How do you know it wasn't a can of beef jerky dip? Obviously you didn't see the can because you don't knoe if it was Skoal or Copenhagen. How do we know he wasn't doing the honorable thing and dipping beef jerky to help his craving until after the game. I will say this if Rankin goes to Cleveland and they still have athletes like they once had then Maryville will be challenged as to is the True beast of the East. Maybe Rankin looks at it as if Maryville won't move up to play him then he will move down to play them. Probably not true but makes one heck of a Drama.

Just a little update on the injuries Page was without an O-Line starter and in the 2nd quarter their Right Tackle tore or did something to his shoulder. As a matter of fact yes. Last year Crockett beat Page straight up. It was an incredible game. I thought both teams played well and the officials called a fair game. Friday night was not called as fairly however.

Yes they were from West Tennessee. This was a concern for the Page coaching staff all week. I spoke with a couple of them Wednesday and they were not happy with TSSAA allowing a west Tennessee crew to come work a game that included a West Tennessee team. Call Carter and ask but I know they were. Good luck the rest of the season. Crockett players and coaches were a classy group from what I have been told. To bad the officiating couldn't have some of that class. As for next year look for me to be supporting the Eagles of Independence. As I will have closer ties there.

I am not the one to get on here and make excuses. Crockett won and congrats to them. When Greenbrier, Marion, and Ravenwood beat Page never did I make an excuse. But there is one question that I would like answered. How in the world did a game being played at Page against a west Tennessee team get West Tennessee officials? I will give you all some fact. Page had more holding penalties Friday night than they had all season long (7). Page had 13 penalties to 4 for Crockett. Page wears wrist bands on their fore arms that the refs made a big deal about before the game. Which is fine but let Crockett players play with Jerseys hanging out all game. (these things effect 16-17 year old kids.) Page had a touchdown and a long run called back. How can a staff of officials call 7 holding penalties on one team but not one, zero against the other. I may be wrong on this but isn't a pass interference call an automatic first down? Well not with this crew. Those are rediculous facts. And I will say this. Crockett will get their butts handed to them by Greenbrier or Marshall. They did not deserve to be on the same field as Page but Page played down to their competition. I don't think Page ever recovered from a disheartening lose to Greenbrier

From what I hear Gregory has been having some physical problems. Maybe he feels that it is time for a change. I hope that he wouldn't hire from within his own staff though.

I am hearing lots of rumors floating around. Could this be it for Gregory and his staff? Could they be after a coach from another school in the county?

This was supposed to be the year. All of those Seniors. Preseason top 10 in the state. Break away backs and huge line. Speed every where. Experience. Well what in the world Happened? What is next for this struggling program? In no way trying to bash CHS. Great school with great kids and great parental support.

I said the voting thing because people were seeming to be confused as to how to vote etc. I was just letting everyone know that Head coaches and media actually vote for the awadr. I said in another post that Herndan and McMurray are so similar that it is scary. Both seem to be great young men and deserving.

Bulldogs chillout man. We usually agree on most points but I don't understand why you are being so harsh to Crockett Co. We don't need all this trash talking at Page and remember you represent PAge. Crockett has at least treated our boys good the last 2 times down. To all Crockett fans I can promise you will be treated top notch at Page this week. AAA Page High School Josh McMurray Running Back 188- almost 1500 yards and 19 touchdowns

I agree that whoever gets it deserves it. It is just a matter of opinion. I thought that there is a different award for Defensive player. Is that wrong?

Uwake just a little correction on the stats. Josh had 19 carries against Sycamore and 19 against Montgomery Co. That would put him at 67 carries and again more yards. Against Marshall McMurray didn't play the secon and most of the 3rd because of injury. Page as well have played some good teams. Ravenwood, allowed 2-100 yard rushers this year Centennial's RB and McMurray. I am not belittling Herndon. He is a great back. But you all are the one's that said he is in a class by himself. I think that McMurray and Herndon are so much alike it is scary. Again both players deserve the award but I guess we will have to see what the coaches around Tennessee think.

Herdon does have the better supporting cast. Herndon is also a senior playing on a team full of seniors. Which makes a huge difference. Herdon is a good back but not as good as all the Greenbrier people make him sound. Like I said in a earlier post everyone from Greenbrier pushes Herndon and the other players get no PUB. If it wasn't for #40 and #2 blocking for him then he couldn't get it done. Not to mention his incredible offensive line. Page is playing with 3 new starters up front. Their starting fullback was out the first 6 games. Their starting guard went down in preseason for the year. Stats are stats and the fact is McMurray has more yards on fewer carries. Someone said that "what they mean to the team" should be in consideration. Well Greenbrier would still be a very good team without Herndon. #2 could carry the ball and be very successful. There QB could take more of the role. Can you say the same about Page? I don't know but I do know they don't have a QB that can help them. Then academics was mentioned. Well Mcmurray has never recieved anything below an A in all honors level classes. His GPA is above 4.0. And you keep talking 78 on one carry. Well did Herndon ever bust lose. Most of herndon's yardage is on big plays. He has been shut down by good defenses and then exploded against weak Defenses. McMurray has been consistent against good and bad defenses which is what a Mr. Football should do. Both players are very good and deserving but to say Herndon is in a class by himself is absolutely rediculous. Remember Herndon's doing this as a senior while McMurray is doing it as a Junior. As most thing do it will come down to politics. And please quit saying that your vote will go to so and so because I think only Head coaches in the state actually get to vote.

Josh McMurray has more yards on fewer carries. He has only been held under 100 yards once and in that game he had 95. His stats are better than that of Herndon. I believe Mr. Football Back honors only takes into account the yards on offense not his return yards. That is a different honor. Both players are deserving of such an honor. I also think that Herdons yards include his return yards. Is that number rushing yards or all around yards? On top of McMurrays yards he has had to share carries with Patton. Congarts Greenbrier on a very good game. Also to Marshall for such a great effort. You guys up in Greenbrier are truly amazing. The way the town gets behind the bobcats is what football is all about. Congrats on the region championship. By the way Fatcat thanks for the kind words on the other thread about our victory. I would like to correct you on one thing though. This is way down the road. you were happy that we one becuase that means if Page and Greenbrier get to 3rd round then it would be at Greenbrier instead of out West. Well it would actually be at Page. The 3rd round of the playoffs is always predetermined. Like last year Greenbrier was at home for the entire playoffs this year it goes to the 1 seed in region 6 the lower bracket in other words. So whoever comes out of the lower bracket host the third round. If Marshall being the 3 seed beats region 6 2nd and then wins 2nd round game versus winner of Page and region 6 3rd seed then Marshall would host playoffs in 3rd round against you all. Confusing I know but just how it works. Hope the QB gets well soon. May the Lords grace be with him!

For the past 3 years all youi have heard about from Greenbrier fans is Herndon this and Herndon that. He is a great player don't get me wrong but #2 and #40 are pretty darn good to and I could name some more. Last year their Middle Linebacker Dickerson? I believe was a stud as well, but these players don't seem to get mentioned by the coaches or anyone that puts players names out to the media. They seem so infactuated with Herndon that the other players kind of get the shaft. Williams is a great coach but seems like he could push his players to the papers and other region coaches a little more. Again just an opinion from an outsider

This is a scary thought but anything is possible when dealing with the T$$AA. If you go to the mapping help and choose the option of 3A and then Nashville area it pulls up a Map with 10 Nashville area teams. It could be possible that they create one big 3A nashville region. I think the teams were: Page Lipscomb Pearl Greenbreir Dekalb Montgomery White House Sycamore Cheatham Station Camp I would hope they wouldn't do this but never know

i don't see how you can seperate WhiteHouse, Greenbrier, Station Camp, Sycamore, Cheatham Co. and Montgomery Central. they are so close to each other and the rivalries will be great. Keep these together throw in Lipscomb and LA That would give each region 8 teams. The other region would be Page, Marshall, Giles, Pearl Cohn, Spring Hill, Creekwood, Dekalb, and Macon. Either way no one is going to want Lipscomb in their region.

Coacht and ELA, Could you all take a look at 3A specifically middle Tennessee and see what you all think the regions will be. There are a total of 16 possible teams. Does rivalry play into this at all?

MCtiger I can see why you think that Marshall had more play makers than Page. But what you do not know is that Page played that game without 3 starters. Their best defensive pash rusher and play maker Leach didn't even suit up. Maxwell there other starting end was hurt and only came back 2 weeks ago. He is also an unbelievable FB. And they were also missing Lankford at strong safety. So Page was missing 2 pass rushers and had to play sophomores at that position and there free safety. And you all are a pssing team. You keep hollering 4 turnovers well Page had 3 of their own. And gave up a touchdown on a fake field goal in which his knee was down. The difference in the game was Page's line whipped you all up and down the field. And Greenbrier has an even more dominate line than Page. Marshall was 5 weeks ago so instead of getting on here making excuses why you all lost how about preparing for Greenbrier. Prediction? Greenbrier BIG
