  1. maryville will score as much as they want in the first half. and then continue to develop their six QB rotation in the second half. MHS 42 Powell 7
  2. i know this will be a close game and equally important for both teams. farragut has been runner-ups or tied for second place the last 3 years and are hungry for a championship. mcminn has good talent and cannot go 0-2 in the region if they want to make a strong push for playoff contention
  3. i dont think farragut will run away with this one because bearden is a really good team. i still think the admirals will win because they know what it takes to win this game. admirals 31 dawgs 24
  4. you mean the RIVERDALE REGION don't you
  5. i dont usually make a prediction 11 days before the game but both teams are off this week. this game is being played at WB which should give them a slight edge, but i think the owls pull it out by less than a TD
  6. riverdale is the only team from region 4 that is consistently good. you say OR over the warriors in '05 was a fluke, but smyrna last year was THE fluke. riverdale should have played in the semis, they were just complacent bc they already beat smyrna 49-0 in the first game. the top 4 from region 2 are stronger than the top 4 in the RIVERDALE REGION
  7. no cause 2-5A IS that good. all four deserve to be in the top 10 of any poll
  8. yea mcfall is a great TB for the pats. he gives them a chance to win some ballgames this year and compete for a playoff spot
  9. dont forget how tough heritage has played farragut recently. fhs won 7-6 in '04, and '05 was a sloppy 26-0 win by the admirals mainly bc heritage played pretty well but didnt have much of an offense, and last year it wasnt until the second half that the admirals pulled away with a 44-15 win. those three years farragut made to the second round and twice to the 3rd round of the playoffs. so heritage showed that they could compete with some good admiral teams. i think farragut should win this one but i dont think it will be 5 TD blowout by halftime like some are saying
  10. yea i have to agree with sterling at runningback, at receiver if we were talkin all of east TN, i would say the combo of douglas, shiver, and clendenen at maryville to be by far the best. however havent really heard of any receivers making too much noise in 5A in regions 1-2
  11. i totally agree with u. i think the region as a whole has dropped with the exception of course to maryville, even though they have question marks on their defense as well
  12. your welcome...he had 1,171 as a soph and 2,200 as a junior. i do believe though that he has the TD record already
  13. bearden really has the makings to be the top dawg in 1-5A this year. they have a tough defense that has only allowed 14 points in the first two weeks. their offense is solid led by halliday at QB and works at RB. they also have reliable receivers in eicholtz, williamson, and english. and most importantly they are experienced, they have 20 seniors starting. BHS 24 DB 10
  14. Owls 35 McMinn 14. i'm interested to see if ooltewah can play up to the hype they're receiving this year and if the 'kees can continue to re-establish itself as a playoff contender
  15. south-doyle is greatly improved this year but i think west's athletes will take over and the rebs will run away with this one in the 2nd half. look out though, this is not a gimme.
  16. he's still about 900-1,000 yards away. hunter rigsby had approx. 4,500 from 96-98. but he will definitely break the record, he has 386 in two games with 6 td.
  17. wilson didnt even play tonite nor was he even suited up and show some class or something, farragut was supposed to win this game
  18. this thread didnt really take off but i'll say farragut 28 central 14
  19. this is a tough one to call. west clearly has the advantage with athletes but bearden is stronger and well-coached. west can score quickly with ryan as we saw last week but bearden has a short, ball-control passing game that can keep the ball out of ryan's hands. i think bearden has the better overall defense so i think they'll win a close one. BHS - 28 WHS - 24
  20. i think farragut played great in the first half last week but then seemed to get complacent in the 3rd quarter. they cant do that again versus central. sounds like the bobcats did the same against cookeville in the 4th. i think if farragut can force turnovers again that they have a good chance of winning by 14+. they do need to sure up their special teams because central returned the second half kickoff in last years game for like 70 yards and went in to score and kinda deflated the admirals after that. i know they have more depth than central so that could play a huge role as well. im sure the players want to get some revenge after last year and i know that theyll be fired up to play. ill predict a score later in the week after i have more time to think about it
  21. the reason why they had sterling as the sole running back in the backfield is because the TE/FB derek harper was banged up in practice and didnt play. when he's available, farragut will run a majority of their formations with harper, sterling and three wideouts in the game. sometimes harper is lined up at TE and others he's in the backfield. the only other option at fullback was micah devan who's played there before, but he also starts at MLB. it was the coaches' decision to have him concentrate on defense last night because west is so explosive and then bring him in if they needed him in certain situations.
  22. catholic over mo west is not an upset this year. ive seen both of these teams play in the preseason and i predict catholic by 3+ TDs
