  1. ruse? i dont really recall wagner having as stellar performance against alcoa as you describe. i remember alcoa blitzing and shutting fulton down until wagner made a little dump pass to rogan on a screen. still in the second half alcoa was still shutting fulton down until rogan busted a long run. case in point i remember dennis rogan being the stellar player in the game and hardly recall wagner doing anything with his feet. not saying that he's not a good athlete or qb, but just that it seemed to me that you hyped him up too much about the alcoa game last year
  2. actually forget what i said before. the harril kid was deemed ineligible today by the TSSAA as opposed to what i said earlier. i feel sorry for the kid because he's a good player but won't be allowed to play anywhere his senior year. he is a great kid with a good attitude so i wish him the best
  3. i dont think the loss of ryan for one half is that big of a deal because wagner has started and played significantly at the qb position in the past. and its not like he's been trying to learn the offense in 5 days since he's been the #2 qb all of preseason. but i think it does give farragut a little more of an advantage because wagner has shown great ability at rec.
  4. thats correct 66 is a tough ball player. the harrill kid is a good lineman and valuable transfer but is still new to the system and just got the nod from the TSSAA to be eligible this year as a senior. havent heard any big schools offering him yet though
  5. no i heard from his mouth that the BIG RED-headed fella has committed to the gators and will enroll in january
  6. what happened in the scheduling is that both teams needed a home game this year to make 5 home and 5 away. since one team had to make the sacrifice because both coaches wanted to play this game the decision was made based on which administration signed the contract first and west signed it first. so farragut will have 4 home games in 07 and have 6 home games in 08. west will have 5 and 5 through the next two years. this is not the first time that a team has played less than 5 home games. and even this year ooltewah only has 9 regular season games on its schedule. and as far as the hardin valley thing..not much will be different. karns will be the most affected by numbers. farragut is expected to drop to 2100 when it opens but then bc it is growing so fast, they predict it will be right back where it is now within 5 years after hardin valley
  7. well farragut doesnt average 275 on the line this year but they will be quicker and have better lateral speed than last year. their d-line will be a lot quicker than last year too.
  8. 20 days away now until the first ballgame of 2007, let's hear it
  9. Official pairings: The games began at 7:00 pm at Central (thurs, aug. 16) and farragut (friday, aug 17). Central: Kings Academy v. TSD Austin-East v. Halls Halftime Activities Grace Christian v. Gibbs Central v. Carter Farragut: Powell v. CAK Webb v. Karns Fulton v. West Halftime Activities Catholic v. Bearden Farragut v. South-Doyle
  10. i think maryville would gladly play fulton...and put a beatin on them
  11. that was actually '01 when bearden won 49-42 in 2 OT
  12. the last few years not much has been expected out of bearden and while every game was close, farragut on paper was supposed to blow them away. in 04 bearden was 0-2 and been outscored like 80-6 or something, and farragut was 3-0 and had given up only 20 points but the game was a one-score nailbiter until miller broke the punt return late in the fourth qtr. but its never built up as a game between two powerhouses early in the season because well neither are powerhouses until they consecutively stay on top of their respective regions. but if there was ever a year to broadcast the farragut/bearden game it is this year. bearden is predicted by many to win their region and farragut is slated to finish in the top two of theirs. so for the first time in about ten years these two are both potential late-round playoff contenders. should be a great game this year at bearden.
  13. this schedule is a lot more balanced than last year when it seemed like catholic and fulton were playing every week...and whoever does the wmak games does good work because they carry the broadcast into the playoffs
  14. i think whoever started this topic got confused and switched it around. farragut's qb from last year michael lawrence is going to maryville college to play and he's 6'4.
  15. the games will be august 16 and 17 (thursday and friday). most of the teams from the east side will play at central on thursday, and west knox teams will play friday at farragut. the start times are at 6 or 7, and each site will have their own halftime competitions. not exactly sure on lineup or matchups but i've seen the list so i'll go by what i can remember. CENTRAL: central, halls, a-e, carter, gibbs, kings academy, tsd, s-d FARRAGUT: farragut, powell, catholic, webb, bearden, fulton, karns, west, cak obviously there is a team missing but they always bring in a non-KFL team to make it even, i think cosby has played a few years in a row now. i know this may not help much, but once i know for sure i'll post the matchups on here. again some of these teams may not be correct.
  16. who does maryville have this year to run the ball? theyve had some really good high school backs the last 7 years: brock, stewart, mccord, byner, tallent, baker...who's next in line?
  17. you're right i DO know everything. i have huge muscles and i'm the best thing that farragut has ever seen. wow you're quick to judge and like you said at the end you don't even know who i am. but it doesnt matter cause all im trying to do is keep up with my program that i played for and everytime i gotta read your saturday-morning-qb opinions but you don't care anymore because you've graduated and are moving to potato-land. back to the subject at hand. west is real FAST, and ryan can sling it. farragut cant forget about the undersized rb (clabough i think is his name) cause he is quick. they have the speed to catch sterling but he has shown from experience that he will pound out 5-6 yards at a time. i think this game will be high scoring but the admirals prevail in the 4th qtr.
  18. best post so far. how do you rank academics?
  19. that just proves my point that you dont know anything about the program if the only thing you think players get out of playing is an ego. most of the guys go through it as a humbling experience but you wouldnt know that would you. an no i didnt bet on boise and no ive not been bitter about it bc i dont oklahoma either, but they couldnt even beat the '98 tulane team and definitely could not beat the TCU team with tomlinson
  20. nofriendzz, this is not a soccer thread and its apparent that you have a true lack of knowledge about the football program. you're one of the kids who doesnt really know what its like to play football but still pay attention to the rumors that go on in the commons. on a side note boise state is the worst undefeated football team in ncaa history
  21. i think OR will be once again competing for the championship. they have the talent there and a program like theirs does not stay down for long.
  22. if you're comparing farragut to riverdale i'll tell that riverdale has had 10 times better athletes and more athletes in their run the last 15 years than farragut has ever had. farragut may have high enrollment but they're not all D-1 material walking in the hallways. the '04 riverdale team may be the best team this state has EVER seen.
  23. rebel i heard in the other thread that west didnt play much defense all tournament. whats that about?
