  1. What has happened to Scott's Hill Coach Woodmore? Some felt he was a candidate for McNairy.
  2. A problem could be issues between the Ayers' and the USJ administrator. He may not care as much as the coaches like. The Ayers' daughter is a star softball player. They will want to move to a program that has a strong softball program in addition to a strong basketball program.
  3. McNairy Central defeated Lexington to win the school's first-ever state championship. They won a low hurdles state title in 1987 with Fred Wyke. The school had finished state runner-up in the 2017 softball tournament when they had the lead on CAK going into the seventh inning. The basketball girls team finished second in the 1974 state basketball tournament. McNairy defeated Lexington in five of eight games this season. It was the most ever wins in one season against Lexington. Coach Mellanie Surratt was the coach of the Lady Bobcats.
  4. There will be a big game at McNairy on Thursday, May 4 with Summertown coming to face the Lady Bobcats. Summertown has won 27 games, second most in the state. They finished second in the state last year to Loretto. The move is smart by both coaches to get them ready against a tough non-district game. McNairy is in a four-team district with not much difference between the four teams. The Lady Bobcats record is 19-9. If you are looking for a game to watch Thursday this one should be worth driving to Selmer.
  5. Chester Co. is the best team in the district in 11-AAA, but they have lost their last two games of the season. Why have they lost to teams that are not as strong as them?
  6. Coach Stroup was never head coach at McNairy Central. He began career at Scotts Hill. He upset an undefeated Adamsville team and that helped get him the USJ job. His dad Cecil was a coaching legend at Walnut and Alcorn Central, both in N. Mississippi.
  7. How do you think a freshman get to school from Selmer to Reagan? If the handler is bringing them to school and that is likely against TSSAA rules. If Scotts Hill wins, their region opponents will be checking out this deal.
  8. When you get players from another county to move to your school there is likely some recruiting going on. The contact that helped the player swap from Selmer to Scotts Hill is now not allowed around the McNairy football team. Coach Woodmore learned well how to get players at AHS and then took one from his old boss.
  9. Anyone that feels Coach Mahaffey is not a good coach just has an axe to grind. When he gets a really talented player they transfer to Dyer County. Coach Mahaffey is a big winner at Dyersburg, but has not had good-luck in the post-season. He gets voted coach-of-the-year by his peers because they know how good a coach he is on the other side of them. He cares about his players and wants to make them better citizens after graduation.
  10. Two very good prospects for the job are Ken Bingham and Jill Forbes. Ken is well liked in Hardin County and Jill was a basketball star at Hardin County and Union.
  11. His posted on social media that morning he was not playing any more basketball. A college coach would have to look at a player hard that transferred from a rival school and then stopped playing on the day of the region final.
  12. Did anyone post the reason why Jason Hunt left Peabody just before the region finals? That would be a tough blow for his coach and teammates. High school sports are becoming just like AAU.
  13. It appears the teams hosting District 14-AA tournament games on Monday will charge full price for both games. The schools will clearly the gym between games, spray some Lysol, and then ask for a second ticket to get back in the gym. You will spend $14 for two first round district tournament games. To paraphrase Allen Iverson, "We're not talking about the semifinals or championship, we're talking the first round of the district tournament." Oh yes, the TSSAA will get their 18 percent cut of the game. I just wonder how many schools will do that on Monday to their loyal fans.
  14. 15. Is there a way to email them at the Tenn. Prep database?

  17. The man that can't coach has won almost 900 games at a 70 percent winning percentage. You are a true Bobcat.
  18. Khyla got 13 of her 21 points in the third quarter after she was put in the low post.
  19. You wrote that you were not taking a shot at Khyla Wade-Warren, but you attacked her character. If you had a daughter, would you want someone to say that about her?
  20. McNairy Central's Khyla Wade-Warren should be nominated for Class AA Miss Basketball. She is leading the state in scoring with a 26 point average. She has been all district for the past three seasons, all region, all state, and has scored over 1,800 career points. Khyla is the all-time leading scorer (5-on-5) at McNairy Central.
  21. The hope is the district and region can be played at Union. If not Union, it will be at Lexington. Let's hope it gets worked out to be played at Union.
  22. McNairy Central's Khyla Wade-Warren Signed with Texas Tech
  23. The Bobcats lost a close game to Covington last year in the state playoffs. Covington finished second in the state in Class 3A. Two out of 30 is a bit of a stretch. Come on, the Bobcats never shut their program down.
  24. Easy on the name calling. I hope the Cards win tonight.
  25. The teams had a battle in last year's playoffs and now will face each other in a berth in the state playoffs. Can McNairy's defense contain Covington's speed on offense and kickoff coverage? The Bobcats have averaged over 40 points a game, so Covington will have to work hard on defense as well.
