet vs. Rossview
  3. Heard that Ravenwood beat Franklin 6-5 in 8 innings. Askew pitched for Ravenwood, but not sure if he got the win. Don't know who pitched for Franklin.
  4. A lot of good points out there, but another point that needs to be addressed: there are teams with 3-6 records going to the playoffs and at least one team at 7-3 (Independence) that will not, simply because of the strength of the region they are in. Does this or any replacement system address that scenario?
  5. Speaking as a Brentwood fan, I didn't see this win as a "beat-down". While the Bruins always had a lead, it was never very comfortable until late in the game, and Shelton's blocked punt that lead to a touchdown was big in terms of breathing room. I was a little uncomfortable with that final touchdown--thought there should have been a way to kill the clock without adding another score that you didn't need, but I also know you can't, and probably shouldn't, take that scoring instinct out of your team.
  6. Regarding the Region standings, does it begin with region only records, or overall records? If it looks at Region play first, I think Brentwood, believe it or not, looks to finish either 3rd (ahead of Ravenwood) or 5th (behind Independence), depending upon next week's matchup with Indy. However, I'm not sure what happens if Dickson County were to lose to Franklin and Ravenwood in the next two weeks. As was stated before, in this region you can't count anybody out until week 10. I think it's possible that Independence could end the year at 7-3 and be left out of the playoffs, and that's sad considering that there are some regions whose 4th team will have losing seasons, but get a game in the playoffs. Just shows what a tough region we have.
  7. Thanks for all tips! I have heard of the newspaper thing for cleats, specifically soccer cleats, but didn't think about using it for the catcher gear. Also didn't know there was such a thing as Febreze for the washer. I will be looking for that!! Thanks!~
  8. I have a chest protector that is in good shape, except for the smell! It was worn during those hot days last July and hasn't been the same since. Is Febreze enough, or can it be washed (maybe take all the straps off and use the washing machine)? Anybody had to deal with this that can give some advice??
  9. The question is: Can Riverdale's pitching overcome Franklin's hitting? The Rebels are amazing with bats in their hands! Their pitching is not the strongest, but they manage to take away hits with their defense. Anyone that wants to beat Franklin has to put on a show at the plate, AND be able to hold down those bats. I know Riverdale has done alot this year, but I think the money has to be on Franklin, especially if the Warriors struggle with putting runs on the board.
  10. Franklin 8, Hunter's Lane 5 FINAL (Corban Joseph 2 HRs)
  11. Beech 4, Dickson Cty. 0, FINAL
  12. Riverdale 4, Columbia 3 FINAL (will face Blackman Wednesday) Farragut 1, Halls 0 (game decided in 7th, Catapano 9K's)
  13. Forrest 2, East Robertson 0 in 3rd (Minor 7 K's, Clinard hitting 86mph) Franklin 6, Hunter's Lane 5 in top of 4th
