  1. The game played againist D'burg yesterday was a 9th-10th grade game. I heard D'burg had JRs and SRs dressed out and playing but that was not what was agreed on from the coaches aftering speaking with DC coaches. I believe DC had one of the kids whos a sophmore and inelgible play but that was legal. DC dressed and played all 9th-10th graders like it was suppose to be.
  2. Yea, but DC had a 10 point lead with about 2 mins to go in the game and Charles Holt lived at the foul line. Justin Blake threw a really bad pass late in the game which hurt but overall he was clearly the choctaws best player along with #32.
  3. Two state powers with University Heights Academy (Kentucky) and Clarksville play every year but this year will feature 3 D1s and a host of other collegiate players. Clarksville absolutely blasted them last year with Caldwell having his way.
  4. Yes, I think he was contaplating making that move but after getting a new coach I believe he wanted to stay and make something happen there. Of course Clarksville has been linked to several of the areas top players moving which I think goes with the territory when you make it to the state tournament and have someone like Tyrone Caldwell coming back. Everyone wants to win and play with good players especially when your PG has been known to give the ball up.
  5. They're not being overlooked..They are a extremely well coached team..However, that style of play doesnt bother teams when you have time to prepare for a 1-3-1, slow down pace. Especially when you play eac other 3 times sometimes 4. But it could give that other district trouble if they havent had the time to prepare for it.
  6. Gallatin is head and shoulders above the rest of this region..After that then you can probably go with Clarksville, Rossview, Wilson Central, and Lavergne. But this Gallatin team gave Clarksville all they wanted last year in three games..
  7. Well the only thing I would dispute with my rankings are the 4 and 5 spots which are always toss ups. But with rossview changing coaches, new philosphy and everybody significant player from last years team that lost in the first round of the region being back then you should expect them to do well. They probably have the tallest and biggest front line in the district with NE a close second. I think anytime you lose as much as springfield did then its logical to be ranked last. They won alot of games the last two years including the district tournament championship. But its time to rebuild. Kenwood has talent but they dont have what it takes IMO to beat the Clarksvilles, Dicksons, Henrys of the league. Top players are: 1.Tyrone Caldwell, Lavonte Henderson, Adam Barnes-Clarksville 2.Rayshawn Walker, Telvin James, Jamarious Alderson-Northeast 3. Jon Primm-Dickson Co 4. Zamarious McClendon, Marquise Rudolph-Northwest 5. Darious Radford, Micheal Anderson, Denarious Smith-Kenwood 6. Corey Stanton-Springfield 7. Darius Ingram, Donnell Brown, Jonathan Williams-Rossview 8. Not sure who Henry Co has but I remember them having a few good shooters and a post guy who was tough.
  8. I'm thinking Gallatin all the way!! This team is absolutely loaded.
  9. My favorite district to write about because I'm most familiar with this league. Obviously gotta go with Clarksville. They return their 3 starters off a team that lost in the state championship game including their best player in Tyrone Caldwell(who has been nominated for McDonals All American Status and front runner for AAA mr.Basketball). However losing three seniors in Merriweather, Harper, and Dowlen are extremely big just remember tradition never graduates. These kids know how to win, the program has always won. But you gotta love Caldwell, just because of what he brings to the table. Overall a big time competitor and winner. I think Northeast will finally break through. They've had talent but consistency has hurt them the past two years. Northwest has the talent but will they adapt to the new coach? Henry Co will be in the mix along with always tough Dickson Co. Here is my predicted order of finish.. 1.Clarksville 2. Rossview 3.Clarksville-Northeast 4.Dickson Co 5.Henry Co 6.Northwest 7.Kenwood 8.Springfield What do you guys think?
  10. I'm very sorry to hear this. I had a opportunity to meet Kyle and was very impressed with him. Had a few good conversations with him and he had a great attitude towards life. Was this a health issue or "just his time"?
  11. Claybrooks I know you're not interested in leaving the Tigers are you?
  12. Stallions are the team to beat..Nationally ranked team that some say could give some of the top 15u teams a good game. Next you gotta go with the TN Bearcats as the next favorite because they've been here over and over again. But the team under the radar seems to be the TN Travelers who feature a roster thats as big as some 15u teams in the state. I believe they're underfeated on the season as well. It'll be interesting to see how they do as this is their first year together.
  13. Tyler Smith was at Giles Co all four years. He signed with UT out of high school and when Bruce Pearl took over, wouldnt let him out of his Letter of Intent so Smith had to attend a prepschool for a year to get out of his committment. He probably should have went to UT considering Pearl plays his style of transition ball. But I think people were rumored on here to saying that Pearl didnt do a good job recruiting him to stay.
  14. Marion attended Clarksville HS from 92-96. Trenton Hassell(Minnesota Timberwolves) attended Clarksville as well. He is a year younger than Shawn Marion.
  15. And what reasons do you have not to believe that the other guys wont step up? Dont get me wrong, I know ridgeway is a load of a team with thier athletes but you make it sound like Clarksville backed into a state tournament berth. Anyone that knows basketball know that you dont back into championship games and state tournament berths. They had to go through 4 of middle TNs top teams. However you may be right, Clarksville could lose by 15. But I think they're more competitive overall as a team than that to get beat by that much..BUT WHO KNOWS??
  16. The thing that stands out about Jamie is hes going to get an outstanding education. I mean, just look at his qualities, personality and if he doesnt go pro anywhere hes going to use his degree..Success written all over this kids face. Never seen Allen play but he sounds like hes a freak with the combonation of size, speed, and athleticism. Caldwell, seems to have many peoples respect even though hes the youngester of the bunch. But hes grown up in a hurry. I think when its all said and done he'll have many options to choose from. Whats good about these young men are they all seem to be very good academically and discipline.
  17. WOW, That seems to be as good of a scouting report that I've heard about on a team. I think that is a fairly accurate one as well. I think when you have good guards you're going to win alot of games and that holds true with this team. The guards are good and the "role players" well they play thier roles. State Tournament should be fun to watch with stars such as.. Tyrone Caldwell-Clarksville Shaun Merriweather-Clarksville Terrance Olgesby-Bradley Central Keith Dodd-Bradley Central Jason Jones-Ridgeway Martino Brock-Ridgeway Terico White-Craigmont Jamie Grahm-Whites Creek Demonte Harper-Whites Creek Chassion Allen-Oakland I know I left some others off but thats a stout list of players.
  18. HAHAHAHA...You must really want the cats to lose.
  19. Wheres cobrafan?? Hes picked againist the cats the last three times they've faced elimination. Not sure why he would picked againist CLARKSVILLE considering they gave Hunters Lane all they wanted a year ago in the substate game with sophs and Jrs
  20. 96-97 season was the last time Clarksville advance to state. They got beat by a Vincent Yarbrough led Cleveland team in the first round. Clarksville was led by Minnesota T'Wolves guard Trenton Hassell. But Clarksville has advance to two substates since then including last year when they ran into a very potent Hunters Lane team. I've posted several times on this thread and tried to stay modest or confident but this was just Clarksville's turn. They have good athletes, shooters, a solid post, and a decent bench. Obviously the defense is what seperates them because they're going out every night and shuting other teams down. By the way they're playing Man to man. I think Franklin will be back in another two years because they're sophmores are really tough. But they have so much tradition you never expect a team like that to rebuild only reload...Great coaching but sometimes you have to bite the bullet and I think this was one of those times. I enjoyed watching Derek Batt play this season.
  21. Not sure anyone is looking past Franklin but like someone else posted earlier, considering these factors this is why Clarksville is favorite... 1. Clarksville is playing at home 2. They are a top 5 team who is on a 20 game winning streak. 3. They did beat them in the first game of the year by 3 without thier whole team 4. Franklin is missing a key starter Those are 4 good reasons why Clarksville is a favorite Franklin is a threat at all times because one they know how to put the ball in the hole, meaning they shoot the three ball as well as anybody in the state. They play incredibly hard and defend on the perimeter well. They are well coached and have tradition like Clarksville. So there are 4 good reasons that Franklin could pull a upset but anytime you go on the road, the home team will be favorite. Let the game begin..
  22. The year was 1995-96 season which happen to be Shawn Marion's SR year and Hassells Jr. Marion had the putback to win the game. I thought it was clean considering no one put a body on Marion. Considering how athletic Shawn was, that should have been the first thing Nollner said in the timeout before the free throw. However that was a grerat game. The following year Hassell gave James stuart all he wanted in a head to head matchup which CHS won that year as well. But I'm sure Clarksville enjoys Cobrafan picking againist them, more motivation. I want the best Middle TN teams to advance who have the best chance to win State.
  23. Everyone knows that Clarksville is in Middle TN. They're only about 40 miles north of Nashville. Clarksville is clearly is Middle TN..White Co and Cookeville are always considered borderline East and West TN because of the Platuea.
