  1. I know Antawn personally and I was wondering if they are playing Poplar Bluff in the tournament in Missouri. I saw Hansbrough this weekend and he had 28 points on 8-8 field goals and 12-15 FT's. I saw UC twice last year, and those guys play taller than what they are. I hope to see them play again.
  2. I like North Carolina I just thought he would be more dominant. I did not know he had that many. It was what they call a quiet 28 points. I did not say he did not impress me at all, I said not much considering UNC plays in the ACC. Willie Kemp had 36. Next week the Tigers are in Marshall County, Kentucky to face the Marshall Co. Marshals. By the way the word is ignorance.
  3. They Tigers lost to the Poplar Bluff Mules tonight by the score of 65-60. W. Kemp and Chism made the all tournament team. The North Carolina signee did not impress me too much, a guy from AR said he had players that matched up well with him in this game. I saw the second half of Jackson Lanier's game. Monta Ellis's 3 game average was around 46 points and I believe he had about 50 tonight. Chism and O. Kemp fouled out. I was proud the the guys hung in there with the Mules regardless of the officiating, even the Forrest City faithful were complaining. The outside shooting has not quite fully developed but it is coming along.
  4. Bolivar defeated Buffalo Island Central tonight by the score of 72-52. They finally got scoring from others besides Kemp, Kemp, and Chism. (Unofficial stats) W. Chism led the Tighers with 17 points and 12 rebounds. B. Robinson had 17 and 9 rebounds, K. Giles 14 (4-6 3pts), W. Kemp 11 pts. and 7 assists. They play tomorrow night @ 8:00 against the winner of Poplar Bluff, MO/ Forrest City, AR winner. Poplar Bluff has a North Carolina signee.
  5. Ridgeway 93 Northside 85. Go to commercialappeal.com and you can look at the box score.
  6. I searched the web and found that they are playing Buffalo Island Central (AR) today.
  7. Bolivar defeated Reserve Christian, LA this afternoon by the score of 66-54 in Forrest City, AR. The Tigers were led in scoring by(unofficial) W. Chism with 31 and 14 boards, O. Kemp with 15, and W. Kemp with 11. They play in the semis tomorrow.
  8. If Bolivar was an average basketball team would all of this really matter. They have won one state championship in boys basketball and you all are making a big deal out of this. It is the girls in Bolivar that had all of the tradition in the past. Until recently the boys have just started being a force. There is no need to add any more fire during a district or regional championship game against Fayette-Ware in that heated rivalry. A few years ago in Bolivar bottles flew on the court when a call went aginst the FW Wildcats. It's not a guarantee that they would ever make it back to state. They could be paired against Nashville's MLK for a substate game. They are a strong contender for the title this year and are well coached. Liberty benefits more than Bolivar because they are loaded with sophomores. Bolivar loses its best players in 2006. All the shelby county schools did not get grouped together and I don't hear them on here venting. Any admimistrator should look out for his/her school if he did as you claimed.
  9. I am an alum of BCHS. I very seldom go to away games. I generally listen to the radio. I'd rather they play in Memphis. The last few years the games were played on a neutral court. I'm sure the people from Bolivar would rather go the Memphis if they had a choice of possible substate games. Regular season games with Haywood and Fayette-Ware are always packed. Those would be big gates for districts and regionals if those teams would be fortunate to play against each other.
  10. Bolivar has always played in the district with Southside, McNairy, and Chester County when they played AA ball. This is pretty much the same district it was in the past before Liberty was built. In two years all of this will fade when Bolivar loses its best players. There are nine members on the board if I recall, so Kessler could not have made these decisions alone. Just think about the long drives to the regionals when they are played at Waverly.
  11. No, it was a four point game and Bolivar scored with about five seconds and Northside threw a long pass down court to run out the clock and end the game. The game was tight all the way the Indians built a 7 or 8 point lead and Bolivar built a 10 point lead in the third quarter.
  12. Northside 71 Bolivar 69. Willie Kemp led Bolivar with 21, Chism 18 and 14 rebounds, O. Kemp 16 points and 10 rebounds. Northside was led by Rieginald Delk 22 and Richard Delk had 10.
  13. Haywood still in the playoffs, so they may have had a few players out. I know when the regular season starts Haywood will be tough to handle. By the way, how is Portia Jarrett doing? How are the other Jackson teams looking this year?
  14. According to info I have. They are scheduled to play McGavock @ 8:00 on Nov. 17 and Northside @ 8:00 on Nov. 18. From a website I found out about the Marshall County Hoopfest it has them playing Marshall County @ 8:30 p.m. on Dec. 3. Oak Hill Academy and Jackson Lanier play after that. For the whole schedule go to a search engine and type in Marshall County Hoopfest. I hope this helps.
  15. At the football game Friday, they announced Bolivar's first two games will be against McGavock and Jackson Northside at the Hall of Fame Games in Bolivar. So Bolivar will know how they stack up early. I believe they announced the games for Nov. 16 & 17.
  16. As a Bolivar fan that watched Evans Friday night, If there is a QB in the west as good as he is I would like to see him. I mean Evans has great size and height. I think Lexington has a good chance at winning the region.
  17. Add the title Harris High School won in the sixties had and you can have 13.
  18. I think whoever wins the Southside/Haywood game has a breeze to the championship game because these, I feel are the two toughest teams in the lower bracker. Bolivar has a tough opener in Raleigh-Egypt. Good Luck to District 12AA.
  19. Hats off to Sycamore, coming from a Bolivar fan. I was really impressed with your team. They could have folded when they got down 14-3 early, in a hostile environment, but they came back and played hard. If we did not have the two Kemps tonight you guys would have beaten us. Good Luck next year!! I hope your fans had a pleasant time.
  20. I don't know how they will travel to Giles but I know when Bolivar played them at Southside, Bolivar's fans outnumbered them according the the newspaper. They may travel big to see what all the Tyler hype is about. They are very similar to Bolivar. They have a big guy in the middle and they are quick. I would not be surprised if the Hawks pulled the shocker.
  21. If Sycamore does not sell all of their tickets then you may still have luck. I was told that the tickets were sold out by 12. They went on sell at 9 yesterday morning. If you plan on coming, I advise you to come early. It will be a packed house.
  22. Bolivar won big. I was unable to attend the game but I was told they won by about 25 points. It looks as though the will play Southside for the fourth time.
  23. These two teams meet Monday night at Chester Co. at 6:30. Bolivar won the first three meetings but the last two were decided by 5 and 4 points. I hope Bolivar comes out ready to play. W. Kemp had a brace on his knee tonight. I hope he is OK. Can Bolivar defeat the Eagles for the fourth time?
