  1. Everybody knows what happened LAST YEAR. This year they played hard sound football. Lets leave our personal comments concerning a game that took place LAST YEAR alone. Your memories should be of you kissing that gold ball.
  2. You know I thought about that game. It was an important region game. I'll ask my son about the importance of the game at the time.
  3. Terrence had a career night and Huntingdon totally dominated that game. I am aware of those two records and noted the 6 interceptions. I have a separate section for TSSAA Championship records. I hope that you and others will want to chronicle their football history where others can find and enjoy. I would like to see more schools get involved with updating and enhancing their sites. They teach computers and IT but don't practice it.
  4. Remus....you are correct. All things historical on David Lipscomb Football can be found at The Mustangfanpage. Then click on the Football Chronicles.
  5. Just talked with him on the phone. He's leaving tomorrow. Had to give HIM a homework assignment.
  6. The return call has been made and have left you my number and email address on your voicemail.
  7. Portland needs to call Jay Gore at Brentwood High. He can also teach Math. Also has long resume.
  8. Please get the word to both schools administrators and staffs to make sure they get to the press box any historical information on their respective programs. There will be people in the press box who will be looking specifically for that information. Thanks

  13. If you have windows as your operating system, you should already have Windows Movie Maker. You might not have an icon on your desktop for it, so do a search in your programs and/or files to find it. Its a very simple and user friendly program already installed. I use it quite often. Its a cut and drag program which allows you to overlay audio tracks. It also has special effects and different types of fade. You can also overlay graphics and titles. It is all done on a timeline. You can also purchase online Real Player Director. I Have both programs but found the Movie Maker much easier to use.
  14. Brentwood Academy won the game 7-0 as to the confrontation...after the collar grabbing...just some jawing about being from Bordeaux. However, the linebacker's dad was twice the size of Flatt. The incident was reported by Tennessean and a small blurb was found in USA Today. In 1972, Flatt also had a post game confrontation with the Lipscomb Coach at the time, Buck Dozier. Lipscomb won that game.
  15. Thanks for the comments. Hoping more schools will want to provide historical information on their programs as well. I believe people are generally interested in the history of their respective schools and their opponents or past rivals. For more historical information on Tennessee High School Football be sure to visit HSFdatabase.com
  16. The compilation is now complete thru the 2008 season. Comments, additions and corrections are now being added. The list includes Lipscomb's affiliation with schools in the old Nashville Interscholastic League, Class A Football, Members of Class 2A, and Class 3A. Read about the good and the bad of games past. Some of the interesting stories included: 1970: Lipscomb coach in hospital sending phone messages to the sidelines during the game against Cohn High School. No cell phones in those days. 1975: A post game brawl with Joelton High School (Caught on Film) 1989: Brentwood Academy's Carlton Flatt's run in with a Lipscomb Dad (on the Chain Gang) during the game during Hurricane Hugo. 1995: Lightening Strikes at Union City High School 2000: When Time Stood Still at Marshall County 2000: Lipscomb back fumbles 6 times against White House 2002: Lipscomb scores for Sweetwater 2005: Lexington High School fans completely fills up Lipscomb's stadium an hour before kickoff.
  17. A subjective list has been created noting Games of Significance and Historical Value in the Lipscomb Football program since 1967 when the team and sport was re-instituted and posted on The Mustangfanpage. Prior to 1967, the last game the Mustangs played in was in 1938. You may want to check the list to see if you or possibly a family member played against Lipscomb in one of these games noted. Click Here for the Direct Link to the page.
  18. Got your message. Trying to reach you.
  19. I think last year it was only $7.00 a head. Each school's football program paid for their players. Its like a big food court where they eat at Lipscomb. Section for soups and salads, Section for Entre and vegetables for the day, section for pasta and pizza, and a fast order section which does burgers, fries, chicken nuggets and other stuff. Finally an area for drinks and desserts. No wonder they like coming over to the University.
  20. I imagine based on previous years, the banquet will be sometime after the first of the year. Creek Wood's Coach Daniel has been the ramrod of the event. The last two years it has been at Lipscomb University...The boys can eat all they want. So I guess it might return there this year as well.
  21. Note to Catholic staff and team: We started to notice from the Lipscomb Game with Mitchell in 2007 and then it really came to light this past Friday night. After Lipscomb big plays or series of big plays, A Mitchell player will go down with an injury on the field. He will stay there awhile and then head back over to their sideline and then will go back into the game. Can't say what the story actually is...a real injury or something to break the momentum of the opposing team. It happened 7 times this past Friday night. Everytime the player came back into the game very shortly after laying on the field for several minutes. With this being said, I'm still pulling for the Tigers.
  22. The Earth is round....U S Astronauts walked on the moon....and yes, I have a "WITNESS" I live with her. Talking about sour grapes? Why are you still here belittling folks you don't even know. Your team lost to Lipscomb and you are the one who is stirring the pot a week later. Life should have moved on for you. Giles County had a great season and played lights out against Lipscomb twice...no one has indicated anything different about that game. David Lipscomb, The Team, The fans, the students have a great respect for the Giles County program. For your information. I don't have a football player at Lipscomb. I am just a game day volunteer. Here are the facts. Someone from Mitchell took a sign that didn't belong to them and we would like to have it back...as it did not belong to the school. There are Mitchell Players who have been on the threads. Just trying to get word out to them. This sign has nothing to do with you, Coach O'Conner or the Giles County team. I believe your Coach should be the Region Coach of the year, as he is building a very good program. As I said in an earlier thread, if Giles County had beaten Lipscomb, I would have gone to Pulaski, eaten at the Hickory House, watched the game from the Giles County section and rooted for the Bobcats. Long story short..just like to get the sign back..
  23. I debated whether or not to even respond to your comments. Talking about eating sour grapes? As to cleaning up the mess..it will get cleaned up. We would still like to have our stuff back. I have made my comments already about the game and congratulated the Tigers. You will be able to read more on the Lizard Lounge page of the Mustangfanpage as it will be updated over the next couple of days.
  24. I will stand corrected and viewed as eating some Crow on this. I learned prior to the Lipscomb-Mitchell game from one of the Lipscomb coaches, that the Mustangs will play week zero next year. The opponent will be Page! I asked him why not Giles County as their fans would like to play us pretty bad. His response was we had a longer relationship with Page and it was closer for both schools to travel. I looked back to see how far this relationship went. Lipscomb played College Grove (an early school that turned into Page) back in 1974. Later we began to play the Official Page in 1987. The other non-district games for the Mustangs include: Greenbrier, Nashville Overton ( a neighborhood school) and Goodpasture. I personally would have enjoyed another visit to Pulaski and eaten my pregame meal at the Hickory House. Perhaps we'll cross paths in the playoffs next year.
  25. Congratulations to Mitchell. These are a different bunch of Tigers. They were more mature and discipline this year than in the years of past. They did everything their coaches asked of them. Good Luck to them in the Boro next week. There are no officiating excuses for the Mustang loss. However there was one play on the last scoring Mitchell drive in regulation where two flags were thrown. One for crossing the line of scrimmage and the other a defensive pass interference in the end zone. Officials picked up the crossing the line flag and penalized the Mustangs for the interference. However, the replay in the booth showed the Mitchell QB was 3-4 yards beyond the line of scrimmage when he threw the ball. I watched the replay along with the Lipscomb radio crew. No doubt. Don't know why they didn't let the penalty stand. That will be my only comment for the game in regard to officiating. Please send this word to the Mitchell Team and fans. We understand you were exciting about coming to Nashville and getting revenge for beating Lipscomb and getting the chance to play for the State Title but there are a couple of things that we would like back: 1. A Mitchell team member or fan was seen taking down the Lipscomb Sports Network sign off the home side fence. We would like to have that back. It was the property of an individual and not the school, 2. The D L letters that was also at the fence was also taken and they were borrowed from someone not from the school. We hope that the Coach or the school administrators will look into this and help us get these items back. As I said, they were not the property of the school but private individuals. As the Mitchell Coaches teach discipline to the team on the field and during the game, they should also teach not to trash the visiting locker room as well. I know they were exciting, but an extra effort was put in by the team of seeing how much of a mess they could make. Good Luck again to the Tigers and represent the west side of the state well against Knox. Catholic from the east.
