  1. No committment for awhile. He's going to take official visits at Notre Dame and Tennessee. Could be after the 2006 season ends in December. More focus now on the current Mustang season. MUSTANG PRIDE
  2. When the O line was doing well, the stangs did well. Both 1st O & D will look at films, learn from their mistakes, build upon the good things, add a few more wrinkles to the game plans, and go visit Obion County this coming Friday. The potential for this year are very good, but as Coach Pritchard quotes, "Potential means you haven't done anything yet." Many of us are looking forward to what the 2006 Mustangs will do this year. MUSTANG PRIDE
  3. We will live or die by the lines, O & D. If they are on like they can be HHS will be hard to handle. I hope the opposing teams try to use 10 players against Chris to block him or 11 to tackle him. Yes, we have a nuclear weapon in our WMD arsenal, but we've got several others to choose from as well. We should have excellent speed in the DBs again this year. MR. MUSTANG, you been to practice yet? MUSTANG PRIDE
  4. His dad is going with him to visit South Bend in the next couple of weeks. He was in Knoxville this past weekend for a visit. We are hoping for an announcement before two a days start. It is now less than eight weeks before the Huntingdon Quarterback Club Jamboree kicks off. Hard to believe it will be his last. Go Stangs
  5. We need Milan listed for the Region to be complete, can't forget the fellows in purple.
  6. UT of course, Ole Miss, Miss State, Stanford and Michigan are some of the recent visitors to their newest best friend coach Mansfield prior to school getting out. Notre Dame offered a scholarship already. Fulmer has made a couple of recent visits just to check and make sure Mike is feeling ok. It is just wonderful how concerned everyone has been to make sure their friendships were secure. One rumor has that the Irish Defensive Coordinator has said Chris is the best in all of the states he recruits. Go Stangs
  7. I think it comes out in the coming Sunday edition. What a Christmas present.
  8. Fulmer and Trooper Taylor flew in Monday morning and flew out after lunch. Austin Peay was there as well. Fulmer got the most attention and request for pictures. He never spoke to Chris but they talked with Coach Mansfield for a long time. Reports are Fulmer was very personable and very open with everyone that spoke to him. Very much like he was back before and during the time of the National Championship. I'm intrigued that Taylor was present and that they are considering him as a running back. I've liked his look and abilities as a linebacker or if he grows more a defensive end. But, you know, next year we may see just how good he could be as a full time running back in our backfield with a very seasoned offensive line. MUSTANG PRIDE
  9. Congratulations to Boo. The Huntingdon fans are so proud of you not only for your work on the field but also how you have carried yourself off the field. I look forward to watching your maturity continue. And congratulations to Mom and Dad also. They are the main reason Boo is who he is.
  10. Goodpasture appears to be one tough team. I looked through through the Tennessean records and saw where they are a strong running team. If we leave their offense on the field too long it could be a painful experience. They will eat the clock up. The Mustang front four are going to have to stand their ground and go heel depth and clog the middle up. The linebackers can cover the top and the sides. It would be enjoyable to force a running team to try to pass against our DB's. Which side do you throw to? Left, right, or middle? I do think a four quarter game is ahead of the Mustangs. The Cougars have scored quite a bit in the fourth quarter against other teams. You know this is just the kind of game the Mustangs really love to play. I can already hear Mr. Mustang hollaring "pound 'em." Remember, always remember, WE WILL ALWAYS BELIEVE IN MUSTANG PRIDE
  11. Probably can't get tickets in until Wednesday. We didn't have tickets available for the Carver game until Thursday. School being out for Thanksgiving prevents the availability more than likely. Just another reason to get to Madison early for a short ticket line and a good seat. MUSTANG PRIDE WE WILL ALWAYS BELIEVE
  12. Good luck to the Union City Tornadoes against JB. Represent West TN well. Folks from Huntingdon are behind you. We've knocked heads many times in the past. MUSTANG PRIDE
  13. Mr. V, always remember that your photography is much appreciated by many. I expect to see you on the sidelines in Madison taking more pictures to fill up our hard drives at home.
  14. It doesn't matter whether you live in Bagdad, Cairo, NYC, LA, Memphis, Nashville, Jackson and yes, Huntingdon. There are going to be bad people that live in these places that do bad things. We can either cower away our lives or go on with our lives. It is important to always be alert to our surroundings and what's going on at all times. Don't go anywhere by yourself and stay with a crowd. The dangerous part of the trip will be while traveling down the road in our cars, not while we are parked watching the ball game. And oh yeah, I am so proud of Chris and Boo for making Mr. Football Finalist. CONGRATULATIONS to them and to their team mates who made it possible.
  15. Congratulations to all of the finalists selected. I'm also very proud of the FOUR young men chosen from Carroll County. All four very deserving for their efforts.
  16. Looks like the work of Chris Lash and the AM Radio station WDAP. Great job.
  17. I was glad to hear the Stangs will have lunch at the Church of Christ. Bro. Dan can provide them the finer points in snake handling.
  18. If Cheatham County lives and dies by the run it could be a long night for the Cubbies. The Mustangs o-line couldn't open a hole big enough for Boo Weathers or Chris Donald to run through very much. The nose guard looked like Godzilla going through Toyko throwing lineman everywhere. We set a record for passing touchdowns the night we played. The Crusaders were one of the most physical teams Huntingdon has played all year. Good luck to both teams and I hope injuries stay away. I'll pick Liberty to win by a TD. MUSTANG PRIDE
  19. I wish the Mustangs and the Coaching staff the very best for tomorrow night. I believe the Coaches will work very hard to keep the players' heads in the game and not start that freelance mess again. I hope the lesson was learned at GC. The defense is very capable both first and second strings to gain a scoreless game for themselves. Drew Hayes as a senior is better than anyone else we have played as far as a throwing QB. I believe the passing game for USJ can be completely shut down just like McKenzie's was. I don't think the USJ running game will have much success running outside against our outside LBs. Cedric, Tony, and Logan will clog the middle. And the Williams brothers will be tough. The only thing to truly stop the Mustangs offense will be the Mustang offense. The next three weeks are critical to hone the skills and work on game time technique. I believe we will see a Mustang team continue to improve on THEIR GAME over the next 3 weeks and we will be prepared to continue into the playoffs through week 15. Weeks 2-5 will be tough and even non-existent if the Mustangs don't play the game the Coaches have taught and prepared them to play. I BELIEVE
  20. Can Henry County pass? Liberty has one of the best rushing defenses playing this year. The passing scheme though is very vulnerable. If Henry County lives and dies by a running game, the Patriots may be in for a very long night. The Crusader nose guard looks like Godzilla rampaging through Toyko on some plays.
  21. I heard Boo would have played second half against Liberty if needed. They chose to protect him and give Matt, the "other" Weathers time at tailback. Man, did he hit and get hit. And he kept bouncing right back. Another HHS sophomore that could start in most other backfields. I've been told they are going to heavily tape Boo's ankles against Dresden. This slows him down considerably. We might be able to actually see him run this week.
  22. A motto in Huntingdon states "tradition never graduates." Life will go on after Boo and Chris. There is a younger Weathers who can keep up with his cousin. I watched a young man last night named Simpson, an eighth grader, who can make some noise. And there is another Wallace in the pipeline, a seventh grader, who will be fun to watch. MUSTANG PRIDE
  23. How do you see the 7-2A war between Huntingdon and Martin Westview?
  24. Some rookie mistakes were made but not truly that many. I was most pleased to watch the Williams brothers. They played offensive guards and then defensive ends all night long. Cramps in the fourth quarter was the only problem. They bounced right back out and played very well. Some of the second stringers really played well and gave us more depth at the line positions. The rotation worked pretty well. They also weren't really winded as the night went on. Good conditioning showed. Last detail to consider is yes Westview has a much more experienced line but will they have the depth to play 48 minutes. I like our stable of running backs versus one Guy. MUSTANG PRIDE
