  1. There is a very good chance that Adamsville will get the player back that broke his leg in the pre-season for the playoffs. He is a good player on offense and defense, so they will be even tougher in the playoffs.
  2. This had to be the best high school game of the week in West Tennessee. When you can beat Milan in football it is a great night for your school.
  3. TennesseeVol, I think all schools would like to pick players from three counties to play on their team. McNairy plays players that want to be Bobcats. When they graduate, most of them will live close to people they went to high school with and that is a big deal. No one going to high school in McNairy County will be playing football in 10 years. Who managed to set up the 'open zone' rule? An Adamsville man with enough pull to get it done. This year's Cardinals have two players that should be Bobcats starting for AHS. A few others from normal MCHS schools could start for the Bobcats. Our coach is in his first season. He will be the coach next year and has a winning record at the moment. Facts do not lie. Adamsville had only five winning seasons before 'open zone' was put in place and Tommy Browder left for Hardin County. http://www.tennprepdb.com/teamhomeseasons.aspx?Team1=Adamsville
  4. AHS friends, your school has to be the best attraction in McNairy County. Your top three tailbacks are transfers, your QB lives in Chester Co., your two top receivers are transfers. The buzz this week in the county is AHS is the lone public school with players from three different counties that are known about. Tim Thompson may be bringing in players from Memphis for you.
  5. The Bobcats have made progress this season. They could have folded against South Gibson when they got down 27-0, but they did not. If not for a fumble inside the SG five, the Bobcats could have gotten within one touchdown in the final minutes. MC does not have enough players to test Milan. If Wynn was healthy, they would have kept the game close.
  6. It is a respect thing between schools normally that they will not accept a student if they have dismissed from school for disciplinary reasons. The SEC has a rule they can't accept a transfer inside the conference that is not a graduate transfer. Do you ever see bad players transfer a week into the season? I imagine the TSSAA is going to search for a way around this problem. The TSSAA probably has a huge file on Adamsville because so many complaints are made about them. That does not mean they have cheated, but it does mean they are suspects.
  7. cardfan, I guess you skipped English class. McNairy may not win, but the Bobcats play by the rules. How many transfers do the Cardinals have on their team? Your top three tailbacks are all transfers. I guess they just happened to all decide to move to Adamsville.
  8. plum69, your school normally does not allow a student to enroll when he left the old school on bad terms. If this player had not been a star player, Chester Co. would not have accepted him. High school sports does not have the class it had only a few years ago. We will have a Signing Day soon to let the players choose where they want to play. No loyalty at all. How would you like to be the player that got his spot taken by a newcomer? If Dysart had not played last night, they would have lost to the woeful Bobcats.
  9. Adamsville better enjoy this one. I predict TCA will go to D2. There is less recruiting in the private schools than in public schools.
  10. 9oldschool5, McNairy's coach learned the system at Adamsville. He knows how to work in the shadows. I just know the school will not allow any student to be enrolled that has been booted from another school, athlete or not.
  11. McNairy Central does not take a player that has been kicked off their previous team. Can Chester County say that?
  12. They have the player that was at South Gibson.
  13. Chester Co. is the new Transfer High. Their best player in baseball was a transfer, second best player on the girls basketball team was a transfer, and now they have a big transfer in football. Interesting luck.
  14. BigEdMo, who do you root for in football?
  15. Travel Ball High, you need to start shaving those classification numbers. We would not want you to be put in a tougher region. It is ironic how the school always just manages to stay under the limit to move up in classification. If the new tailback's transfer is legitimate, why has the TSSAA not already made him eligible? They approved the Liberty player's transfer the same week. Could Hardin Co. have some proof that he was recruited to TBH? He did play in the spring with the Tigers. Hardin Co. is unhappy with the staff across the river.
  16. Chad Austin with Greg Martin still on the bench.
  17. Why would you ask teenagers who they want as a coach? They change their minds on a hourly basis. How many teens like their coach when they are making them run? You can tell something about the players when they play hard in a game. Does anyone doubt our boys have played hard late in the season? I am hopeful everyone will come back to play on both teams. Transferring is not what many players think. Ask the boy that lost most of his season at Adamsville. Check with the girl that rode the bench at Chester Co. Check with the other girl at Chester and see how much fun it is to have one player with the green light. I do not bash anyone for their opinion. This is America. I am not going to waste my time asking young people about their choice of coaches. I assure you they would not like the next coach either.
  18. TCAIntense is one of the smartest posters on CoachT. I'm always interested in his posts whether they are about basketball or football. He still loves MCHS as much as he did when he was a player. Brown is not a relative, but he can coach. If anyone would say they can't see the improvement in this team, they have on blinders. He left a better team at Hardin County to come back to MCHS. Dyersburg has one of the best school systems in West Tennessee. There are not many coaches/fathers that would not want their children in that system. When the season is finished, why don't you visit Coach Brown. You may not like his style, but you can't question about his passion for the school or the boys program.
  19. Coach Riley has won big at Selmer, but he is still fairly young. He is possibly the man for the future when Coach Brown retires.
  20. cwayne, I may have spoken too fast to call you a wise person. You ask for support for Coach Lott and then stab Coach Brown. I do not know where you coach, but Brown has won more games than any boys coach in our area, including Rudesill. If you coach in McNairy County (outside Adamsville), I would be careful about taking shots at coaches. Why would any SMS player not want to play at MCHS? We return all five starters and could contend for the district championship next year. How long has it been since we were a championship contender with the boys?
  21. cwayne28, you are a wise person. You brought good stuff to the page.
  22. I'm not a relative of any players or coaches. I just try to be objective in my thoughts. If you talked to him, how can he improve discipline? Coach K was criticized last year for being too old before his team won the national title. Age is just a number. He can coach. He just needs some shooters to come through that door. You and I need to agree to disagree and both support the Bobcats. I will be for the team regardless of the coach, but I hope it is him for a couple more years. Our county pay scale is so low that you would not get a good coach to come here. It would be like replacing Fulmer with Kiffin and Dooley. Not good.
  23. He has won when the game was played halfcourt. He has won when the game moved to fullcourt. He can adapt with any type of game. You complain about discipline. What would you want him to do differently? It is parents that do the most complaining. They are not the most impartial observers. They all want their child to be on the floor. Ask the other coaches in the district what they think of Coach Lott. Their opinions will differ from your opinion. The Chester Co. coach is in the district finals because Coach Lott does have discipline. Bolivar's coach won the district about four years ago because Coach Lott has discipline.
  24. I'm smart enough to know that he knows more than me about coaching. Will you admit the same? I think his granddaughter is mainly the third or fourth player off the bench. I disagree with his choices at times, but it is easy to coach from the stands. He practices with the team twice a day when they do not have games. I'm not there in the gym with him in the summer when they are working in 90 degree heat.
  25. Peyton is a player and not a coach. I do hope Peyton retires as a player. But what does Peyton have to do with McNairy Central? You are reaching. Let's admit the truth. Everyone knew this was going to be a down year. The team will be better next year because of the experience gained this season. MCHS will contend for the district title next year. If the team can improve their outside shooting, it could be a very good season.
