Don't forget, her older sister Ivy (main pitcher) was just an eighth grader last year when they finished 3rd in State. Look at USJ's baseball team this year for 8th grader contributions also. A good athlete, no matter the age, can contribute alot.
I'm doing neither. I merely stating that it is obvious Gant needs more than two days rest between starts. My sources at the game say he was not throwing hard at all. Arm Weary!!
After pitching Tuesdays opening round game, Minor was quoted in a Mid TN paper as saying he thought the umpiring was bad. Not a good thing to say starting a State Tourney, much less getting it quoted in the papers
Wow, both Coach Carey at USJ 3 years ago and now Coach Patterson leaving top notch programs to go into other line of work. Guess winning doesn't pay the bills after all. It is a shame that top notch coaches are not paid for their achievements and have to leave the jobs they love.
Look at the proof:
Class A: McKenzie & Huntington
Class AA: USJ & Covington
Class AAA: Bartlett & Collierville
Div II: CBHS & MUS
The West has 2 out of 4 teams in each division remaining. That speaks for itself, but I don't think anyone can deny that Tennessee has strong baseball programs spread out all across the entire state.
Tough loss for John Patterson today with all of the unearned runs. You Lexington fans tell him to hold his head high and hopefully he will get another shot. He deserves it. Good luck against Goodpasture.
Ha, the holding your breath part was just for hoping that it works. It would have to be a very quick game for me to hold my breath for 7 innings (more like a forfeit)
