  1. AL got revenge big time and took over 4th place in the district.
  2. Thank You..I'm biased because of my relationship with the program but I kinda of get tired of hearing that "Clarksville plays in a weak district" stuff. Its like if they werent blowing out the teams people would complain about how overrated they were. I think the tournament will be good and I expect the region 5-AAA tournament to be exciting as well. Let the games begin....
  3. Well, I guess as long as they keep winning and other teams lose thats ahead of them they will keep moving up. Thus far everyone whos been in the Top 5 since the first set of rankings held #1 except for Clarksville and Whites Creek..I'm sure everyone continue to say who weak Clarksville's district is but last time I checked they couldnt help who they had to play but that shouldnt take away from thier season and the talent they have. They lost to two quality teams who are tough and beaten some good teams as well. Its not as much of them being "that good" as it is being a product of winning and losing.
  4. Last I heard, HC/Rossview is scheduled for Thursday of this week...I cannot confirm right now but I think the games must be played before this saturday if all possible. I think DC seems to have the raw deal because they'll have like 4 games in a 6 day span..WOW!!
  5. Didnt the Patriots show that up to this point the Wildcats are unbeatable? I mean really you look at all of the missed layups that Clarksville had mixed with Merriweathers lack of scoring. I mean, I wouldnt say that HC's Defense stopped Merriweather. He got the same shots hes been getting all year but missed them. But the score was tied at halftime only for Clarksville to go off on thier big run to seal the deal...64-47 and Clarksville wasnt even close to hitting on all cylinders tonight which could have had something to do with HC effort and game plan. But give credit where its due. I thought HC played as well as they're gonna play.
  6. Caldwell will be coming back for Clarksville, I guess thats all that matters since he was district MVP as a Soph and looks to be on his way to the prestigous award again as a JR. Northeast should be exciting next year with Alderson, Walker, and James coming back as starters as well as some good sophmores.
  7. I know of one by the name of Chris McClurkin. He plays a little varsity now but he seems to be the scoring leader for thier JV team. Tuck's son might be able to contribute a little next year. Not sure of any other kids. I think they had some athletic freshman on JV as well. Primm comes back next year as well as one of the post players.
  8. As of now he is getting recruited to play a Combo Forward spot meaning the 3/4. It would be a added bonus if he gets his ball handle taken care of and shooting off the bounce then he could end up being a solid 3 at the next level. Because with his athletic ability, he would be a tough matchup.
  9. Clarksville-Northeast is athletic enough to give Clarksville a good game. I would like to see a Clarksville-Springfield district Championship game. Hopefully Clarksville can play Mt.Juliet or Lavergne for a Region championship. I know they would like to get back at Gallatin for sticking one of their two loses.
  10. Well I wont go as far as to say the worse in the state but this district other than Clarksville will probably struggle during region tournament. However Clarksville has played about a good tough non district schedule. Clarksville's team chemistry and team makeup should allow them to advance pretty far this year. When lookin at the team and losing only one player from last year's substate team. Last year the region seemed to be a lot tougher than this years. So we'll see what happens.
  11. I thought the officiating was terrible both ways. I cant say Clarksville got more breaks than springfield or vice versa. It was just a terrible effort on the refs part but to blame them and say thats why Clarksville won is absurb. Lets give credit where its due. Clarksville is the clear number one in this district. Tournament time is another season and then someone else gets an opportunity to be a clear number one. Last year Clarksville was the number one team in regular season but springfield was the top team in district tournament then CHS took over as the top region team with Lavergne. Thats just how it is. I think the season will end on a interesting note as well as the district tournament. I hope all the teams play well and keep playing hard. Everybody's been competiting at thier best regardless of the refs...
  12. Well, for one I think the Clarksville schools are competitive. Clarksville HS has been the most consistent at competiting at a state or substate level. But you have to look at the fact that there are alot of schools in this city which spreads out most of the talent. Northeast, Northwest, and Kenwood are all within a 5-7 mile radius which seems crazy. I think people would agree that Clarksville schools have held thier own and been competitive.
  13. Well I'm sure Pearson did have a good state tournament performance but alot of people agree that Hassell had two very good State Tournaments. Hassell had 27 points, 12 rebounds, and 7 assist, with 5 steals. Thats pretty impressive. Along with guarding Vincent Yarbrough at times. As far as Maybin goes, he was the best pure scorer of the three but Hassell was more complete. Maybin didnt get drafted out of Uni of Louisville. He ended up going overseas and playing then thats when he got hurt. But Marion has always been better suited for the pros.
  14. Yea, it is amazing considering they were about 8 deep both years Clarksville made it to state. So they had good role players to compliment these guys and didnt win. Both times Clarksville was put out by UT Signees(Tony Harris and Vincent Yarbrough) in the first round. Every media outlet in attendence agreed that Trenton Hassell put on the best State Tournament performances in two years especially his SR year since maybe Penny Hardaway. Hassell was way better than Marion in high school. However, Marion was a lot better athlete and the style Clarksville played suited Hassell better than Marion. But I would agree that both players should be mentioned when saying best players in State of TN. I thought Yarbrough was pretty special. I remember seeing Ron Mercer as a freshman or sophmore when he came to Clarksville. He was legit too!!

    10AAA

Yea, well its different winning district tournament and competing and go deep in the regional tournament. I agree that Springfield should have a solid year but I dont think they'll go far in the tournament because of more experienced, discipline teams. Remember they've only competed at the AAA level for one year. Its alot different when you've played againist teams who know how to win year in and out.

I think its obivious that Clarksville gets the nod after making it to the Sweet 16 game and being one game away from the State Tournament. Losing only one starter which could make a difference early helps there cause. Bringing back Caldwell and Merriweather to a team with solid role players helps them. Northeast has the talent and athletic ability to give Clarksville fits but will they gell together to make a serious run at district and region titles. Everybody knows Dickson co will always be there when its counts most. Well coached, athletic and discipline players equal success. AND HOW COME NO ONE MENTIONS SPRINGFIELD?? Remember they won the district tournament championship over a scrappy Henry Co team. I like Springfield because of thier athletic ability and high talent level. I dont expect Henry Co to make a run again like they did last year. Rossview has the size to compete this year but guard play will be shaky. Northwest has the talent, size, athletic ability, a new coach but can you teach winning over night? Probably not therefore they are probably a year away from competiting for titles in this league. Kenwood with a new coach just dont have the size to compete with the TOP 4. As far as the regional tournament goes here are my top teams to compete. A few must see games..WOW these are some good matchups on paper. 9-AAA 1. Mt. Juliet 2. Gallatin 3. Wilson Central 4. Lavergne 10-AAA 1. Clarksville 2. Springfield 3. Northeast 4. Dickson Co
  17. I'm biased but I think Clarksville wins this district. But not without Clarksville-Northeast and Springfield giving them all they want. Kevin Tuck does a good job and I wouldnt dare count Dickson Co out of the race but I dont think they have the horses this year to compete for a title. Rossview looks to finish in the top 4 for the first time in school history but after losing a plethora of experienced guards whos gonna bring the ball up the floor for this years club? Northwest will be much improved and the athletic ability is there but its tough competiting againist teams who know how to win. Henry co looks to build on the surprise district tournament run knocking off Northeast and Heavily favored Clarksville before losing to Springfield in the championship game.

    AAA Region Results

Is this the brother of University of Missori-s Redshirt freshman Bud Reynolds who was a TN Prep Golfer?

    AAA Region Results

Defending AAA State Champions Clarksville H.S. advanced to the state tournament by winning the Region 5-AAA tournament by double digits. With Riverdale getting upset in Regionals, it looks like Clarksville will have a chance to win thier 2nd state title in a row, 3rd in the last 5 years. GO CATS!!
  20. The Stars were the best team in Clarksville this year. The Middle TN Magic formerly Clarksville Magic seem to not have it this year. Not sure if competition is catchinh up with them or what but expect them to come back with a venegence next year. The TN Thunder had a couple good guards and a solid big man down low.
  21. I guess now that 13u state is all over when its said and done the TN Bearcats are probably one of the best teams in MIDDLE TN is not THE best even though they did lose to Thunder but placed higher than they did. When looking at who can be more succesful in Nationals you gotta believe they'll be better off but you never know. Like I posted before I dont have a horse in this race, I really enjoy watching them play. Did the Clarksville Stars win any games in State? How come AAU replaced a team?
  22. I've witness this guy first hand and the camp organization is UNBELIEVABLE!! What you get from this experience is second to none. Great Baasketball environment. The instructors surronding the director are all knowledgable about the game of basketball. You cant beat good basketball for $35..
  23. Birmingham Ice, Chattanooga Warriors, and Franklin Rage..Those seem to be the only other teams that compete hard in TN AAU for boys. However, this tournament is shaping up to be a pretty competitive tournament before Memorial day events.
  24. Thank you for stating the obvious. As a coach on the high school and AAU level I understand the meaning of "Team Ball" and the fact that teams wouldnt advance without playing with each other. However my purpose for asking was I wanted to know who are some of the top players to look for in years to come. These young ladies will be playing in high school in another few years so its always good to know what high school programs will continue to carry weight. We all know about the Shelbyvilles, Briarcrest, Wilson Centrals, Oak Ridge, Cheatham Co, Clevelands, and etc but who else will feature good players. That was the only reason I asked the question.
  25. Whos the top team in 12u, I heard the TN Wildcats were good..
